  • Fire Fire Fire. Great work!!!

  • This is pone of the best looking shorts shot on a dslr that i've seen. Congrats! What were your settings?

  • GOOD Very GOOD!! haha the sream was funny. I was just ambient light right?

  • oh wow.. such a great short.. the camera is phenominal. your cuts were great and such a good ending.. i rate this a 10 plus. keep creating and hold on tight to that 7d!!

  • With no stabilizer and so little time you've made one of the most enjoyable Canon 7D videos. Thanks for this short movie!

  • all handheld or steadicam?

  • all handheld my friend, i didn't have the fortune of having a lens with IS either

  • you know julian, it's people like you who're going to make it as filmmakers. Here you are with a few hours to make a movie and you come up with this, something sweet, well acted, and enjoyable.

I look forward to seeing more of your work soon

  • thanks, i appreciate that ! me and Jole (the actor running away) have a webseries on the verge of launching so you will see that within the next couple months :]

  • I couldn't agree more, this video really show what talented filmmakers can do now the HD market has become much affordable.

I'm a photographer myself, I'm going to upgrade to a 7D or even a 5DmkII soon. It's exactely shortmovies like this that I play over and over again in my head and that I would like to shoot once I got the camera :)

  • Yep, although someday move to longer films, but only once you've got the economy of a good short film perfect.

Until recently i've been making increasingly long short films which question all sorts of philosophical problems, but in a self indulgent, intentionally ambiguous and confusing way, boring due to a complete disregard for dramatic tension.

I'm now trying to strip everything down to basics and go straight for the emotion. the simple idea.

    I use a hv30, would get a 5D but want a Scarlet

  • damn I want a 7d so baaaadddd

  • what framerate (fps) was this made in?

  • 24 fps, i believe sometimes the shutter speed may have been between 50 - 100

  • thanks for the quick awnser.

    .. nice movie, looks pro.

  • Jole's face when he watches Aaron run away is priceless. I love this.

  • man this is cool man......soooo coool.

  • Flint - I was shooting at f/1.8 @ ISO 1250 most of the time, I may have bumped to 2500 for a few shots.

Mortal - no stabilizer with the exception of a few skateboard shots and some where we sat in the trunk of a car - otherwise, all handheld

  • This is shot really well, did you use any stabilizer? Camera movement is pretty choppy but it doesnt seem as high frequency as if you were just running with the camera alone.

  • Really fantastic work! What were your settings? I can't imagine you maxed your iso and that's a smart move. You gotta know when the gain looks terrible!

Great job! I'm looking into getting this camera and I'd like to know your settings to see what I'm up against. Currently using an HV30 and it's crap in low light.

  • No, unfortunately not - gotta pull focus all the time!

  • Nicely done. When shooting video on a DSLR, does the camera auto-focus? Btw, I'm Joel's cousin. Haha.

  • respect that quality.

  • Great work, keep it up young man.....keep it up...

  • FTW.

  • LMFAO,I love it, I love it, I love it.
