@khalilgf Any HDTV will automatically convert the signal to the old NTSC 525 line format, so you will not gain anything. However, if would be interesting to upgrade the replicas to feature HD and refine the various effects simulating the original video weaknesses.

Does Brown Box use the same chip as Odyssey? (AY-3-8500)

@majinvegy No, it's only made with discrete components (transistors, diodes, resistors, capacitors, etc.). The AY-3-8500 chip (General Instruments) was first released in early 1976.

I have a Magnavox Odyssey that displays just the dots and ball on the screen but the ball goes through both players when I try to play Game Cart #1. Also, the center line doesn't show up. Does anyone know what is wrong with the collision detection?

Anyways, Ralph Baer is one of my heroes. Anyone who impacted the early development of the video game industry deserves quite a bit of respect.
