@khalilgf Any HDTV will automatically convert the signal to the old NTSC 525 line format, so you will not gain anything. However, if would be interesting to upgrade the replicas to feature HD and refine the various effects simulating the original video weaknesses.
@majinvegy No, it's only made with discrete components (transistors, diodes, resistors, capacitors, etc.). The AY-3-8500 chip (General Instruments) was first released in early 1976.
@khalidaldosari The Brown Box is a unique prototype. A few exact replicas were made for museums, myself and another collector. None are avialable for sale.
Thanks you legend of the VIDEO GAMES!! -- I would like to see Ralf Baer with Nolan Bushnell TOGETHER(Picture or talking about something, maybe about games)! :)
Nolan Bushnell, come on,what are you waiting for??
I have a Magnavox Odyssey that displays just the dots and ball on the screen but the ball goes through both players when I try to play Game Cart #1. Also, the center line doesn't show up. Does anyone know what is wrong with the collision detection?
ack so true. I miss Tech tv :( Used to watch Icons too. I also saw that episode :) Wish they would bring back some of the niche shows, there's nothing good left.
I'm getting Ralph Baer's autograph soon. But it's just going to be coming to me in the mail. I do I hope to meet him in person though in a year or so.
i wonder if u plays it on a 1080p tv...

I did too, until I saw the story on G4tv. On the show Icons. He even said that no one knows who he is.

I saw that too! I miss old G4. T-T
Anyways, Ralph Baer is one of my heroes. Anyone who impacted the early development of the video game industry deserves quite a bit of respect.
