  • mega tron used to be a gun now he's a tank and bumble bee wuz a little car thing now he's a mustang. and people in the eighty's couldn't wait for the future i hate the twenty-first century T^T

  • DARN IT JAPAN! STOP UPSTAGING US IN OUR OWN TV SHOWS! D:

    (I still love it though)

  • @HamtaroWarriors Funfact:It's animated by Toei animation, partially made by Takara tomy, and originally based on a japanese toy concept

  • well the japanese version has more effort put into lyrics

  • The recording quality is way better than the original recording of the American theme song, but the American one wins in the composition department.

  • This sounds heck of a lot better then the USA version. at one time there was a limited edition Japanese CD set of all the Japanese Transformers in a nice box. this song was in the collection. Not all the songs was nice. only a few.

  • I really love this theme, I have it now and l play it all the time...

Even when I play Transformers on my xbox 360, it fits epic alot though. Thanks for the upload!

  • 思いのほか外人にこの歌は不評みたいだけど、(女々しいから?)

    自分にとってはまさに思い出の歌。

  • Don't say Japs. It is a very discriminatory expression and exposes your illiberality.

  • @macaion897 He plays call of duty dude, its a regional requirement for CoD to directy or indirectly bash Japanese and their culture. While playing in Japanese video game consoles and drinking German beer. Because all American beer came originally from German brewers. They would do the same with the Germans if they could produce epic music like this.

The ironic thing is that he is using a Japanese song to kill Japanese as an american.

Let's let the irony sink in...

  • Not to mention that people like him are the reason why operation rainfall failed and the Megaman, Viewtiful Joe and Okami franchises were abandoned by Capcom.

  • Without the Japanese, they would never be The Transformer franchise!!!

  • Wtf did I just watch?

  • I find this theme very interesting and I like both versions.

  • I don't care if it's the US or Jap version. I love both themes. :)

  • this song wants me to shoot japs in call of duty

  • Lets all just get along and say that Japan musically has different sensibilities than the US. Their Transformers theme was ...well..different. Depending on your taste youll prefer either the Japan theme or the US. Its all about taste. By the way, the clips are all pretty much from "More Than Meets The Eye" pts 1 ,2, and 3.

  • So many people hate the theme, I think its awesome

  • @PurpleViper2 They are basically the American g1 trukky not munky fanboys who cause the rest of us to listen to progressively crappier remixes of the original theme song. I havent heard Prime's yet but i'm sure that like Animated before it would bring forth a new level in enough already try something new for once. Beast wars was classy enough to do this why cant other US transformers?

  • PIECE OF SHIT!!!

  • @optimus429 it's your childhood.

  • @HiroIndo16 sorry but my original childhood is here watch?v=WGqexNH3w3E&feature=related

  • @optimus429 if you're true transformers G1 fan, you should be know that this animation is a collaboration between American Hasbro and Japanese animation studio, smartass. so whether its japanese of american, any of it is original.

  • @HiroIndo16 YOU KNOW I AM ALLWAYS G1 FAN! AND PLEASE DON´T TEACH ME WHAT I SHOULD LOVE AND WHAT NOT I HATE THIS ANNOYING THEME THAT´S ALL

  • @optimus429 obvious one sided fan much? then you're not true G1 fan. I see you're a little bit uneducated there so I teached you some lesson about G1. be thankful.

  • @HiroIndo16 if i hate one freaking theme i am not g1 fan you are sooo smart no YOU ARE RIDICULOUS

  • @optimus429 you are not hating it you're dissing it it was wrong so I tell you things. telling people good things is not wrong in my opinion. by the way, your opinion doesn't matter.

  • @HiroIndo16 i hate only this music

  • @optimus429 i'm talking about the music.

  • @HiroIndo16 my childhood is original g1 transformers

  • Cool! So great....

  • Honestly, I was surprised...I never thought that the american theme song is A LOT better than the japanese.

  • Why is this cooler than anything Americans will ever conceive?

  • @DJCaptainGalactic are you both deaf and stupid? the original american intro song is and forever will be better than this gay ass sh1t

  • @DJCaptainGalactic

this WAS conceived by Americans, unless you mean this song

WE HOPE THE ONLY WORLD!! :P

  • @henkman00

    No,Kitty,youcanothavetheseTransformersbecauseIkeepthemformyself,OHHH!!!!! ^_^

    Let's fighting love!!

  • wow this is shit!

  • why do all the japanese cartoons HAVE SUCH GAY ASS MUSIC???? WHY

  • @Tw4tz0r

I point you to the Japanese band JAM Project. You listen to any of their songs and then tell me whether or not they're as you put it "GAY ASS".

  • The beginning of the greatest awesomeness of our age =D

  • What the heck are all you casuals talking about? Headmasters? In Japan, Headmasters were tiny cybertronians who formed the heads (headmasters) or weapons (called Targetmasters) later on in Masterforce they had the Godmasters but that was the Japanese powermasters. The whole purpose of the transectors int here to be spoilerific was to form 'souls' for the lifeless transectors so they all becacme sentient robots in the end. Watch Masterforce its better than the original series.

  • sounds similar to Jushin Thunder Ligers theme ^^

  • Song is too damn catchy.

  • Arcee: D: This almost makes the English version look like a pile of scrap!!! Japan is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! :D

  • I don't know why but I found the OP song to be extremely catchy.

  • Yes...Transformers was aired in the US first in 1984. Then one year later it was dubbed for Japan for all three seasons. Scramble City was the only episode made by Japan until their version of Headmasters came out.

  • this is like a can of fresh air after taken a shit like g2

  • The American Version's opening guitar riff alone MURDERS this song to DEATH.

  • Comment removed

  • Not everybody knows Japanese words! English is better!

  • YU CAN FIIII TRANSFORMA!!!! so bloody catchy, thank our glorious brothers

  • the english speaking dub was much better this sounds like a song that would be in a special or a movie soundtrack

  • One of the few times where I like the American dub and intro song better.

I have the Japanese laserdisc of the Transformers movie and they put titles when every character appears for the first time.

  • It's nice, but it doesn't match the dub's addictiveness...

God, when that robotic voice says: "Transformers"... ~.~ Soo good. I'm not to big a fan of this version, Transformer's 2010's song in the Japanese version is much better.

  • WAKE UP!

  • なつけ~

  • brings a tear to my eyes, so many memories

  • The song is ok but it's a tat 2 happy to be an opening for G1. American is better.

  • If you think this is too happy, listen to the Japanese Beast Wars intro.

  • I know i've heard it :)

  • obliviously you didnt hear rosanna is going to save G1

  • I agree that it was a bit too cheerful for Transformers as the US knows it. But as to who is better... You have to ask the culture that's watching. The Japanese would think this is great. And that's fine for them.

  • @PeachWookiee not just the USA but europe too as a lot of europeans including us in the UK where big fans too and it did great over here

have to agree the japanese just made it different for them, although i dont think it fits the show with all its action, it makes it sound like a bad anime

  • Or an exercise video...

  • Two obscure toylines by the names of Microman and Diaclone were combined by Hasbro to create the awesome franchise known as Transformers. :D Without Microman and Diaclone, Transformers wouldn't exist.

  • you got it wrong, this isn't a dub, its a "version" transformers was co-produced by north American Hasbro and some Japanese company, so nether are dubs, there both original.

  • @POKENAR no, american is original.

  • @peterscoop no, what i said is true, from what i understand, hasbro did storyline, and the japanese company did animation, thats my guess, but it was co-produced

  • @POKENAR no, what IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII said was true, not what you said.

  • @POKENAR

nope. Takara (Japan) did the toyline. Marvel Comics (US) created the storyline.(including names, powers and personalities) (Sunbow-part of Marvel) created the show. Toei (Japan) animated the show. Hasbro sold the toys in the US and EU and then Takara bought the rights to the TF characters from Hasbro.

it will never end to surprise me how many people dont know this, they never even heard of Bob Budiansky and others.

  • @POKENAR The Company hasbro worke with was called Takara, which now exists as Takara-Tomy

  • @POKENAR that Japanese company is Takara Tomy, some transformers fan you are.

  • @guncannon109 I never said I said i knew alot, i just said what i was informed of, if i was wrong, it was because what i read was wrong, i can only know what i was taught, and i am not good at memorizing companies or anything for that matter, you seem to have some discomfort in your lower back, maybe around the buttocks

  • @POKENAR Not quite; co-production didn't happen until Transformers became popular in the US. Takara began taking the TF name and US toys, and getting rid of their original Diaclone, Mircoman, Waruder, etc...toy lines. As for the animated series, it was dubbed for Japanese release. So in all essence, TF is actually an American creation with inspiration from the Takara toys. The story, characters, series, everything TF is actually originally American, intended originally for American audiences.

  • @POKENAR So that means the US and Japanese versions of G1 aired simultaneously in their respective countries?

  • Can anyone translate the singing?

  • i think the song was singing from a men and with a robot sound

  • I love japanese, but the american intro song is WAY better imo i must say.

  • I'd tend to agree - but on the other hand I just recently rewatched some season 1... That version of the theme song sounded like it was sung by "whoever was in the vicinity of the studio that day"... The US theme song definitely improved later on...

The "Headmasters" theme is awesome, though. Much better than the earlier Japanese Transformers openings...

  • The original idea about transformers came from japan, but in the USA created the "universe transformer"

  • The english is better.

  • In the Case of the season1 intro, Japanese version is more excting than English one.

  • I disagree due to engrish

  • actually transformers came from japan car robots then came here thus transformers both are great

  • Exatly, it was originated from Takara robot toy.

  • I love all that is japanese, but the ORIGINAL TF opening is the English Version.

  • The English version sounded way better than the Japanese version. No offence to anyone, just my own opinion. The Japanese version made those Transformers looked kinda sissy. :X

  • the idea of "TRANSFORMERS" was created in the US...the name used as "transformer" for transforming toys was created in Italy for the diclone toys sold there.....

  • I prefer all the Japanese transformers openings than the American ones (except for Beast Wars season 1 Japanese opening, that one is no good).

  • ditto. yeah, the BW japanese opening sucks, but the rest pwn

  • The reason it was animated in Japan was because of the cheaper production costs. Back in the 80's and into the early 90's there were quite a number of shows animated there. You wouldn't consider Thundercats Japanese, right? Well that was animated by Toei. Does that make it Japanese? Hell no. Same thing with TF. Nowadays, a lot of Japanese anime is animated in Korea. Would those be considered Korean anime then? The series is not tied to the animation, but through the writing and the production.

  • First, Thundercats WAS japanese. Second, Transformers G1 was animated in AMERICA. They just used japanese toys.

  • Wrong. Thundercats was an American production, based on the characters created by Tobin Ted Wolf. It was developed and produced by Rankin/Bass productions. Where does this indicate it's Japanese?

  • the animation is done by Topcraft, a Japanese animation studio which would later become Studio Ghibli. A lot of modern-day anime fan are still debating if Thundercats because of it's animation origin.

  • Again, a production's animation origin does not dictate from which country creates and produces the show. Tobin Ted Wolf created Thundercats; his idea, his show. The animation could have been done anywhere; if it was done in South Korea, would Thundercats be South Korean? Piss poor argument for anime fanboys. According to such fanboys, then the Simpsons would be Korean, never mind that Matt Groening created it, an American. Pathetic.

  • What about Witchblade and Gi Joe: Sigma 6, and Highlander. They all have anime version but the origin are American, and they've became anime. What about them?

  • It all depends on the production staff. It helps to ask the following: was the production created for Japanese audiences, and released originally in Japanese? Does it contain numerous changes (cultural and style)? If it was only animated in Japan, then these would still be American and not Japanese anime. Witchblade is an adaptation, changed and made into one, with a Japanese production staff, made for Japan audiences; like Demashita! Powerpuff Girls Z. No outside production, writing and such.

  • @TagametHB2000 The Simpons wasn't based on a line of Japanese toys. :P

  • TF:G1, the pilot, seasons 1 and 2 were animated in the US/Japan by Toei, as well as the movie. Season 3 was animated by AMOK, in South Korea

  • good song, but what's is his name???

  • as i understand it ''jp-G1'' had a different story too for one thing the us-movie never happened

  • The movie DID happen, but it wasn't dubbed in japanese until after Transformers Victory.

  • What's your point? Yes, the movie did happen but it didn't follow the continuity in the Japanese versions. They got it later because the movie was produced for American audiences, just as the G1 series initially were. SO the point being is that TF is American, and didn't become international until Japan produced it's own series after G1.

  • sorry the movie din't happen in jp canon, and there is more G1 season 1 and 2 jp version had different text and storys -thats what i hear- jp season 3 is set in 2010 not 2005-2006 (thats why Dannie isn't 6 years older in Headmasters witch is set in 2011) jp G1 had its own canon. us G1 had the Matrix of leadership, in jp G1 its just a power pack, 2 different universes. the movie made it into jp in 1989. but is not canon to the jp shows made then end before.

  • beautiful song ^_^

  • Is there ever a timeline given for when the Autobots and Decepticons existed? Even in the first episodes in the American version no real timeline is given just curious as I never read the comics.

  • G1 season 3 was done by Nelson Shin's(producer of the show and director of the 86 movie) animation company Akom, which also has done 90's X men and some episodes of the simpsons

  • does anyone know the english translations to the lyrics here

  • i love the english opening all three if you like this video you should cheak out mine its pretty good it has all three songs

  • I like both English and Japanese openings.

  • I think both the American and Japanese intros are great. But I grew up watching the American version. And I would like to watch the Japanese version if they released one with English subtitles.

  • Wow! That's pretty awesome. The song has a bit of Zeta Gundam and ZZ Gundam music taste to it.

I mean, the American opening song is very iconic and anyone (old school to new school fans) pretty much associates " Transformers...More than meets the eye!" with Transformers. However, I can't help, but really really like the Japanese intro here. It brings a whole new side to it as well.

Maybe it's because I really enjoy Gundam openings (in particular, UC Gundam themes).

  • actually it cant be considered the dub, as all thetransformers begining with G1 were animated by Toei Animation, the japanese company. AS the official authors are japanese, this is considered original - and usa is considered dub.

  • The third season of G1 Transformers was NOT animated by Toei Animation.

  • Wrong. Japan redubbed TF, when it was imported there. G1 was American produced for American audiences in mind. The toys (Diaclone, Waruder, Microman, etc served as the inspiration, but the characters story and such were not TF. Hasbro and Marvel, created the story, personalities and the TF universe. The US verision is the original, and TF is American. Look at the production team. Where it's animated has nothing to do with the creative team; would The Simpsons or Family Guy be Korean then?

  • I guarantee you, if Japan had done the storyline, the TF would be soulless machines piloted by humans. Gundam-clones and sentai were huge at the time. The original toys the TF designs were based on were human piloted. The later JPN TF series had human piloted modes for their characters. Finally, when Orbots was being developed, JPN insisted they be human-piloted machines, while the ABC network wanted sentient robots like the TF and Gobots. They eventually compromised.

  • Exactly my point; that's what I was trying to get across. If Japan had turned their Diaclone, Microman toy lines into a series, it wouldn't be TF. I can't see why people still think that TF is a Japanese creation when it's really American.

  • That's why Takara decided to make the Brave Saga.

  • bitch about it all you want try collecting some of the G1 Japanese Toys like black zarak grand max unused an then will talk about how easy that can be

  • I know what you mean, I am getting tired of automated mecha. Why don't Bandai and Hasbro create Transformers: Gundam. the autobot or gundambot I like to call them. the gundambot have AI and can be piloted by human. I would like it if they make the show a bit dark, and change the stroyline from the other transformers show. It would be cool to see Optimus Prime as Rx-78 Gundam or Wing Zero Gundam. Megatron would be cool as a Char Zaku 2 or Talgesse 3.

  • I wouldn't mind it if more humans were piloting TF exoskeletons to fight alongside Autobots. It's the natural progression if you're enlisting humans into your war. What I didn't like were TF giving up their free-will to allow humans to pilot them. That's why I loathed the American Headmasters. They were trying to push it like it was a good thing. But without their human sidekicks, the TF were walking around headless, which was just creepy. And they did it to the regulars too.

  • I haven't finished that part yet. THe AI will have free will, and they will work together with human. Beside the gundam is losing popularity in America, I thought of bringing back the gundam franchise by taking Transformers and having them take form of mobile suits. I want the story and origins to be different. I want the gundambots and decepticons to no longer be alien mech from another world. Instead they were built on Earth. That's how I want it to be different.

  • That just sounds....really bad. Like Doozy Bots level bad.

  • Masterforce is like that except they have no lifeforce and the human literaly bonds with them

  • @newguy90 lol ya there's an actual version of the transfromers that a person pilots optimus prime like a gundam, i felt betrayed a little lol

  • @newguy90

Are you implying the existing Transformers was well written? Don't get me wrong, I loved the show as a kid, and think it's a very good idea for a show/toy commercial, but the writing isn't exactly good.

  • @ChudFapper

No, I'm not. Where did you get that idea in my explanation?

  • @newguy90: Really Transformers toy were originally going to be human piloted like every mecha anime. Well, if the Japanese handled Transformers story and brought it to US, We might not have Gundam Wings in USA (or maybe we did but call it a Transformers rip-off if Japan had it's way). That's very interesting. Now I'm waiting Takara and Bandai to have Transformers taking form of Gundam (hey if they take beast form and vehicle form, why not Gundams).

  • That was great: "We hope the only world." I'll be singing that when I see the movie.

  • Only if cinema ettiquette is a meaningless concept to you. And if anyone calls out "MISTER ANDERSON!" when Megatron speaks, I'd lynch them.

  • You spelled "Mysterious" wrong.

  • Actually, the interpreters did. ;-)

  • Oh. Alright then.

  • Yeah, this is WAY better than the American opening.

  • Are you kidding me??? The TRUE opening is a billion times better. "transformers...MORE THAN MEETS THE EYE!" is better than "MISTERIOUS VOICE"

  • I don't see much difference to warrant it being better, unless you enjoy Japanese 80s pop. Beyond the theme song, all they did was cut up the North American opening, add some scenes from the pilot movie, and include the mandatory Japanese title card and credits. It's not like they did totally new opening animation, like they did with the 90s X-men series.

  • This put the old Opening into so Shame!

  • YOU CAN FIGHT TRANSFORMER

  • Dude I gotta watch this show again! O_o

  • american is the best thats only fore transformers but the headmasters opening japanese is cool

  • Cool intro!

  • great!!

  • kool^_^

  • Good, but nothing beats the American opening song. :D

  • True, true. My 6 year old sister runs around the house screaming "ROBOTS IN THE SKIES!" XD I keep telling her it's 'disguise' but she doesn't listen :D

  • LOL! XD

  • Loz.. I use ot think it was "SKIES" also.
