That doesn't make much sense what he says about the plant land beeing equal to sakura tribe elder. The elder incrases your land count allowing you to have 4 in play on turn 3. The plant-land doesn't.

Worldwake got a few fine cards but is all in all a pretty bad set. I won't buy boosters except for a draft or two.

FYI, the demon isn't always going heads-up against a Baneslayer. And just like Baneslayer, if it isn't killed right away, it's going to run away with the game pretty quickly.

IMO, it's about 1/5th as good as baneslayer though, and I'm sure the price will reflect it fairly soon.

ok, someone has to teach Necrid110 the frickin rules; yes baneslayer has protection from demons... which means u assign 5 damage to it which is then prevented, guess where that last point is going? to their dome. Now the bad side to this is that the angel is alive, and will deal 5 to the demon, making the net hp change from Abyssal Persecutor smashing into a baneslayer is +4 to your opponent. Before arguing even more, and lookin real stupid, look it up, Necrid110

I'm not sure I follow your comparison between Khalni Garden and STE. Garden doesn't accelerate, doesn't thin your deck, and doesn't offer the ability to swing for damage. Also, STE can grab not-Forests to smooth out a 2-color deck.

I dont understand how u can even compare Khalni Garden with Sakura Tribe Elder! 5 Major differences: Sakura has mana acceleration, mana fixing, 1 Power, costs 1G and Khalni garden gets the token and the land in play at the same time!!!!!! The two cards are so different. Khalni garden would not have worked in ANY of the constructed decks Sakura worked in.

Ways for black to kill its own creatures which are more obvious than the cards u mentioned: Gatekeeper of Malakir and Tendrils of Corruption.

read the card.. u dont need to pump it all u need is to have green mana in ur mana pool...

@MrFreak0r As long as you do not use the mana, your mana pool will not empty. Turn 4 you could add 4 green, swing for 5, pass the turn without having used your mana. Turn 5 add 5 more mana (total of 9 in pool) and swing for 10. It all works.

Just watch out for the inevitable smother/terminate/etc on Omnath, after he leaves, your mana disappears at the end of whatever step he was killed on.

I thought the demon had to deal enough combat damage to kill the angel before Trample damage took effect. Since all damage dealt to the angel is prevented, then nothing tramples over. Either way, you still net the opponent 4 life for no reason; attacking into a baneslayer angel is usually the wrong play anyways.

yes if you attack with the demon then angel can block. damage will trample. small problem with that... the lifelink on the angel will cause the player with the angel to net gain 4 life for you attacking.

The chalice is solid stuff, even without ritual. The best thing is that it scales with the game, so drawing one in topdeck mode isn't quite as bad as a signet. Did Banefire and Martial Coup just get better?

Everflowing Chalice - seems pretty good in a stax deck.. workshop > mox > chalice for 2 tap play sphere. next turn untap 6 mana without playing anything.... seems pretty goood.

Yes it will. It has Trample. You don't actually have to kill the creatures to trample over, you just have to assign lethal damage. So you assign 5 damage to Baneslayer, and 1 to your opponent. Learn the rules hombre.

Incorrect... The trample damage will be assigned as normal dealing what would be lethal damage to the Baneslayer. Then you take the remaining one and assign it to the player. When damage happens, the 5 assigned to the Angel will just be reduced to 0. Protection says it can't be damaged, not that it can't be assigned damage.

You won't trample over for one damage. Trample only happens if you "deal enough damage to destroy" the creature, which you don't, because it has protection from Demons.

Here's the pizzaz for Everflowing Chalice Midgame Huge spells. Cast one of these on turn 4 and one on turn 6 and youre looking at 11-12 mana on turn 7. or 9 mana if you just cast one on turn 6. Gee now what am i gonna do with an extra 9-12 mana ? Maybe pay some enourmous kicker? im sure you can think of other things.

and the garden land is in no way close to the power level of sakura tribe elder. it doesnt accelerate, it doesnt thin ur deck, but instead decelerates u if u top deck this when u need an extra mana that turn.

all that said its still a playable card though

that Chalice is actually more like Ur-Golem's Eye from Darksteel with it's multikicker. Pump 4 into it and get two colorless. Would have been with that ability and rarity if it gave any one color of mana you wanted. IDK I could see it being useful somewhere, at some point in time.
