When a animal splashed in the water it means it's hurt or disoriented and so a easy prey. When you are swimming and you notice a shark the first thing you do is keep swimming in a orderly fashion. Just like with dogs, don't show them you are scared.

Hitting a shark on the nose isnt really effective to release yourself from its jaws.

Going for the eyes is a way that will make them release you.

They need all their sense to hunt and sight for most species is important and would automatically release you.

Yeah when a shark is near you have to stay still. If you panick and swim like that the shark will think you are a fish in distress and will attack you. Also if you can hit the shark on the noes. For some reason they don't like that and they will swim away.
