@1010TaylorF once u have downloaded winterboard u go to change themes u check off what settings u want 4 ur background and u hit optimize theme and on the top left corner u hit resping and what ever ur current wallpaper is that will end up being ur backgroung

U guys are all noobs T_T its called a theme and u have to download winterboard on cydia and it stores all ur themes so when u download it go to winterboard, click ur downloaded theme and there! Simple!

i jail broke my ipod using spirit. it probably the easiest jailbreak ever. literally, all you have to do is click a button and boom! its jail broken!

If you jailbreaked with black ra1n then it wont work most likley. try to jailbreak with something else like redsn0w 0.9

Yeah, there seems to be a problem with winterboard if you jailbreak with blackra1n. maybe try a different jailbreak and see if it makes a difference.

If it got stuck on the black screen after you rebooted, then that means you have a tethered jailbreak. To fix it, simply just plug your iPod into the computer and re-run blackra1n.

If it restarted after it finished downloading, then thats part of the installation.

On pretty much all the jailbreaks except blackra1n have it automaticly. With blackra1n theres just an app that you get on your iPod/iPhone and from that app you can install cydia, rock ect.

After installing winterboard my ipod said it needed itunes to restore. Is this normal? And did i just undo all the time i spent jailbreaking it?

It says you need to restore in itunes because you probably have a tethered jailbreak. So plug you ipod into your computer and run blackra1n again, and hopefully that will fix it.
