  • I live in Dyer one block away from Munster, and there was no tornado, a wall cloud, but nothing hit the ground

  • awesome video

  • when was this

  • last year

  • It didn't hit near Fran Lin which is where I live but I do remember all the damage that tornado caused. A tree fell down on my friends house.

  • Comment removed

  • I got caught walking my dog in this one. I was between Garfield and Monroe St. in Munster.

  • omg, my cousins live in there. That was West Lakes right??? They called me when that was happening!

  • Nothing personal but not much of a storm. I guess you had to be there.

By the way beautiful homes, I'm glad your home and others around you are OK.

That would suck if your home was layed to waste but as long as everyone is unhurt that's what really matters.

  • LARRY!

    haha

    i see my house=]

  • And That The Storm! Lol Nice Job Narrating larry, interesting storm! Back in 01' Route 8 Near the Pittsburgh Zoo was struck by a Mircoburst by an outbreak of Severe Weather, people still to this day debate wither it was a weak EF-1 or a Mircoburst

  • Great video! How powerful? Was than an EF3??

    Jim

  • EF-0 to EF-1, and the same supercell storm produced a half-mile wide tornado in Illinois.

  • Oh, and wow that's crazy!

    Jim

  • yeah, and then 2 months later, there's an EF-2 tornado that touches down 5 miles east, and then Tropical Storm Ike in September, this year has been crazy for weather in Chicago.

  • Nice did you see the RFD or not?

  • Probably not, if he was taking shelter. with an EF-0 to EF-1 the RFD can be stronger than the tornado itself. Maybe winds up to idk easy 70+ winds?

  • @larry84988 tropical storm ike was weak and nothing to munster it was just rain =p and im pretty sure it wasnt a TP i think it was TD

  • once i had a EF-1 within a 1/4 mile. my dad got as many animals and ran inside our storage room, which is like a bunker

  • kannibees, not all people in Munster are not rich, we simply work hard for the community we have. I live in Munster so therefore what i said is a fact. Beside I'd rather live in Munster, and be flooded than live in like Hammond on something and be ignorant.

  • I dont believe people rom munster r snobby true they are rich and part of the working class and I am from hammond and I can tell you there is probably ten times as more people sitting on there ass collecting welare and shit like that tragic it happen to munster but maybe it would be a wake up call to finally drain lil calument river its useless no body fishes in it and whose to say in another 20 years it wont crest higher than it did and this time hit hammond as bad as munster

  • You are a retard. SOME people are, not all. Everyone thinks we're all rich, high, and mighty just because there are a bunch walled complexes. Well over half of them haven't even been bought or even looked at. You can't paint with that size paint-brush, buddy. Thats like saying all people from Hammond are gangster, killers, robbers, and rapists, which is not true. I hate people like you.

  • woah woah I hope to god you r talking to kannibees

  • Oh yeah, sorry,. I was. I accidently clicked reply on yours. Sorry about that.

  • wdf are u talking about?

  • I was talkin to Kannibees

  • munster - land of the rich & flooded lol

  • You forced me to post a comment

    Nice video

  • and you forced me to reply to this commment, lol :)

  • White oak, huh? I remember the flood, my cousin lived in the neighborhood right next to Cady Ditch. The next road over from his street was flooded so bad that the firemen literally used boats to go down it.

  • Oh, that flood of 2006 was bad, but the flood of this year was worse.

  • this one was fun my aunt caught it on camera going over our house and then shit hit the fan then she had to run in but once it hit it hit very hard

  • wow, that's quite a story, you should upload it to youtube.

  • That was a great storm. I chased it from Hobart to Hammond/EC for quite a while..

  • sweet, I wanted to chase it myself, but I decided not to.

  • Glad you're safe.

  • Thanks for commenting!!! It was a very exciting and scary day at the same time.

  • I remember this cause my friend was driving me home. I actually marched in a tornado before, it was kinda fun Lol

  • You marched in a tornado? What was it like a parade or something?

  • That's some heavy weather. A.D. :)) thanks for sharing Keeneyville1

  • It was some very severe weather, although I wish I could have gotten footage of the flood, that was terrible.

  • Mother Nature can be a Bitch sometimes!!!

  • Ain't that a fact? Especially around Chicagoland, and John(Keeneyville1) will also tell you that the weather around Chicago takes much getting used to. Like we always say, if you don't like the weather, just wait a couple days. Thanks for commenting :)

  • that is scary weather for sure! Thanks for sharing

    Rocket

  • It was very scary, but also somewhat exciting at the same time. Thanks for watching!!! :)

  • Excellent video. I'm happy the tornado didn't hit you there, and I'm definitely happy it didn't hit us here in Illinois (well, some parts of Illinois got it very bad). 20 stars all the way:D Thank you so much for posting and sharing with us:D

  • Thank's I'm glad it didn't either, my town wasn't very prepared for such an event, the sirens went off only about 5 mins before it hit. But thankfully it didn't cause any damage or anything. :)

  • wow great footage glad it didn't hit you very intense.

  • Thanks, it wasn't as intense as it was in Illinois, but I'm thankful it wasn't. A lot of damage could have been done.

  • yea oh ok olololol

  • ok, if you live in munster it was pretty serious. so shut it

  • He's just kidding around, he know's that is was very serious, he even got some good pictures of the storm.

  • Hehe I saw that, I was quite scared. Btw is your last name amalu or w\e?

  • Yeah, but it's not spelled like that, who is this?

  • yea larry olololol

  • Thanks Nick, too bad you didn't have your camera with.

  • wow tornado.

  • Indeed, you should have seen what it looked like when it was still in Illinois.

  • Everyone Type In *Tornado Hits NW Indiana* .... And You Can See The Storm From The Perspective Of Dyer And Munster

  • That's some ominous looking weather there. All the classic conditions for a brutal tornado. I'm glad it missed you dude! =)

  • Thanks John, and I'm glad it missed me too. The past few days have been crazy with the weather.

  • was it like noisy and stuff?

  • No, except the lightning and thunder, it missed my house by less then a mile though.

  • I live in Hammond and that shit was crazy. lol

  • yeah it was, I can remember only one time that I came closer to another storm like this, and that was back in 1997.

  • cool vid larry

  • Thanks Lenny, I'm glad to say that it did not hit my house or anything.

  • yea that looked pretty bad glad your ok dude

  • Whoa, pretty intense! Is that your sister?

  • Yeah, it was very insane. I'm very glad it didn't hit my house, or any of my friends houses. And yes that is my little sister.
