This is in my opinion the best version ever of this Stabat Mater: its slower motion and gravity, Marshall & Valentini Terrani are the best "blend". I have bought this record several times as I listen to it with the the same emotion. Sublime!

I like very much this version, more slow tempo (current trend is often faster times), for me sounds more deep and more emotional.

In my opinion, the best recording of Pergolesi's Stabat mater. I'v had the CD for the longest time and one can never get tired of it.

Marshall and Valentini Terrani come together vocally like two sides of a coin.

Abbado's tempo is sublime, too.

The photo labelled as Lucia Vallentini Terrani looks more like Victoria de Los Angeles to me....

This performance is extremely slow - typical of the time it was recorded. Two beautiful voices, though, even if Terrani is more suited to Rossini, etc.
