.....many a Protastant that believed Jesus was Christian! I found it appalling and no mateer what i said they wouldn't believe to the contrary. Granted some of these same idiots said that Muslims worshiped the prophet Buddah. something that I find offensive despite having no relaton to either religion. I think you might, hopefully, find more respect for Judaism in more traditional christian sects, like Catholocism and Orthodox. Also, I do think there is a difference between law and tradition
I probably disagree with you on many a topic, and I won't go into my current beliefs, BUT I grew up Catholic, and in a Catholic school, and the fact that Jesus was Jewish was a very important part of our study, and while we did not celebrate all Jewish holidays, we did bring them into our studies during the times of year they were observed, it was always stressed that our religion came directly out of Judaism, and that the Jews were the chosen people. It surprised me as i got older and met......
I work at a christian preschool & I can attest that this is true. I just had a blow up this week about it when I brought in a chanukia for #8 craft. It wasn't pretty. I told her about Yoch. 9&10 but she didn't care. They love x-mas & halloween & easter though. Go figure. They're disconnected from their Jewish Y'shua & think Jewish things are bad, which is very bizarre seeing that He was entirely Jewish, said salvation is of the Jews& that He was only sent to Israel! I don't understand it.
Japan promotes Christmas so as to sell more goods, the poor suffer in there hearts because the lack of the funds to give to others , the tradition becomes more corrupt from generation to generation. and it should be peace on earth to men with good will.
It is just a day set aside as we don't know the real day Yehushua was born and it is also pagan in tradition. That is why I don't celebrate Christmas other than to give thanks to my Savior for His life & practice love, kindness & giving...like I do EVERYDAY anyway! It is a walk, not a "certain" day.. To me, it is just another day to give thanks to Yahweh for His everlasting love, mercy and grace! So, there are SOME of us Christians that know better!
I would say chrstians don't consider it a "commandment". They just see it as a way of celebrating jc's birth, whether the nt says to do so or not. Same if you question them about the date and ho it conflicts. They'll just say "we are just celebrating his birth, the date isn't important.
I think you're right. I grew up Christian. ...but this doesn't change the fact that it is a tradition... one that is viewed as sacred by most serious christians.
I'm not disagreeing with you, but as a "former" christian, you know they always have a "deflection". It is ironic though, that we celebrate a holiday in the nt that isn't in the Hebrew bible and they celebrate a "birthdate" that most likley, if it is at all true, could never have been on December 25th!
I've been following your videos for several years now and enjoy them very much.
Happy Chanukah! May we be the "light" to the nations.
No offense, but if it weren't for Christians, despite their "pagan holidays" & "traditions of men", you would never have been born. Hitler would have seen to that...
That said, the New Testament requires that we Christians stand up WITH the Jews.
It requires no holidays from either religion, only that we serve Almighty God and that we shun not His Chosen Race.
I do not see where our observance of Christmas in its current form defies that...
If what you say is true about Christians not observing holidays in the NT, my thought is I can't believe how inconsistent their religion is. Not one holiday?...Really?
At least the Old Testament is in the Bible present for Christians to rely on and discover the beginning of mankind.
It's the most vital and crucial manuscript.
Also, I had no idea Hanukkah was only in the NT, yet Jews celebrate the holiday... Amazing.
Only Israelite / Jewish holidays appear in the New Testament. And it teaches that the early Christians did not cease observing these holidays. Even up to around 400 C.E., certain more pagan Christian leaders wrote letters (which we still have) saying that there were still Jews / Christians who considered Yeshua3 ('Jesus') the Messiah, but did not abandon keeping the laws of Torah, the Jewish holidays, etc... but they didn't accept the virgin birth or deity of Yeshua3.
There are records of early Catholic leaders actually killing off some of these Jewish-'Christians.'
----
Although Hanukkah doesn't appear in the Hebrew Bible (Tanakh), it is recorded as a decree of the Mosaic Court in the Talmudic texts. However, the N.T. was written before the compilation of the Talmudic texts.
Unlike what many think, however, the Talmudic texts are largely a record of decrees from the Court from BEFORE the Talmudic texts were compiled.
There are also other ancient Jewish texts - and these predate Christianity, which give the story of Hanukkah. Jews often read from these texts during Hanukkah, eventhough we don't consider these texts divinely inspired. We read it as a record of the events. It's possible to preserve a record without the text being divinely inspiried (ie: newspapers, etc..)
@omedyashar "There are records of early Catholic leaders actually killing off some of these Jewish-'Christians.'
And if the book of Acts is not pure fiction and if there really was a Paul, then he was the first Catholic ever, who sold the Hellenes a bill of goods and grew a train-wreck of a religion aside the original Jewish-'Christianity.'
hey way to keep going through the phone ringing and all. Most people stop or loose their train of thought. Well done! Phones interrupt many things and annoy me to no end. Well done! Nice perspective here. ;0)

They arnt and God hates mixed pagan worshup. Yerimayah 10:2.
Yahshua the Messiah/ Jesus was born during the feast of tabernackls/ Sukkot.
The Jewish people will never come to Yahshua if the Christians keep Christmass and Easter and spreading Anti Torahness.
