Actually, there isn't a difference between Ridley and Meta Ridley... or Omega Ridley from Prime 3. Ridley is just Ridley (obviously XP), Meta Ridley is Ridley with some robotic parts due to being defeated by Samus, and Omega Ridley is just like Meta Ridley but had been "repaired" by phazonic objects mixed with all the remaining metal.

He,like samus,had no parents. the pirates made him their top ranking generals. he then came to the colony and killed everyone. he saw samus and was about to kill her, but he stopped. samus grew up as a bounty hunter. ridley wants to kill samus to finish the job he started. but now he will be fighting samus for his life. ridley is a cold-blooded murderer who will stop at nothing until the space warrior is dead.

Ridley is just plain brutal. Whenever he's on screen, he does nothing but slaughter and destroy, but is still highly intelligent and able to carefully plan. Say what you will about other villains, but Ridley has absolutely no concern for anybody or anything.

Attacking hundreds of worlds, murdering millions, using others in inhuman experiments, and attempting to kill a 3 year old girl , but instead ends up slaughtering her parents and her home-world in front of her

thats why he is the perfect bad guy to go along with this game...the space pirate race is perceived to be self-serving by whatever means necessary making him the perfect leader, and complete opposite of what samus stands for

I agree 100%. That's why I get so annoyed when it's stated in some of the Metroid media that mother brain in the real villain. She wasn't even part of the Space Pirate organization until they invaded the Chozo world, making her sort of a n antagonist wannabe in my opinion.

That brain is a sorry excuse for a villain when compared to Ridley. My opinion will always be that Ridley is the true commander of the Space Pirates and the ultimate villain. He is just pure unrelenting evil.

@ JoeCallahan: Well game-wise, Ridley has in fact gotten at least one victory under his belt. He's the only other character besides Dark Samus to best Samus in a fight. In the Super Metroid intro, Ridley is able to incapacitate Samus long enough to steal the Metroid hatchling and accomplish his mission. He could've finished her off, but decided to escape the Ceres station before it blew.

As a true Ridley fan, I must say thanks for making this excellent video. Cool tune to go along with one of the coolest villains of our era. I only wish someday he'll take a page from the likes of Bowser and Eggman, and actually side with Samus long enough to net at least ONE victory under his belt.
