as far as I can tell , you have no need for a neutral plate until you start the 2nd unit assembly. Try this configuration next + neg + nuet . , + neg + neut. so as you can see the neutral plate is only needed AFTER a set of three plates + - +
If you really want to build an efficient setup go with a dry cell setup (lots of vids for these). Wet cells like this one will get hot and can never produce as much gas. As for this setup in the vid I have set it aside for better ideas.
Well It doesn't need to be in there. The job that it does (if I understand it correctly) is lower the voltage carried by each plate, thus helping to control high heat. They also add surface are to create gas.
Simple test HHO machine is effective or NOT. Park the car, start
engine to normal temperature, run to 1500 rpm and hold it there by
using tools or wedges. Turn ON your favorite HHO machine. Check the
RPM goes up to 1600 or more, it is GOOD. If RPM goes down or the same,
your HHO machine is ineffective, useless, and waste of time, effort
and money. Any seller will pass this test, buy their HHO machine.
(Forget the driving around wasting more gas, or read On Board Computer
Instant MPG).

What is a good plate design? And what is a good configuration? How much hho does this cell put out. I am wanting to start building some of these.
