Just got my 7.62 upper from Model 1 Sales at the gun show yesterday. It's the same one. Great prices and good builds on there part. Very happy. My gun looks like yours but with more attachments.
I have an Olympic Arms AR 7.62x39 a factory limited edition K30 SST one of only 1200 not my Olympic 223 You see me shooting in my avatar picture The AR47 = best of both worlds, AR accuracy, handling & parts + super cheep ammo with more knock down power against Meth zombies , deer , black bear and hogs. ASC brand ( formerly known as C-Mag ) are 30 round magazines that are sold with all the AR47's no matter what rifle Co such as BushM Colt Neg = 1 mag Co no beta Hi Cap mags
@darkharmonics It was a mag body, now turned into a 10/30. And I call it the "peoples republic of California". Commie means that we divide everything up equally.
@CharlieDoan I already shoot 7.62 worrier free too :) All I shoot is steel but I do feed it yugo surplus, thats right corrosive ammo. And you do relize that the round never is in direct contact with the aluminum upper? The round is directly fed into the chamber with its integrated feed ramp which is all one piece with the barrel, which is all steel. Most of us here are civilian target shooters, cleaning your gun is not a big issue its not like your gonna fight a war. Its not complicated either
Last I checked the Microlon Gun Juice is under $20. After treatment, you need to place your barrel in an oven at 750°F for 35 min to get it to start evaporating from the metal. It is an anti-friction product that requires one treatment! I treated my used AR after 500 rounds of Wolf Ammo. 4,200 plus rounds later I just use a nylon brush with a little Hoppe’s and I’m good to go. I went from a 1” group to ½” group at 100yrds after I treated my AR.
Get yourself set up with a Smith’s Vortex flash suppressor and a Vism 3x9x42 with the green laser and you may be as happy as I am! BTW, you may wish to Microlon you AR-15 7.62x39…
@OldKeyr Im more interested in getting a muzzle brake than a flash hider. But that microlon stuff is pretty expensive! Its the first I have ever heard of that product. About how long do you think one cleaning with that stuff would last?
@basketballstar0607 But you gotta be carefull because some of the brown bear is lacquer coated and it melts off in the chamber and casings begin to stick. (for ARs only to my knowledge) Also I had some old lacquer coated ammo (plastic bullets) and they would barely go into the chamber after pushing the assist and when fired the bolt would not move. (first day I got my rifle) Lucky me I didnt break and extractor or bolt. The silver bear is fine I believe. Cleaning guns is fun to me :)
Cool vid and set up, man. I just got an XM177 upper from M1S and it looks great. I've been curious about swapping calibers and your review answered probably any question I had.
@psnbigtots You should try out the round first and see for your self. I would have to disagree with that statement because accuracy depends on a lot of variables and the biggest would be the shooter. I think 7.62 SOV in a AR makes it MUCH more accurate than in a AK. (Mini 30 could be more accurate) But then again if the barrel on the AK is good quality then they are neck and neck.
@psnbigtots Most people say its inaccurate because it is usually fired from an AK which, if original not a variant, is inaccurate at far distances. Our SKS is pretty accurate as well. Ultimatley the round is accurate in a realistic engagment range within 300yds. After that it drops fast but at 300yds it has a little less energy than a 44mag point blank so it still packs a punch passed that. Im not saying it will split hairs. Overall it is an effective round IMHO.
@lasershow215 No I have not gone hunting yet. But I know deer is do-able for sure and black bear is also possible. (I recomend 154gSP ammo) There is a vid on youtube of a young girl with a medical condition who takes a black bear with the same rifle (16" barrel). [Caslins 1st Bear] <-- youtube that and you should find it.
@lasershow215 Right on bro. I would have to recomend the AR for a couple of reasons. 1) it looks cool 2) You can always get other uppers and literally have multiple rifles with one registered lower. What ever you decide to go with, put up a vid so we can see it.
I'v heard stories about a 5.56/223 AR getting torn up from steel casings. Have you had any problems with this? I to have a SKS and LOVE the 7.62X39 round, and love the AR platform so this seems like a good match for me.
@TaylorChalk I have heard these claims and I have no issues with running steel cased ammo (only 700rds though). Brass is softer than steel and "gives" more than steel, but these components are pretty tough now because the popularity of cheap russian steel cased ammo. I dont expect any problems, I have total confidence in running steel cased ammo. A malifunction may occur way down the road (+3k rds) but by then a few $ on an extractor or another $50 on a bolt is nothing. *shoulder shrug*
Got a separate video for that describing the magazines used in particular and what causes feeding problems. . To answer you question, No feed issues for me and what you see in the video is a 6.5 mag but I do have a 10rd 7.62x39 AR mag (its better explained in the video linked at the begining and end of this video) Thanks for watchin
I thought the mags were supposed to curve a tad more..........
Anyway, congrats on your upper though. Looks useful.

@Saigax12 You would be correct if that was a 30rd 7.62x39 Cproduct mag, but this is a 25rd 6.5/6.8 Cproduct mag. I got a whole video about it

I rather buy SKS to use 7.62x39mm
My SKS can feed anything and never knew what misfrire MEAN???
also upper of AR is made from Aluminium that no good when using steel cases.
7.62x39 used best for AK or SKS
5.56/.223 used for M-16/AR-15, we knew that M16 rifle is rich man gun so, it so complicate and need more Care than communist gun.
- That is my opinion and also wit 1 M16 you can buy 3-4 SKS shoot 7.62 with worry free

The Bear bullets are really good and cheap, it shoots cleaner than the wolf if you look into it.
