@Milagroscarett08 Jose Carreras no estaba en esa lista. Por eso te han dicho eso. Sobre lo de las certificaciones no creo que existan. Solamente hay opiniones que van sumando, tal como la opinión de la revista inglesa de la BBC de música clásica que te han referido. O como la misma declaración pública de Pavarotti que dijo que JDF sería su sucesor (Pavarotti estuvo tercero en la lista referenciada, así que hubo algo de pitoniso en Pavaroti también).
@Milagroscarett08 Concluyendo, no hay certificaciones en sí, solo méritos y opiniones que se van acumulando. Y JDF ya parece tener acumuladas algunas opiniones en ese sentido, que trascienden a las de sus propios conciudadanos. Pues no es por nada pero muchas veces el chauvinismo nato de las gentes hace que perciban lo suyo propio como lo mejor. Pero es bueno cuando estas opiniones llegan de otras fuentes y países diferentes, lo que ya podría irte generando un marco de referencia.Saludos
@Milagroscarett08 Es el mejor tenor ligero o belcantista de esta epoca aunque esto parezca una apreciacion subjetiva. Ya Pavarotti lo senialo como uno de sus sucesores y Pacido Domingo lo ha mencionado como el mejor belcantista. En todo caso sabemos que es el mejor en su repertorio y que por el tipo de voz dificilmente podria incursionar en repertorios destinados a tenores dramaticos y/o a tenores spintos. En todo caso, lo mejor es oirlo y disfrutar lo demas queda al gusto de cada quien.
CICLOPEXP, creo q´en los actuales momentos el mejor del mundo es Placido Dominguez y no porque tenga un voz como la de Pavarotti por ejemplo, sino porque todas sus notas son perfectas, según los expertos. Sin embargo, Juan Diego Florez encabeza el puesto No. 13 de los mejores tenores del mundo.
@Milagroscarett08 Creo que estas confundiendo cosas eso de la posicion numero 13 para Juan Diego Florez y la posicion numero 1 para Placido Domingo es a partir de una encuesta hecha por la BBC MUSIC MAGAZINE el año 2008 entre prestigiosos crticos de musica y se refiere a los mejores tenores de la historia de la lirica mundial, de esa lista de 20 musicos solo Placido Domingo y Juan Diego Florez estan vivos y pues Placido Domingo esta semiretirado asi que Juan Diego es el mejor hoy en dia
@KOSMOS390 Florez has a different type of voice from Pavarotti: Pavarotti was a full lyric tenor, and he eventually moved to spinto roles - a stronger, heavier voice. Florez is a leggiero tenor - lighter voice with more agility and easy high notes; great for bel canto roles including those Pavarotti never attempted, but not suited for Puccini for example. But really, must everyone compare? Each great voice is unique. He is first Florez, one of the top tenors today, not next anything.

@KOSMOS390 I really love JDF - I've actually heard him live at the Met and plan to do it this year too. JDF is probably the best tenor today for bel canto repertory like Rossini, Bellini, Donizetti. In this repertory he is better than Pavarotti was IMHO, but JDF can't sing in Pagliacci or Turandot or Aida. Different voice types. In terms of popularity, JDF is already very popular among opera fans. Pavarotti got very popular when he "crossed over"; as far as I know JDF has no plans to do so.

But today he has no plans to do so. He is a top opera singer, he sings leading roles in top opera theaters and those of us who love opera get to hear his live unamplified voice now, why he is still in his prime just as we heard Pavarotti in opera in the 70s and 80s.

Por lo menos en este video, la voz todavía está en proceso de desarrollo y es notoria la falta de confianza en las capacidades vocales (el corto tiempo de exposición del sobreagudo final indica eso). Señores espectadores, sean más prudentes con sus comentarios. El tenor es bastante bueno, pero todavía no se puede decir "tiempo perfecto. voz perfecta...". Saludos
@ivangrobles Claro, me refiero al sobreagudo que funciona como cadencia y que generalmente se ejecuta en calderón, en este caso es el del minuto 4:35. Aunque eso puede adjudicarse a una indicación del director, creo que es interesante analizar las causas y repercusiones de la duración del sobreagudo de cadencia con respecto a la interpretación tradicional de la obra en la que se incluye el calderón. @zucchini2007 This is the story here with the vast majority of opera singers and classical musicians' videos. Performances that feature amazing talent and artistry get very few views. Shows that popularity and money is not the same as artistry or greatness. At least this video got quite almost a million views. Juan-Diego Florez' excellent opera performances like for example his recent Le Comte Ory performance at the Met got under 20,000 views, some under 3000.
AMAZING!! Look at how far away he's standing from those 2 mikes, and yet his POWERFUL voice resonates so beautifully throughout that venue! He truly is a world-class talent, this man has an incredible voice!!

Between and Bocelli, there is no difference. Only the one that Bocelli can sing without a microphone, and Juan Diego cannot. A shame. He is a pure pop singer.
@TsarBovov HELLO???? What planet are you on? Juan Diego Florez sings leading roles at the Met and all the top opera theaters in the world. He hardly ever crosses over to pop. I happened to have heard him live in Le Comte Ory at the Met which in case you don't know is the largest opera theater in the world, and no, it has no amplification, and Juan Diego was AMAZING! He is considered the top bel canto tenor today (even though I personally like Brownlee better, but they are both great).
@TsarBovov These are mean-spirited lies. And by the way, some of us can say the difference between an amplified voice and unamplified voice. Have you ever been to the Met? I seriously doubt it. The Met only uses amplification for 1. Duoglas Adams operas like Nixon in China or Dr Atomic as per composer's wishes 2. special effects like dragon in Siegfried as indicated in Wagner's notes (they used megaphone) 3. spoken dialog sometimes 4. backstage voices if sets interfere with acoustics.

FYI: amplification requires a lot of work, adjustments, doing it in secret is impossible.

As to the Teatro Real, the performance was recorded, there was an issue with the feedback to the theater and - surprise, surprise - the audience immediately heard the difference. And if you read discussion of Teatro Real, then you read the post from an audio engineer explaining the impossibility of secret amplification.

Additionally, his voice has this special ring called "squillo" that allows him to be heard. Regardless, the fact that you think that Bocelli's voice is bigger shows that your ears aren't as great and makes one wonder if you are working with opera. What exactly do you do? As to Berlin, I wonder is some of those Eurotrash productions interfere with acoustics.

Opera singers are not amplified. Don't you realize that there were no amplification devices around when many operas were originally written?

I have worked with people who do those kind of installments, and I can tell you that even singers like Kaufmann are using it. There are even videos here on youtube of amplification scandals (search for Escándalo en el Teatro Real). There is even one with Florez. And of course, in old times, there was no amplification, and it was not needed cause poeple with tiny voice like JDF were not allowed to sing opera.

He said that amplification in a building built for acoustics is very difficult; that hidden small mics have poor pick up range and pick up noise from clothing - ever thought why mics are so obvious on Broadway, that there is a lot of work involved in amplifying musical theater to ensure balance and doing it in secret is impossible.
@TsarBovov Opera houses don't use amplification. The theater where Santa Fe Opera performs recently installed amplification. It is for other events that use that venue. SFO put a statement on their website saying that there is no amplification of singers at SFO. They wanted audiences to know that while the theater has amplification, it IS NOT USED FOR SFO PERFORMANCES.

Bocelli's recital was purely a money-making venture, as AB is no opera singer. Popularity and greatness are two different things. Bocelli is popular, but he does not have the voice, technique, or volume to be an opera singer. Real opera singers sing roles in complete operas in legitimate opera houses, not isolated arias the way Bocelli does.

Gracias x la aclaración Victormanueificatión. Creo q' el Tenor José Carreras de España también está vivo. Lo q' me gustaría saber es quien certifica q' Juan Diego Florez es el mejor del mundo? ¡ojo! no tengo nada en contra de Juan Diego, por el contrario me fascina su voz y hasta ahora no he escuchado una interpretación de Granada mejor que la de él. @Milagroscarett08 Jose Carreras no estaba en esa lista. Por eso te han dicho eso. Sobre lo de las certificaciones no creo que existan. Solamente hay opiniones que van sumando, tal como la opinión de la revista inglesa de la BBC de música clásica que te han referido. O como la misma declaración pública de Pavarotti que dijo que JDF sería su sucesor (Pavarotti estuvo tercero en la lista referenciada, así que hubo algo de pitoniso en Pavaroti también).

@Milagroscarett08 Concluyendo, no hay certificaciones en sí, solo méritos y opiniones que se van acumulando. Y JDF ya parece tener acumuladas algunas opiniones en ese sentido, que trascienden a las de sus propios conciudadanos. Pues no es por nada pero muchas veces el chauvinismo nato de las gentes hace que perciban lo suyo propio como lo mejor. Pero es bueno cuando estas opiniones llegan de otras fuentes y países diferentes, lo que ya podría irte generando un marco de referencia.Saludos

@Milagroscarett08 Es el mejor tenor ligero o belcantista de esta epoca aunque esto parezca una apreciacion subjetiva. Ya Pavarotti lo senialo como uno de sus sucesores y Pacido Domingo lo ha mencionado como el mejor belcantista. En todo caso sabemos que es el mejor en su repertorio y que por el tipo de voz dificilmente podria incursionar en repertorios destinados a tenores dramaticos y/o a tenores spintos. En todo caso, lo mejor es oirlo y disfrutar lo demas queda al gusto de cada quien.

CICLOPEXP, creo q´en los actuales momentos el mejor del mundo es Placido Dominguez y no porque tenga un voz como la de Pavarotti por ejemplo, sino porque todas sus notas son perfectas, según los expertos. Sin embargo, Juan Diego Florez encabeza el puesto No. 13 de los mejores tenores del mundo.

@Milagroscarett08 Creo que estas confundiendo cosas eso de la posicion numero 13 para Juan Diego Florez y la posicion numero 1 para Placido Domingo es a partir de una encuesta hecha por la BBC MUSIC MAGAZINE el año 2008 entre prestigiosos crticos de musica y se refiere a los mejores tenores de la historia de la lirica mundial, de esa lista de 20 musicos solo Placido Domingo y Juan Diego Florez estan vivos y pues Placido Domingo esta semiretirado asi que Juan Diego es el mejor hoy en dia

@KOSMOS390 Florez has a different type of voice from Pavarotti: Pavarotti was a full lyric tenor, and he eventually moved to spinto roles - a stronger, heavier voice. Florez is a leggiero tenor - lighter voice with more agility and easy high notes; great for bel canto roles including those Pavarotti never attempted, but not suited for Puccini for example. But really, must everyone compare? Each great voice is unique. He is first Florez, one of the top tenors today, not next anything.

@KOSMOS390 I really love JDF - I've actually heard him live at the Met and plan to do it this year too. JDF is probably the best tenor today for bel canto repertory like Rossini, Bellini, Donizetti. In this repertory he is better than Pavarotti was IMHO, but JDF can't sing in Pagliacci or Turandot or Aida. Different voice types. In terms of popularity, JDF is already very popular among opera fans. Pavarotti got very popular when he "crossed over"; as far as I know JDF has no plans to do so.

@KOSMOS390 (cont) Yes, you are absolutely entitled to your opinion, and if Florez (or any other top tenor today) choose to "cross over" and do these concerts in the arenas, he'll most definitely become extremely popular. But today he has no plans to do so. He is a top opera singer, he sings leading roles in top opera theaters and those of us who love opera get to hear his live unamplified voice now, why he is still in his prime just as we heard Pavarotti in opera in the 70s and 80s.

Ganz nett. Jedoch im Vergleich zu Fritz Wunderlich, hört es sich an wie ein Bademeister am Strand. Was nicht böse gegen Florez gemeint ist.
Fritz Wunderlich war und ist, ein bisher unerreichbares Ereignis. Die Wärme, und die Lebendigkeit, welche Fritz Wunderlich in seiner Stimme ausgestrahlt hat, wird wohl kaum jemals wieder zu erreichen sein.

Por lo menos en este video, la voz todavía está en proceso de desarrollo y es notoria la falta de confianza en las capacidades vocales (el corto tiempo de exposición del sobreagudo final indica eso). Señores espectadores, sean más prudentes con sus comentarios. El tenor es bastante bueno, pero todavía no se puede decir "tiempo perfecto. voz perfecta...". Saludos

@ivangrobles Claro, me refiero al sobreagudo que funciona como cadencia y que generalmente se ejecuta en calderón, en este caso es el del minuto 4:35. Aunque eso puede adjudicarse a una indicación del director, creo que es interesante analizar las causas y repercusiones de la duración del sobreagudo de cadencia con respecto a la interpretación tradicional de la obra en la que se incluye el calderón. @zucchini2007 This is the story here with the vast majority of opera singers and classical musicians' videos. Performances that feature amazing talent and artistry get very few views. Shows that popularity and money is not the same as artistry or greatness. At least this video got quite almost a million views. Juan-Diego Florez' excellent opera performances like for example his recent Le Comte Ory performance at the Met got under 20,000 views, some under 3000.

lol los tiempos de los "Zares Bovos" no llegarán nunca y como saben que eso será así usan el traductor de google para traducir su ruso al ingles, luego atacan a importantes cantantes de ópera creyendo que así lograrán salir del anonimato.. lamentablemente, cuando escupen al cielo se les suele regresar a su propio rostro... de verdad solo me resta decir que se pierde tiempo leyendo comentarios torpes.

@TsarBovov HELLO???? What planet are you on? Juan Diego Florez sings leading roles at the Met and all the top opera theaters in the world. He hardly ever crosses over to pop. I happened to have heard him live in Le Comte Ory at the Met which in case you don't know is the largest opera theater in the world, and no, it has no amplification, and Juan Diego was AMAZING! He is considered the top bel canto tenor today (even though I personally like Brownlee better, but they are both great).

@TsarBovov These are mean-spirited lies. And by the way, some of us can say the difference between an amplified voice and unamplified voice. Have you ever been to the Met? I seriously doubt it. The Met only uses amplification for 1. Duoglas Adams operas like Nixon in China or Dr Atomic as per composer's wishes 2. special effects like dragon in Siegfried as indicated in Wagner's notes (they used megaphone) 3. spoken dialog sometimes 4. backstage voices if sets interfere with acoustics.

@TsarBovov You claim you know - big difference; not to mention that you've never even been to the Met (have you?). I live near NYC and I've been going to the Met for over 20 years. There is a difference between amplified sound and unamplified sound; the sound coming from singers on stage and from speakers. When Dr Atomic and Nixon in China were amplified, you could hear it. Amplification on Broadway takes a lot of work and is impossible in secret and in a building built for acoustics.

Seriously, when the Met uses amplification - like for Dr Atomic or Nixon in China, they clearly said it, and one could hear it. When NYCO was in a building with bad acoustics and they had to use subtle amplification in areas where there was bad sound, it was well known and discussed. FYI: amplification requires a lot of work, adjustments, doing it in secret is impossible.

@TsarBovov I trust my own ears, I've been going to the Met for over 20 years, not to mention to Mariinsky in the 60s and 70s.. I don't know about acoustics in Berlin or Garnier. As to the Teatro Real, the performance was recorded, there was an issue with the feedback to the theater and - surprise, surprise - the audience immediately heard the difference. And if you read discussion of Teatro Real, then you read the post from an audio engineer explaining the impossibility of secret amplification.

@TsarBovov Have you ever heard Florez live? I bet not. He is a leggero and the operas he sings in don't have heavy orchestration. Additionally, his voice has this special ring called "squillo" that allows him to be heard. Regardless, the fact that you think that Bocelli's voice is bigger shows that your ears aren't as great and makes one wonder if you are working with opera. What exactly do you do? As to Berlin, I wonder is some of those Eurotrash productions interfere with acoustics.

@TsarBovov It's interesting that you are a vocal coach, because I know personally a vocal coach who works with singers at the Met (I can even give the name in private and she'll confirm it), and she clearly confirmed that there is no amplification at the Met. It's surprising to me that a vocal coach doesn't understand what squillo is.

@TsarBovov I'm sure jewelmarkess would have heard the distortion of voices caused by amplification if amplification was used at the Met. Amplified voices and unamplified voices sound quite different. Opera singers are not amplified. Don't you realize that there were no amplification devices around when many operas were originally written?

@arpeggio1358 Sorry to say so, but this person does not know much about amplification. I have worked with people who do those kind of installments, and I can tell you that even singers like Kaufmann are using it. There are even videos here on youtube of amplification scandals (search for Escándalo en el Teatro Real). There is even one with Florez. And of course, in old times, there was no amplification, and it was not needed cause poeple with tiny voice like JDF were not allowed to sing opera.

@TsarBovov You've been reading too many blogs. Do you have any idea how difficult it would be to amplify one singer and niot have the other singers miked? Please read something other than blogs written by people who have no idea what they're talking about. Please reply to my previous comments about Bocelli at the Met and amplification at Santa Fe Opera.

@TsarBovov (cont.) to clarify the last point. There was a post once from a professional sound engineer who does amplification for musical theater. He said that amplification in a building built for acoustics is very difficult; that hidden small mics have poor pick up range and pick up noise from clothing - ever thought why mics are so obvious on Broadway, that there is a lot of work involved in amplifying musical theater to ensure balance and doing it in secret is impossible.

@TsarBovov Opera houses don't use amplification. The theater where Santa Fe Opera performs recently installed amplification. It is for other events that use that venue. SFO put a statement on their website saying that there is no amplification of singers at SFO. They wanted audiences to know that while the theater has amplification, it IS NOT USED FOR SFO PERFORMANCES.

@TsarBovov If the Met has amplification, why didn't they amplify Bocelli when he sang a recital there? He sure needed it. Bocelli's recital was purely a money-making venture, as AB is no opera singer. Popularity and greatness are two different things. Bocelli is popular, but he does not have the voice, technique, or volume to be an opera singer. Real opera singers sing roles in complete operas in legitimate opera houses, not isolated arias the way Bocelli does.

@TsarBovov Bocelli is the pop singer. JDF is an oepra singer. Bocelli can't sing w/o a mic. Look at him singing in a Met recital w/o a mic. He sounds like an amateur and can't be heard.

@TsarBovov Listen to Peaqrl Fishers duet with Bocelli and Terfel on YT. It's amplified so that Bocelli can be heard. Terfel's voice sounds quite distorted because of the amplification, as he does not need a mic. BTW, what live operas have you attended and where?
