may i ask, why do loads of people who do warhammer on youtube use vallejo or reaper paints?? surely the GW paints are better cosidering they are designed for the models they sell?? o.o just wondering anyway
I know what you mean about mould lines. I have cleaned up 45 Termagant bodies, 40 Hormagaunt Bodies, 44 Hormagaunt scything talons, 1 Warrior body, 1 Trygon, Countless Rippers, and put all of the Gants/ Gaunts on bases... you get the idea. I'm working the challenge right along with you Christopher! I'll see if I can't get a video up before Dungeons and Dragons tonight. (It'll be my first vid ever, so I hope it doesn't suck.) I've been working for about a week and a half by the way...
@insanedaemon oh yeah, I forgot about the 18 completed assembly Genestealers, and 10 of my Ymgarl Genestealers, the Doom of Malan'tai, and 10 Gargoyles...
I am a total newb when it comes to mass production minis. I figure im up for the challenge but at a smaller scale. can you recommend a site to purchase the figures at a reasonable cost. I would like to save a little money just for the simple reason it will more or less be my first project. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
hey dude, just thought I'd let you know that im going to follow along with my Chaos Marine army, but i'll start when you start the painting because i have them assembled and primed already.
haha The gw mold lines on plastics these days are atrocious. Not bad at all getting the bits for 48 horsemen cleaned up in 4 hours. Looking forward to the next video!
Hi Chris, I am always asking me, what would be the best way to do first. Is it assemble -> primer -> paint, primer -> assemble -> paint or is it primer -> paint -> assemble the miniatures? What do you prefer?
@MrCoyote6666 If you mean for each figure, its always assemble then prime, then paint (except on occasions where I can't access the whole figure during the painting process then it's prime, paint, assemble). If you're referring to how I do entire armies, I tend to bounce back and forth between painting and assembly. It helps relieve the boredom of doing the same thing over and over and over again.
Gosh arn't you a nice fella!

Well if you have spare glade guard you should convert them to hero's it saves money and your spare mini's.
I run units of 15 converting the one extra model to be a hero I have 8 hero's and never have to use the same hero twice in a row.

Nice idea but it would be more interesting IMO that you make actually tournament list and try to paint it in that period of time

I do not envy you having to clip and clean all those models at one time. Keep at it and I can't wait to see some of these models with paint on them.
