I feel that Canada needs to triple it's commitment to our Military spending.

I believe the world would benefit from more Canadian Military presence.

I expect it has a lot to do with two things.....maturity and honour. I served with the CF for 20+ years and believed all the anti-USA crap (military) stuff I had heard... until I was on exercise with US Forces. Turns out they were just like me and some pretty damn nice people to boot. As I matured I came to realize that soldiering is a calling like any other (though with a higher price to be paid than most) and anyone wearing the uniform deserves my respect as I would expect it from them. Your comment is correct in the fact that most of the equipment used is from other countries... that's because Canada doesn't produce weapons, and therefore has to buy from the countries that do. We do our own modifications, but the majority is taken from our NATO allies. I don't know what your point is, but it's irrelevant to this video.

as for your info, we don't drive humvees, we use the g wagons now, we don't use the challengers, we use leos and leo IIs. We use C7 and C8s because they're produced by diemaco, which is a Canadian company and ya, they're similar to the M16 and M4, who cares?

I do not know where you get your info but you are a little off. All of our surface fleet was designed, and built in Canada. We do not nor have we ever operated any Perry class frigates. Same as we have never owned or operated Apaches.Our land vehicles either are designed in Canada or bought from European firms.We also used British churchill tanks in WW2. As for the navy bases,they were in Newfoundland which wasn't part of Canada at the time. I suggest you read a book and not just look at the pic
