Of course Petrucci revolutionized (and Dream Theater), but in Progressive Metal. And it doesn't matter, did Gilbert revolutionized anything? I don't think so and it doesn't mean that he's bad. And if you say that Petrucci doesn't have better feeling or technique you're so fucking wrong. If you see watch?v=FwWU60L6mDo you'll know what I'm talking about. Petrucci is for me the best of our time.

I agree that petrucci is terrifying and a badass guitarist. Gilbert has revolutionized a lot of ways people think about shredding and its techniques, though. You can't argue against that.

On the DVD after Paul's solo Joe starts them doing little solo tradeoffs. That's the part I like best. They all get to share their styles and interact together on the song.

fretboard it's not as hard as you think, if you can get to one of their shows. I saw Paul in UK in November 08. Wasn't gona stick around, but some random guy said Paul was coming out soon, so i thought why not. Took an hour, but to meet one of my biggest inspirations not long at all. He came out, had pictures and signed stuff, amazing guy. Take the opportunity as it arises :)

i remember i met joe satriani at the Grove of Anaheim in Anaheim, Ca and even after meeting and greeting with a bunch of guests and playing a long ass show, he still had the patience and everything to meet with the fans waiting outside who couldn't afford to be in the VIP guest thing.

He's such an awesome guy he was willing to sign my shirt and shake my hand and talk about the show and everything. Naturally i was amazed i met the legend. he's an amazing guy.

I know youll hate me for this. But i prefer buckethead. NOT because hes better, because all of these guys are much faster, but he plays more harmonics and styles then everyone of these guys put together and WAY more insturments. At metal these guys beat him, but he beats all of them overall
