  • I NEED the soundtrack to this film.

  • this movie is amazing kool johnnie is awsome

  • No matter how much I try I really struggle to like Christian Bale. Even after seeing this movie.

    LOVE Jonathan and Ewan though.

  • This song always makes me cry

  • @SuperPickledpepper exactly same here

  • I had to get this movie for my first college class in decadence literature. it was amazing! I love this film and its music!

  • omg batman took it in the ass!!!!!

  • @CassieDynomite Only REAL men take it up the ass ;)

  • this movie is so marvelous..... I love it so much!!!!!!!!!! and the soundtrack is to die for!!!

  • One of the scene I liked the most: (spoiler) actually, this sequence is seen through Arthur's eyes : as he watch the new Brian Slade on stage, he sees the 70's Maxwell Demon. We can assume that it wasn't the actual show at all and that this scene is a pure illusion in Arthur's mind: only him recognizes Slade and the public just clap hands in total ignorance !

  • @rocksinoo OR... it's just another fantasy part of the film or a musicvideo that Slade did back then (like the part where they play The Ballad of Maxwell Demon in the dollhouse). And then it appropriately cuts to Arthur to continue the story.

  • @TheFubbick What I think is that most of the movie could even be Arthur's fantasy as the other characters tell him the story of Brian Slade. This scene is completely disconnected to the story in any cases, so to me it seems logical that it is actually Arthur's perception of the new Brian Slade on stage, and thus it is linked to the story telling again. The whole point of the movie is the perception of the artist,if it was just some rando musicvideo put here for no reason, it would disappoint me.

  • Jonathan actually is a very good singer, I wonder why he never really took advantage of that talent.

  • Jonathan's singing sounds a lot like Marc Bolan.

  • "of course you are pleasantly surprised"

  • Takes me back to my college days, the best days of my life!!!

  • I had never seen such a united beauty: Jonathan that way made up, moving as if he was the music ... exciting... the scene evades me totally of the reality.

  • wonder what kind of boa that is.

  • ♥♥♥

  • It's an amazing movie!! And i love the soundtrack.... too crazy... real....it has everything :)

  • YOU SEE THAT GLITTER ON HIS FACE? That's natural, he doesn't need Halloween crap, only what his mama gave him! ;D

This is so beatiful and happiness-radiating everytime I see it. :) The theater thing he is in is just MAGNIFICANT! I hope to dance in the glitter that the sky poors on me in the future... ♥

  • @geligniteandlilies- I totally agree- blessing in disguise. Same with Hedwig and the Angry Inch- they originally wanted to sing "You Light Up My Life" in German for the last song, but couldn't get the rights. So glad they didn't- otherwise we wouldn't have Midnight Radio, one of the greatst songs ever

  • this film change my life.........

  • its sad but i shed a tear at this bit so much emotion great great movie :)

  • The perfect actor to play the biggest idol of my life.

  • Geligniteandlilies what did bowie say no too, this has always seemed like a bowie story to me i bout this movie like 3 yrs ago and have watched a it a million times, but it was suppose to actually be bowies music or something? im just wondering. I love that placebo played that t-rex song in this movie but the movie was filled with great music i even got the soundtrack to it as well

  • @itsBrandonful Bowie wouldn't let them use his music. Which ended up being fine with Todd, it helped the story/mood. On a personal note, him saying no all those years ago changed my life for the better in introducing me to Steve Harley and Marc Bolan. :)

  • Just in case my first post was unclear (I was running out of characters and had to condense) -- Original version... title = TUMBLING DOWN group/artist = COCKNEY REBEL singer/songwriter = STEVE HARLEY album = PSYCHOMODO release date = 1974 duration = 6:00 minutes rating = AWESOME :) Again, the cover for the movie was pretty good, but I was so happy to discover the original. Check it out!
  • Steve Harley wrote the song, and not for the film.

  • @Saladrazalahalahaz Yep It's one of Steve's best songs take from The Psychomodo album can not believe the song is nearly 37 years old.

  • that scene just gives me goose bumps...

  • make a wish

  • can anyone tell me who wrote this song? :)

  • @keffsgy I think Carter Burwell wrote the soundtrack for the film.

  • @Glamrockbabe Steve Harley wrote the song.

  • @Glamrockbabe

    thanks!

  • DAMN IT I CRIED.

  • I will mangle your mind.

  • i remember when i first saw this at the :45 bit was like WTF?!

  • Is this a famous poem or something?

    i love it so much!

  • @BlueZephyr16 It's a song by Cockney Rebel taken from there Album The Psychomodo. The original is nearly 37 years old.

  • I hope adam lambert doesn't cover this.

  • @WolfmanToldmeToBilo hahahahaha

  • "I will mangle your mind." No matter how many times I see this movie I still get the shivers when they say that. <3

  • Lets see Adam Lambert cover this one!

  • @Newtwist75 FUCK NO

  • Perhaps a bit out of Adam's realm of talent?

  • Batman is gay...For Obi Wan Kenobi...

  • love it!

  • like a peppermint eaten away

  • so lovely and sweet... the expression on their faces

  • What a wonderful movie *-*

  • Best music film ever. thom yorke is god by the way.

  • BELLISSIMO. PUNTO.

  • BELLISSIMO. PUNTO.

  • I love this movie! I bought it about a month ago and it was amazing!^^

JRM, Ewan and Christian are great actors!

  • @Soundi5 I bought the VHS many years ago. Then i got the DVD. Got the soundtrack CD, too. In fact, thinking back, i got the CD first (never having seen the film), then i just had to see it. Superb! I grew up in the 70's with the original glam rock movement, so i couldn't fail to like it. A true classic, that should've been much bigger than it was! I love it... \m/ (:o)

  • @klistarf Lucky bastard to have grown up in that era. I'm so incredibly envious.

  • Thank god music keeps evolving - would have been a shame if glamrock was skipped and never had its time

  • I just tried to watch part of Liquid Sky and I had to come watch this to make me feel better.

    Mmmmmm, VG. <3

  • La belleza en esta pelicula no tiene limites, Arte puro en cada minuto de esta pelicula.

JRM es prueba de la belleza de la cracion.

  • Is it really him singing. I know Meyers and E.M can both sing. So wondering? I know Shudder To Think did a few great songs for this movie :).

Great direction this movie is under. One of the classics :).

  • i really love this movie...the music is really amazing.

  • this song always makes me cry

  • This movie is a 100% emotion and pure visual art. Amazing.

  • Mr. Meyers is so beautiful. Especially when he's blue.

  • che emozione questo pezzo...fa piangere :(

  • FUCKING EPIC MOVIE!!!

    i LOVED IT

Jonathan Meyers is so BEAUTIFUL i LOVE him XD

i have newfound respect for him

first movie i saw him in was "the soloist"

but this ... oh MY GOD .... one of the best actors ive seen ... juts ugh wow ...

  • watched this movie 3 weeks ago, still suffering ´cause of my ex girlie....had some beers in my head, and it was on tv. next day, ordered it from amazon^^ this is so pure, can´t describe it. also watch donnie darko directors cut, folks. death is just 1 bullet away. keep on dreamin

  • Am i the only one who got confused by the Make a wish bit???? I love this film... but i got confused a few times hahahaha JRM was SO HOTTT =P

  • haha ya im confused too on some parts ... i wish someone would explain it to me lol ... like the spaceship, and the green emerald, and the wish, and what is "max rockwell"? is that like his nickname or something i have no idea lol haha - someone explain! but other than that love this movayy! :) hehe

  • Max Rockwell is Brian Slade, after he faked his own death and and came back, under a different name.

And the green emerald (is there any other kind?) is the Glam Rock, which was brought by the spaceship, and is the embodiment of Glam Rock.

    Methinks. If I remember correctly.

  • As Barnox said, I think the space ship dropped off baby Oscar Wilde with the green emerald, which he then wore as a child. Then, 100 years later when Jack Fairy was being beaten up, he found the emerald, which he then gave to the reporter guy (who met him when reporter guy was a teenager), which he gave to the deranged rock star, who then tried to give it to reporter guy as an adult who declined it.

I think. I'm gonna have to watch it carefully now to make sure :P

  • beautiful!

  • Zbožňuju tenhle song...

  • super beautiful

  • What is, and why on earth would it be, supposed to be a joke?

  • do you want to comd down!?

  • ...beg your pardon?

I still don't get what's supposed to be the joke o__o

  • i guess you didn't saw the film... it's just the character he plays who has a very glitter- and glamourous taste concerning clothes and outfits...so, no it's not a joke.

i think when you watch the movie, you'd better understand it^^

  • ohhh so sorry! lol feel so stupid

  • <3 so beautifull

  • Me encata esta cancion.. tanto como Jonathan Rhys Meyers..

  • siiiiiiiiiii ^^

  • I lost my virginity to this song. I had gay gay ass sex with a man.

  • I always wanted to lost my virginity to this song but somehow I end up with another song.

  • Does anyone know where I can find the Velvet Goldmine version of 2HB sung by Thom Yorke? Cant find it anywhere on here :( Its a stunning rendition. Tried to make my own video of it using pictures from the film but it wouldnt work :(

  • I think I have it, private message me back with your email , and I'll send it, i just think they called it something else on the soundtrack.

if its not the right one i applogize grately.

  • Thank you Spike but, I have it now. I really appreciate your kind offer though. Best wishes :)

  • Sólo debemos buscar bellas impresiones. Ahí está el secreto de la vida bella, la vida verdadera.

  • one of the best movies ever

  • Harley, performed by Radiohead - who could ask for more.

  • Jonathan, the guy who plays Brian of course, well I just watched him on August Rush but I love him more in this movie. I mean, whats not to love about him on that movie? The hair, the make up, the glitter, the glam outfits, the male on male action (this one mostly. ;)? Really, that's why I loved it so much. Great, great movie.

  • man they did a great job making him sound like bowie. though no one can come close enough to the greatness that is bowie

  • see her tumbling doooooownnnn....

  • ive listened to this song about 1000 times in 1 day. why cant it go on longer

  • @muzza798 RE "ive listened to this song about 1000 times in 1 day. why cant it go on longer"

The original version DOES go on longer -- six full minutes. This is not a bad cover, but it only contains two of the three verses, and it completely skips the song's phenomenal ending. You can easily find it here, or buy it from iTunes. There are some live versions floating around also, which are fine, but I'd recommend first hearing the 1974 studio version (Cockney Rebel, "Psychomodo").

  • I agree its such a beautiful song I wish it would last forever sometimes.

  • is this a bowie song redone or soming or is it an original from the film

  • It's a song done by Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel. I love that they included it on the soundtrack. Cockney Rebel hardly gets any recognition. I personally thought they were amazing.

  • i totally agree, the whole soundtrack is amazing alot of the songs cockney rebel did. Sebastian, come up and see me, this one and i think babys on fire and needle in a camels eye is brian emo. the whole cd and film is amazing.

  • Yeah, love all the songs in this film too (: The guy who sings Baby's on Fire & Needle in the Camels Eye is Brian Eno. There are also two other songs on the film which he sings which are Dead Finks Don't Talk & The Fat Lady of Limbourg. Really brilliant songs (Y)

  • He's Brian Eno (not Emo). I agree

  • @liefthestrange I am so glad Bowie said no and Todd used other artists. I mean I love the Bowie, but it let some other lesser known acts shine. I loved this movie so much I started getting into other artists like Marc Bolan and Steve Harley. Cockney Rebel WAS and still is amazing.
