  • I followed your recipe and my dough was sticky. I kept sprinkling flour on it while kneading. It raised nicely twice but it tore easily when stretching it out. Any suggestions as to what may have happened?

  • Excellent Excellent Excellent!! And the instructions are perfectly explained. Thank you so much for being my one and only GO TO youtube chef. May God continue to bless your kindness and hard work.

  • I must say Mrs. Sady, your recipes are excellent! Having made your french bread and being super excited about the results, I tried your pizza dough recipe since I just couldn't get my own mix right. Excellent dough! I gave a pizza to a guy in my town who is building a new store and wants to sell pizza from a small kitchen in the back. Not only did he like the pizza, but he offered me the spot! How cool is that!? Inspired by the rave reviews of some people in town, I tried ur cinnamon rolls.

  • Great dough, thanks Susan!

  • that's pretty awesome that you throw a bunch of flour in during your knead. in fact you didn't at all. excellent

  • If you like a crust with big air pockets, don't roll the dough. You oven is hot enough. I usually bake at 400F which is just over 200C. If the crust was too big for you, divide the dough into smaller (more pieces) units, round them as in the video, and make sure that you let them rise/rest (covered) until they at least one and a half times in size.

  • I really love your recipe. I tried stretching the dough, but the crust was too big, then i tried rolling the dough and it was great thin pizza. Except i really wanted the crust to have small bubbles, but there almost none of them. Maybe you know how could i get those bubbles to pop? I have an oven which goes only to 250C. Maybe the temperature is too low?

  • 1/2 cup lukewarm water 2 teaspoons yeast 1 teaspoon sugar 3 cups flour 1 TBS olive oil 2 teaspoons salt 1 1/4 cups water Yeast mixture

  • Wow... Thank you. 4 the tutorial. For the first time ever I made pizza... I had an idea but never had done it... And we all loved it... What's next?

  • Nice! :-)

  • what's the best way to freeze the overload of dough?

  • to me i just put flour in a bowl and i add water and sometimes food coloring(just to give it color)but i dont eat it

  • Great Vid!!! Learned some new tricks..

  • What happens if you rip the dough during the part where you made the big circle shape and crust and stuff? Is there a way to fix it?

  • @James0roll1 Small tears can be patched together, but for major repairs, you may need to re-round the dough and let it rise again. If you try to stretch the dough when it isn't ready, it will tear. Good luck.

  • Saw this video today and went out and got the ingredients (£15) and made pizzas.

I didn't follow the guidelines strictly but was well pleased with the results.

Criticisms from the three boys were: Tomatoes on base needed to be liquidised.and it was too cheesy.

That said the amount that I actually made could have fed an army so it isn't an expensive hobby and will make some more next week.

Thank you Susan you've been a great help.XX

  • I only need one of that big piece... how should I measure the ingredients?

  • @PinkLilyGarden Hey! I divide the recipe in two, then I get two big pieces. I gues you could divide it by four and get one ;)

  • awesome

  • Do you have any tricks to making a good pizza sauce?

  • Great video! I am gonna make this dough today for my kids to be able to make their own pizza tonight. One thing I am not sure of it how long to put into the oven. The video does not show a time or on your website.

Thank for a great video. One of the best I've seen so far.

  • You look professional , and I like your dough.

  • @lugana1000 Thanks.

  • just out of curiosity what does the sugar do?

  • @assasianatorfruit When put sugar in yeast it create co2. I guest that help the dough rise.

  • Sugar serves as food for the yeast. Do not forget that the yeast is a living being and then to breed eats, drinks etc.. the secret to a good fermentation temperature is 35 degrees. for further details read my article gomestic.com/cooking/how-to-make-pizza-original-italian-recipe/

  • @assasianatorfruit Sugar is not necessary for the dough to rise as there are sugars and starch present in the flour, but to proof the yeast as I do in the video, the yeast will need some food to start growing. Sugar gives the yeast a quick source of carbs.

  • @ssady

    400 F. for howlong??

  • You made a very nice, informative vid, I made a pizza making video as well. yours is better, but I made mine from experience I made from working t a pizza place!

  • nice recipe now make me a sandwich

  • the dough looks softer than my pillow lol <3

thanks for the vid, very helpful

  • Can I make the dough, and put it seperately on a 9x13 circular pan? I have a mini oven and was wondering about it, its a Oster DIgital Oven

  • @MsBlueLay You can use a portion of the dough in a pan, just make sure to oil it first. Sorry, don't know anything about the mini-oven.

  • @MsBlueLay compliment your recipe is very good. you are very good!

  • 6:38 "our balls are rounded" LOL

  • How many cups is a pound ? Please answer.

  • @bobysoad666 1.5 pounds of bread flour is about 5 cups. It is much better to measure by weight, however. The whole recipe, is available on my website. The link is in the information under video.

  • that is some soft ass dough ^_^ !

  • Ty for reply

  • Do you have to use special flour?

  • @rayray7531 Bread flour. I like to use King Arthur.

  • Never mind...I see your links under "more"....sorry lol. Great video.

  • Amazing!! Now I will go do my very first homemade Pizza ever :))

    Thanks

  • i have a question. can i use any yeast? or the yeast you use? Comment the yeast u do please :)

  • @15Mattus I like to use active dry yeast.

  • Love it! Thanks

  • can i use baking powder ? if yes how ? thankz

  • @nungleppam No, yeast is a very different product than baking powder.

  • ssady what is yeast i donmt know what is it it is abaking powder

  • @jahangirtraffic no u idiot! yeast is a yeast,...hehhehee just kidding,.

  • @jahangirtraffic Yeast consists of micro-organisms that feed on sugars in the dough and produce carbon dioxide, making air pockets in the dough, causing the dough to rise. Yeast is killed in the hot oven.

  • @ssady OMG thats Murder LOL :D

  • you can use dough to make bread stix too cut stix and brush on olive oil garlic mixture and then bake.

  • thanks alot for video, last 2 sundays all us stoners made pizza for watching football. recipe made us 4 pizzas . i used to work at pizzaria and made many pizzas in my life. try using egg for your pizza sauce and adding bacon, sausage, mushrooms onions, olives and cheese. makes a hell of a breakfast pizza.

  • I like Pizza. Thanks for sharing this video.I will try to make myself.

  • do you add the foamy yeast foam at the top AND the liquid underneath it?

  • @MrJondread Yes.

  • How did i get here from Counter Strike Source?!

  • Thanks, this turned out great!

  • Would it be possible to use an electric mixer instead of using a spatula to combine the ingredients in the beginning?

  • @TheNarutoCrusader You can use a heavy duty stand mixer, but I would not recommend a hand held mixer - not powerful enough.

  • will this pizza dough recipe go with making a sweet dessert pizza??

  • @batocs101 Not really.

  • can i use instant yeast?

  • @harisnasir26 I don't recommend it, but you can. For more information, see my Pizza Dough Faqs blog article. The link is in the description area.

  • Where you get the utensils?

  • gdamnit, these dough balls look cute to the max!

  • shit i dont have yeast!!!!

  • i think i should say i tried the recipe and it worked. best pizza dough i've come across.

  • I separated the two large pizza's out to 8 oz a piece and 5 small pieces at 4 oz. With a 2 oz piece left over. How much was the weight of the pieces you divided. What's the normal weight of the dough for a large pizza?

  • I made a pizza last weekend and I only added 1 tsp of salt to the same amount of flour that you show and it was very salted I didn't liked it I added more flour to chance the flavor a little.

It was good... it was my first time doing pizza

  • Thank you so much for the best pizza dough recipe!

  • i had the worst pizza dough experience today. the dough was so wet from the recipe it could not be kneaded properly. i was scared to add more incase i made it tough. i should have just come here to your video. i'm favoriting this.

  • at 2:00 it looked as if u couldnt put the dough together o.oo

  • How is your dough so well incorporated right at the beginning is that just a perfect ratio of water and flour?

  • @sweetfeat1 I measure my flour by weight and try to always use the same type of flour, King Arthur Bread Flour. However, sometimes I do need to add extra flour or water due to changes in humidity, temperature, water and even flour variations.

  • f@g

  • Can the dough be frozen or kept in a fridge for a day or two?

  • @Chole154 It can be refrigerated, probably 3 days tops (depends on the temperature of your fridge and other factors). Please see my Pizza Dough FAQs page for more info on this topic. The link is in the video description area.

  • When you add yeast in pizza dough, fermentation occurs because it improves the texture of the dough.

  • Finally someone who explains the WHY of making round balls of dough etc.

  • very professional good video!

  • Can you store the dough?

  • @danawana123 Yes you can. In the fridge in a plastic bag for 1-2 days.

  • @ssady Thankkks :) Im gonna make Pizza tonight with this recipe, it will really help.

  • @ssady How about in the freezer? How long would it last there?

  • @NekoKac I just updated my Pizza Dough FAQs page and put in a section on freezing dough. It's too long to put here. The link is in the description box. Good luck!

  • @ssady Thank you for your hard work. :)

  • uhmm.. here's the thing i have a small oven, i made your recipe before but little by little... what can i do to store much more longer

  • Susan, you work against the magic of yeast & dough. 5-8 minutes of kneeding is absolutely not needed.

    Do this experiment:

    1) Combine your yeast/sugar/flour/water, and just mix it in a rough ball.

    2) Let it rise, and you will see it reaches a Maximum rise.

    3) Now kneed the dough a few times and let it rise again.

    4) Notice that the dough has risen much more thus is more flexible!

What can we conclude? That rising creates flexible dough! Let rising do the work, not your hands. rest is up 2 u

  • I made such a perfect calzone with this I've always longed for a good pizza dough recipe but this gives a nice stickbread like crust just not as cracky good stuff.

  • is it ok if i dont add yeist cuz i just want to make dough

  • Hi,How long do you have to keep the kneaded dough to a side? Pls tell me thanks

  • Queen of the dough you are.....

  • extremely helpful! Thank you, I think you are very experience, Thx

  • Music provided by Alucard...O_O

  • Help... You make this look so easy when you round the dough, I can't do it even with your video as a guide. What temp do you have for the water? I noticed you had a temp meter at the star of your video. Thanks

  • @ChumpyChicken2 it needs to be between 105 - 115 degrees

  • Excellent video...love ya work.

  • Do I have to use olive oil?

  • @lafinoutloud No, but it gives a nice flavor. You can substitute any vegetable oil.

  • That looks really good. Im gonna give it a shot.

  • Can the dough be stored if there are extras? Like in the freezer?

  • @finit2812 Please check out my Pizza Dough FAQs -The link is in the video description.

  • her kneading is like an art form

  • can i get the ingredients please?

  • @NSjunior05 The link to the full recipe is in the video description area. Enjoy!

  • can i use all purpose flour instead of bread flour? thanks

  • @ebonybon Please check out my Pizza Dough FAQs -The link is in the video description.

  • may i cook the pizza dough in microwave? because i have no oven here in my house. :'(

  • @lhadiiekhulet no its gets hard and nasty

  • balls lol

  • can i use the same ingredients using less amount of flour? for e.g if i use 2 cups of flour instead of 5 cups. should i change the other ingredient amounts as well or no?

  • @spicychick69 You definitely need to change the other ingredients as well. The easiest math would be to divide the recipe in half. Good luck!

  • Hi there,..i just want to ask if i can bake it in microwave oven? beacuse I followed the procedure and cooked it in microwave oven, after 5 mins of cooking the pizza dough it was hard like a rock... :(

  • @lawliet0408 No, this recipe is not meant for a microwave oven. Follow the recipe and method on my web site for making pizza. Best of luck to you.

  • @ssady so the reason why my dough turned into rock was because i cooked it in microwave oven?? some says i put too many yeast and less flour... have u ever tried it with microwave?

  • Thanks

  • My balls are also rounded

  • @PoesKlap133 LOL

  • Please see my article:

    susanscookingschool.blogspot.com/2009/12/how-long-does-it-take-for-dough-to-rise.html

This is a great pizza dough recipe. Thanks a lot for sharing it.

    Warm regards from Costa Rica.

  • im better at streaching :)

  • hey Susan, i think ur really a great cook!!! ;p

  • @ssady. Can I freeze the left overs dough? If I can, How should I do it and how should I taw it for other day? Also, how long can I leave the dough on the fridge if I decide to make pizza 2 times during that week?

  • @MPCCJ Check out my Pizza Dough FAQs -link is in the video description. Good luck!

  • I LOVE PIZZA!

  • @justinbieberfan5able

That is how real cooks do it! :) Her hands are clean!

  • Is it possible to use the same exact procedure you use here to make homemade bread??

  • @FromSouthforkTexas The dough may be used to make bread, but watch my French Bread video to see how to shape and loaves. Of course, not all bread is shaped the same way, but this will give you one method.

  • i want to ask you, while working in pizza place, we used to mix yeast with warm 1cup water, then add 1cup and 1/4 flower and make a sticky dough, then place it in a pizza pan, and wait for it to rise, then bake it immediately without kneeing. i guess the pizza restaurants use this methods to save them time? so do you recommend their method to make at home?

  • Thanks for the Video, My Husband And I Enjoyed the simplicity of it, and the full out - walk through. Again, thanks. :)

  • do you have to cut it into smaller peices

  • Do i have to you breaded flour or can i use all purpose?
