I hope to be able to hold a saxophone standing when I have my 80th birthday, not even dreaming to play one. Have seen Flip Phillips a few times in concert during the 80th and it always has been a pleasure. A great stage personality and even greater artist.
Flip Phillips, Scott Hamilton (ts), Randy Sandke (tp), Carl Fontana (tb), Phil Woods (as), Buddy DeFranco (cl), Derek Smith (p), Herb Ellis (g), Sean Smith (b), Butch Miles (dr)
@CrystalSkyWarrior Sorry, but It's "Spanish Eyes." Randy Sanke plays it at the end, and the pianist hints at it in the intro. Pretty much the same changes, though.

What a great line up. These guys really swing ! Love Flip Phillips relaxed style, such a shame he's no longer with us.
Many thanks for posting (any more Flip clips ? )

The tune is "Won't you come home, Bill Bailey". Session put on by Arbor Records.
Herb Ellis was still alive but fading fast.

Can you put "Sweet and Lovely" from the same date on here? that track contains some excellent Phil Woods and Bob Wilber.
