  • My favorite part of your reviews is your candor! THANK YOU! It so refreshing!

  • That Fred idiot actually has his own movie? god help us all!

  • Kermode insults some films I really like, and usually I get angry at people for it, but because it's him I just can't do it :P

  • LOL PIMP!

    PIMP!

    LOL

Yes enough of the fucking remakes

LOL 3:29 Time for your medication Mr.Kermode LOL

Yes Fred is the youtube turkey! Howard the Duck is now considered to be godfather class. lol

  • "I've already Let The Right One In. Why would I let you in?" - brilliant.

  • I feel EXACTLY the same way. Stop remaking my past. Make some freakin' original movies!

  • Let Me In was nowhere close to being one of the worse films of the year. Even though it was a pointless remake, it was well made and didnt tarnish the originals reputation, i thought it was very good and did a few things different that i liked

  • @SamHain1031666 Yeah, but it was a pointless movie. It's not terrible, it's just everything about it is worse than the original. Kermode said it best when he said "Let the Right One In is a movie about children, where one has to be a vampire, whereas Let Me In is a movie about a vampire where both happen to be children". Plus, the changes they made were things the author said he didn't want done even before the started the remake. Utterly soulless movie, but not the worst.

  • kermode is as annoying as all 5 put together..

  • The Expendables was the worst movie I saw in 2010. Unbelievably bad. It was an unintentional parody of an action movie, except without being funny.

  • MacGruber's sex scene was hilarious. Or should I say scenes, and the groundskeeper shaking his head when he sees MacGruber having sex with NOTHING in the graveyard.

  • MacGruber was excellent! Admittedly, it trailed off in the second half of the film, but plenty of laughs in the first.

  • kermode thinks being annoying can be funny - it can't, it's just annoying.

  • PIMP! was the best gag!

  • No Last Airbender? I'm surprised.

  • EAT. PRAY. LOVE. VOMIT.

  • Sex and the City 2 is a film I am actually terrified will survive into future generations, lest they infer something about us from it.

  • @ThePsilocypher You read my mind.

  • Eat, Love, Pray, Vomit.

  • 0:56 - 0:59

  • PIMP!

  • SCREAMING LIKE THIS SCREAMING LIKE THIS

  • pimp

  • Kermode is easily my favourite film critic. Why? He balances comedy and seriousness perfectly, making perfect radio listening.

  • @Alexmo555

    No one beats Roger Ebert.

He'll always be top dog in the film critic world.

  • it really did take 205 quid at the box office.

  • i feel so infantile right now.. could not stop laughing at "pimp!" whenever he said it.

  • Ha ha, most comedic critic of all time.

    PIMP!!

  • EAT. PRAY. LOVE. VOMIT.

  • PIMP!!!!!

    LOL

  • 3:28

  • If you press 9, then press 2 just at the right moment, you can make Kermode say this sentence:

'I can't actually think of anything that civilisation has achieved that's more poisonous, more repugnant, more repulsive, more retrograde, more depressing than my bottom'.

Yes it's quite immature, but hilarious.

  • Press 8 repeatedly for the funniest movie of the year.

  • SCREAMINGLIKETHIS!

  • I luv it when he says Pimp :D

  • Can't agree with him on MacGruber. It's not anything special, but as long as it lasted, it was good fun.

  • Oh man, it's too early in the morning to hear that screaming.

  • When he does the screaming Fred bit, he looks a bit like the freaky blurry faces from Jacobs Ladder

  • @surelythisnameworks I thought that too :)

  • Keep pushing 7 hahaha

  • PIMP! by DANNY DYAAAAAAAR!

  • why does he say pimp like that?

  • @thomascameron2 It's his Danny Dyer impression. He does it because Danny Dyer get extremly angry when he does.

  • Dude!!!! I love when you scream McGeeeee and PIMP but come on....You woke up my kids for christ sake. Was that necessary? I'm in the US abd enjoy Kermodes reviews because I actually think 99% is on the money as far as what I enjoy to watch but sometimes you get irritating.

  • @kpreston69 to be fair you must've had your speakers on quite loud if that's the case :P

  • Haven't seen or heard of Fred, but even from the little film clips at the side I agree wholeheartedly with the good Dr.

And just for the record, his review of Sex and the City 2 may just his best review EVER. It's here on Youtube - WATCH IT. So true.

    Long live MK

  • @Kimberleg

He references a brilliant US written review too , which is even funnier.

  • Eat, Pray, Love, Queef :)

  • (Kermode screaming) "Make it stop, make it stop, make it stop, make it stop, make it stop", etc.

  • i fucking love this guy-- talking about good movies hes insightful- but talking about bad movies hes fantastic

  • 4:00 he puts Linda Blair to shame

  • Apparently, not only will we get Pirates of the Caribbean 4 and Transformers 4, but Fred: the Movie 2, Sex and the City 3 and Pirates of the Caribbean 5 are all going to be made. Oh dear.

  • Ah ya, let me in sucks big time, good man.

  • Eat. Pray. Love. Vomit.

  • 0:56

Let The Right One In remake:

"I've already let the right one in, why would I let you in?

  • Mark Kermode is a witty, self-respecting, modest, clever, agreeable and bright mind.

  • I would trust Kermodes opinion far more if just ONCE he would show dislike for an arthouse film. Instead of only attacking the mainstream. Kind of a critic cliche. Although I havnt seen all his reveiews so maybe he has and I just havnt found it?

  • @paintballing489 Have you not heard his reviews for Cashback, Margot at the Wedding, Fantastic Mr Fox or any number of other 'arty' films? In my opinion he's one of the few critics who doesn't give such films good review out of fear of looking unsophisticated, he doesn't care what people think about him.

  • @paintballing489 He did not attack inception, the social network and other movies considered mainstream though. I see a point in his reviews most of the time. Although I do disagree with him on Star Wars (the old saga).

  • @slutbunwallah I'm not saying he attacks any film that mainstream. I'm saying about 85% of his bad reviews are films that are mainstream. And his personal taste far more favours arthouse. Which isnt the taste of the genera cinema going audience. For example like you said he hates Star Wars, and he also hates pirates of the caribbean. How can you trust the taste of a man who bad mouths films that most people like??

  • @paintballing489 Fair point mate and I hope I do not come across as arguing with you. But I did not like PoC aswell. He favours arthouse movies alot because he respects the 'art' in making movies. He considers movies as an art form and not as a cash register. He was spot on about Transformers and look how well that did. But for Skyline, it did poorly but he fairly liked it because he considered the budget and the lack of manpower for it.

  • Respond to this video... Not saying you are wrong, as a film student and a fan of experimental films I completely agree where he is coming from. He criticizes a movie as a critic who knows the art should. He does not need to sell it. He personally wants to educate the mass of dumb people to watch more movies that a worthwhile. Mainstream or not. If the movie is good, he will give it a thumbs up. Just like Dark Knight and Inception.

  • @slutbunwallah he dislikes the old Star Wars saga? Can I have a link? Haing just recently watched the prequels, I liked them when I was younger, now. Well, they are poor. Still like the older ones.

  • @paintballing489 two words. FINAL MOTHERFUCKING DAYS..... AND REVOLVER

  • @howaboutpie1 No idea what your talking about.

  • @paintballing489 you're right i'm talking rubbish. But the number 23 was an arthouse movie and mark hated it

  • lol like this list mark, but i would have to put valentines day on that list somewhere, me and my girlfriend went to see it and we left part way through the movie, the only time ive EVER done that, normally if i go see a bad movie i generally stick it out for my moneys worth but by jesus i wouldve went insane had i stayed any longer lol

  • Is Fred like the autobiography of Justin Beiber?

  • The remake of A Nightmare On Elm Street is the first film I've ever switched off half way through.

  • I enjoyed Let Me In, but the original is better.

  • press 7 haha

  • FLAPPY HANDS!!!

  • I was cracking up at the Fred screaming.

  • Cheer up Mark, looks like we've got Transformers 4 and Pirates of the Carribean 4 coming our way in 2011!

  • @zKa0sz 3*

  • @roloug95 Nope there was a Trnasformers made back in 1986

  • @zKa0sz yes but it's not apart of the same franchise so it is by default transformers 3

  • @zKa0sz they were worth waiting for

  • The funniest set of reviews I've ever seen, the first " pimp " is hilarious. Ha ha

  • LOL, pause and press 8 repeatedly

  • Hilarious! Is the ending to this review a reference to the ending of The Man Who Fell to Earth? Haha

  • Hearing Mark Kermode screaming like Fred makes it sound a lot better than it probably is.

    Oh, and PIMP!

  • I don't get the people who heavily dislike Mark Kermode's screaming. I think it accurately conveys the exact feeling one would have if they had to endure Fred: The Movie.

  • Sadly I think this will be the closest we'll get to to seeing Mark and the Other One putting up the legendary FRED: THE MOVIE vodcast review...

  • PIMP!

Oh my gosh. I can't breathe. xD

  • And the funniest mfing reviewer of the year is...

  • Kermode voted Inception his best movie of the year! What was he watching? Nice to know he's an independent reviewer!

  • @groove1971 Personally I'm not entirely sure he really believes that. I am more convinced that he chose that just to get right up Michael Bay's nose even further :)

  • @groove1971 Oh shut up, its his opinion and Inception was a great movie.

  • here is my list of worst films.

    5 the last airbender

    4 twilight eclipse

    3 pimp

2 sex and the city 2

1 fred the movie (easily the worst, by far)

  • Having not seen any of those films because I avoided them like the plague I'm pleased to see I do have some sense of taste, thanks Mark.

You should have run "screaming like this" from the theater 10 mins into Fred, did someone put a gun to your head and say you have to review this film!

  • Well... at least he didn't rant about SATC2 this time. The man keeps his promises.

  • I aren't justifying Fred with Youtube hits. I just won't do it.

  • My suggestion for worst film 2010 is a film called Humpday. Utter bilge from start to end. Mark please review this film!

  • Spot on for the No. 1 spot. That film is vile and speaking of vile and mentioning spot twice, SJP, get. Off. Our. Screens. I don't want to see your "face", especially in HD.

  • What about the A team and the Expendables? Or even Clash of the Titans.

  • Last week when he reviewed Fred The Movie on the show, I thought Mayo wasn't going to forgive him ever again for SCREAMING LIKE THIS, SCREAMING LIKE THIS!!!

  • PIMP!

No Vampires Suck? I would have thought that you'd have at least pointed it out for the films not in the list. Oh well, good list anyway.

  • @BlackMagnumFilms Was probably because Vampires Suck is such an irrelavent film he didnt even remember it.

  • Dear Kermode and Mayo, You guys rock, look forward to every review. Let me just say that I am surprised you did not have "You Again" in your top 5 worst. This movie is to Jamie lee Curtis and Sigourney Weaver (two wonderful and super talented actors) as "Old Dogs" was for Robin Williams and John Travolta.

  • your front room looks freezing

  • PIMP!

  • Yeah that's exactly what i hate too, having to explain yourself when you're talking about the original, you know, the one that was an *actual* movie.

  • GLOL!

  • PIMP!! is already being shown on Bravo... which says something for a supposed cinema release that only came out the same year... i watched it and it really was an irredeemable piece of empty worthless rot. Robert Cavanah has seemingly no career left, i actually thought Dyer may have had enough of a braincell to say No to this one, but of course he didn't, no one involved in it can hold there heads up, a truly awful waste of time.

  • The book of Eat Pray Love is not very good. It's total self-indulgent, vacuos crap like the film. The reason a lot of people say it's good is because these people are really stupid.

  • A lot of new viewers of 'Let The Right One In' will **ONLY** have seen it because they saw how good 'Let Me In' is.

If 'Let Me In' had been crap, they wouldn't have bothered to track down the original version.

  • @bobbyladd It's not about being good or bad, it's about being pointless, and remaking something that was already perfect on such a short time span makes it such.

  • @thisisverynotgood I could swear he doesn't know the difference between his own opinion and the absolute truth.

  • @thisisverynotgood film snobs dont pick summer action movies for their number one for the year.

  • @thisisverynotgood

I can defend people who claim that Kermode is highly opinionated, but a snob? He likes Twilight and the Harry Potter series, unashamedly. He called Babel "Art with a capital F." He thought Last Days was a bunch of self-important tripe. Inception is his favourite movie of 2010. I see a snob as someone who puts their standing among other film fans above actual taste, and Kermode doesn't do that - I don't always agree with him, but he is is most definitely not a snob.

  • @TheThing88 Well said man.

  • @TheThing88 Armond White is a movie critic who's actually a snob and a contrarian for the sake of being snarky.

  • PIMP!

  • Why would anyone go watch Fred the movie?

  • Comment removed

  • oh my god that was the funniest thing ever! I never comment on anything but i felt i had to say that its nearly 3 oclock in the morning and i have probably woken up the house with my laughter!!PIMP!!!

i would pay good money to see mark and danny dyer in the same room!!!

I went to see satc2 because i did like the tv programme it was a good comedy show but this was absolute rubbish lets hope they dont plan on giving us a third film

  • @superdiscodancer Did you not see the first movie then?. If you did then that should have been enough for you to not go anywhere near the sequel surely?.

  • @petertyson2 what can i say i was curious, will not be so curious the next time, still cant believe how bad it was.

  • ^Pimp!!

  • NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET was VERY deserving. An absolute travesty of a brilliant film. Thank you Michael Bay. It took an ingenious, creative film and turned it into the single lowest possible form of money-grubbing garbage. It's a film with NOTHING at its heart except a loud, ringing cash till and a true bastardization of something darkly beautiful.

  • As much as I respect the Good Doctor, his disdain for Let Me In is quite irrational. it's a solid film, nothing more, lets leave it at that.

  • @6000mphx Let Me In is a second-rate copycat film that offered nothing new to the story already told 2 years earlier, rendering it utterly redundant. Those who do not appreciate the sanctity of cinema thought it was great. Let's just leave it at that.

  • @Quarter2FourFilms

Beg your pardon Dr K & a 1/2. I didn't realise the real Kermode made you his trusty talkback troll. How lacanian of you.

  • What the fuck is with all the screaming? Jesus...

I wonder if this kind of behaviour attracts enough viewers to overlook turning me off, and viewers like me.

Then again, it looks like this is exactly what people want. >_<

  • “I can't actually think of anything that civilisation has achieved that's more poisonous, more repugnant, more repulsive, more retrograde, more depressing than Sex and the City 2” - Brilliant! Good stuff Mark...

  • PIMP!!!!!

  • Doctor K, your thoughts about Sex and the City 2 makes my day every time I hear them, all I can say is BRILLIANT!! thank you for having common sense.

  • fred the movie was easily the worst. although sex and the city 2 was a close second.

  • I'm glad to say that I haven't seen any of those films.

  • Dr Kermode, a touch of seasonal flu was chased away by you saying 'Pimp' in a higher pitched voice. Thank you, the smiles kept me from dosing up on beechams and waiting for it all to be over- the smiles you brought helped.

  • That was terrifying

  • The lack of Vampires Suck in your video disturbes me.

  • That Dyer impression doesn't seem to get old. You're the best, Doctor K.

Elm Street is my worst of the year, but I'll admit I didn't see any of the other titles listed here.

  • EAT, PRAY, LOVE... VOMIT. brilliant!

  • thank you for destroying my laptop speakers

  • Keep fighting the good fight Dr K, we will have our vengence one day.

  • Whenever I get a text message, my phone will from now on go "PIMP!"

  • I thought Kermode's review of Fred the Movie was really funny but his "Pimp!" and screaming was pretty annoying this time around. It is quite accurate to what it's like watching that movie.

  • MARK KERMODE = GOD'S GOD

  • What about Last Airbender, Furry Vengeance, or Vampires Suck?

  • ''PIMP'' - soooooooo funny!!

  • My god my whole house woke up with that screaming.

  • K is a legend

  • Well, I have not seen any of those, and will not be either.

  • @DirtTankProductions [insert Gwyneth Zellweger impersonation]

  • Dear Doctor Dodge,

Could you please splice your impressions of Danny Dyer and Fred together. I think that this would make for interesting listening in 2011.

    Yours sincerely,

    Mark (Nottingham, UK).

  • dinner for schmucks is a really nice funny film, why all the criticism

  • I'm sure glad I haven't seen any of those five films.

  • Thankfully, Sex and the City 2 bombed in North America and considering Hollywood studios look mainly at domestic grossings, we won't be subjected to a third one.

  • This was the best year of wittertainment ever.

  • I laughed so hard I cried. (Not even joking)

  • PIMP!!!

  • @MagmaStudioFilms

    DANNYDYERDANNYDYER.

  • PIMP! XD

  • @DirtTankProductions

    now my ringtone

  • Some friends and I watched pimp the other day, he got it for christmas as a joke. Doing Kermode doing Dyer the whole way through was hilarious.

  • PIMP i swear i love this guy

  • Hot Tub Time Machine.

  • I liked the bit where he talked about really shit films.

  • where was the expendables?

  • Flappy hand blur.

  • ''eat prey love'' wasn't as bad as ''shrek forever after'', that film really was bad. also that gastly ''fred'' film was easily the worst. ''sex and the city 2'' being a close second. LOL at ''PIMP'' only grossing £205, danny dyer is the most consistant actor that i know, always terrible in terrible films. also ''let me in'' wasn't bad, it was just unecessery.

  • Kermode, did you see The Last Airbender?

My worst movie of the yeare, if not ever.

  • PIMP

  • Tim Berners-Lee must have rued the horror he has wrought when he learned of 'Fred: The Movie'.

'Now, I am become YouTube, the destroyer of cinema.'

  • Am I the only person who thought 'Eat Pray Love' wasn't that bad; and was genuinly surprised it was in the bottom five.

  • Im amazed no ones pointed out how brilliant Mark's giant flapping hands were in this vid. They were out in full force :D
