what the hell? dude ur weapon has green sharpness im trying to kill this thing in (MH2dos ps2) im not a noob ive played mh (the first 1) and 3 i just want to know why the hell my weapon cant hit him properly (bouncing) im using eagercleaver (624 dmg and thunder element,green sharpness) and it doesnt matter where i hit (chest weak point) anywhere my katana just bounces and i get hit why u can hit him? some kind of skill in that armor or something? pls help -.-"

@Toshirox1 You have played Monster Hunter 1 and 3? Liar. If you did, you should know another way to defeat Basarios. Use Light Bowgun, Heavy Bowgun or Bow. Preferably a Bowgun that accepts Water S or a Bowgun with Water element.

@ninjaboy1000 usally all weapons bounce off. get a good hammer and wack his legs and stomach. also bring pit fall traps and bombs so when he falls into the trap bomb him and break his stomach

@ninjaboy1000 it's alright glad you used it ! but if you want to barely get hit, then get a bowgun with sleep bullets( best if light bowgun because they move much better) and make him go to sleep with it, then bomb the hell out of him with large barrel+!

remember to dodge when he's charging or doing beams or fireballs :)

Hmmm I never knew u can go under stomach. Im using fire dragonswrd (need lao parts but it has 750 att and 250 dragon attribute LS) against high ranked basarios in the old swamp. Wen I killed this low rank one, i used injector canno wit power barrel and zoom scope and spam water shots at him. I hav 1 small problem. Wit high rank basarios, wen I try to go under it, it teabags or farts on me lol

It is a good tip use an armor with poison negated.

Any weapon is good agains´t a basarios.But DS is harder.

killing this monster including gravios is much easier using a long range weapon so why risk your life going under when you can hit them with range like bowgun

the easiest way is probaly using bow...it kinda cheap but it help if you wanna kill him to get his armor and stuff uh if you wanna try this use the daimyo warbow 1 and then ust basicly shoot the crap out of him , around 5 minute to 10 good luck hunting

I easily kill him with Eager Cleaver I knock off its tail first and I keep hitting that same spot then when he goes to a different area with exploding rocks I make him ram into them which does kill him =). Its so funny when he dies by those rocks xD Silly Wyvern.

Green *is* superior, but not all hides/shells can be penetrated with even blue sharpness (the highest), some require the ESP skill, the psycho drug can provide i think.

ok, pretty much any weapon thats not a SnS will not pierce it no matter what the first time you fight one of these,

just use the velocidrome bite and hit the belly.

that worked for me first time i fought one

Nah bro, if you hit his underside the right way with anything it will work, I found that out the hard way, I use a GS now, very easy fight once you learn it, a long weapon like a LS hits other places BEFORE it hits his belly, that's why a LS bounces off more, but eventually, if you bounce off his belly enough, it will break, and you won't bounce off that part anymore, use a shock trap or a pitfall trap and LBB+ and SMB+ to break his shell, and use the sootstones! Easy to kill him :)

Legs don't work but I decided to go with the Poison Serpentblade, he can't even kill me once now, I learned to shock trap him, set 2 Lg Barrel Bombs, and a small one, and RUN AWAY!!!!! and to lure him into the soot stones, does free damage to him without wasting supplies. :)

Yeah, I noticed that when I was using the Black Katana Mk.1 that the sword itself is so long that it doesn't hit where I want it to hit, it hits his neck instead of his underside and bounces off, but with the Poison Serpentblade, you can trap him, or flashbomb him and pick your distance, which works fine, but my strategy above with the bombs/shock trap almost breaks his shell without having to hit him at all, but smacking him around a bit never hurts. :D
