@VampwolfTwihard The French have two words for the subject you, TU and VOUS. TU is an informal way of saying you. You'd use it with friends. VOUS is the formal way of saying you. You'd use it with bosses. The way you conjugate the verb is different depending on whether you use TU or VOUS.

So protege-moi is "protect me!" when spoken informally, and protegez-moi is "protect me!" when spoken formally. It means the same thing, the difference is in tone - informal or formal.
