good video, nice to see the area up close. Tho much of the "flooded" areas are due to rain fall. If the base was still operational, even unseen underground areas, trust me...there would be more presence and rataliation to intruders. Much like area 51, there would be senors everywhere tracking your movement and presence the second u steped foot where there was some thing going on that they did not want u to see. all the tags back this, as it is not a worry for them anymore. its a dead end now.

Pretty good man, in and up! Ive been ther a bunch over the last 15 years. Before it was a "state park" it was just busted fences and overgrown weeds. easy to go wherever you wanted. we went into the eastern bunker and explored in that for a long time.  it goes waaaaay back.. many rooms and huuuge hallways. dark, silent and big. eerie for sure. We used to roll the gian t equipment racks out of the 4th floor of the radar building. juvenile delinquents we were. Stood on top of the dish!

u guys are fucking idiots...u think they flooded the tunnel the one with the ladder? its from the rain genius ....plus its a sewer ...those buildings are officer barracks...and those are huge bunkers are just under ground they can be seen at ANY old airbase...and that small building with the breakers is the electric house...just like the electric room that can be found in any big building but this one was for a base...the radar towers are AN/FPS-35 radar towers used for a several years ...SFC

Zen ;; At 40 seconds into the video, the round tank on the left has a platform accessible from the path with a metal plate. If you kick the plate, you can hear it ring a long way down. A deep shaft of some kind and large enough for a person to get down. Following military design specs, there should be a ladder on the north wall of the shaft leading down if you lift the plate.

Hey i lived here my hole life. When i was a teen my crazy freind repeled off the top of the tower and those holes with the ladder that goes in water me and the same person scuba dived in it. It led to the cliffs to a door but the ocean took it.

I really wish that I lived near this base... I would go explore it, like really explore it.. every hole, every house every cave every waterhole... and bring cameras, unterwater diving stuff, waterproof cameras, cameras on a stick, set up cameras in houses/caves/underground over some nights, camp there in stealth mode ofc, bring my nightvision cam, tripods, digitalcam, hdcam, thermal cams.. shovels, picks, tools in general... But anyway thanks for the quick tour with your handheld.

i just got back from there today it's SO much more overgrown than it appears to be when you guys were there. i had to trek through thick brush just to get to the concrete cottage. the fence has a huge hole in it, and the lock hasn't been fixed which makes me believe they really don't maintain the area. i'm going back with a friend and actually going through it. i think it is very simple to get in, assuming someone isn't waiting by the tower to arrest you haha.

If im not mistaken, that dish is part of an AN/FPS-35 long range search radar, one of 12 that used to operate in continental united states.

Those dishes weighed in at over 70 tons, and were notorious for ruining their rotational bearings, which is probably why the dish has not moved for years. look it up in google image and flash earth and the likes. The dish is always pointing in the same direction, approx north west if i remember correctly.

@nexgenhippy You are absolutely right. The radar was an AN/FPS-35 radar tower. I should know because I worked in it for two years from 75-76. You are also right about the bearing because the used to shoot out oil all over the top floor and the only way we could clean it up was to put down Kotex Napkins all over the floor and then clean it up with triclor and water. Bottom floor was to work on our cars, second floor were the offices and third and fourth were the dual sets of transmitters.

Being the lowest ranking member when I got there I cleaned and painted every inch of that tower and there were no secrect passages or underground tunnels except for electrical and sewer aquaducts. Those bunkers were used for storage and a weight room for exercising. One of those building you have in the video was actually a basketball court and another was a two lane bowling alley. I'm running out of characters so if you want more info just ask me.

Yo ZenTurtle.....In all your exploring inside the radar tower, did you happen to come cross a bronze plaque located within the main rotor-drive of the dish, that is simply engraved with one word....."Philadelphia"? If not, you definitely need to get some footage of that

Ah yes. I remember that place? It seems someone working for US Airways was using the old PX for a stash. We found a HUGE supply of airline booze and stuff, as well as the old MWR hotdog wagon and other things. Be careful, we almost fell thru the floor in some buildings! Also, next time you go to the top of the radar tower, 4 of you grab onto the flanges for the gearboxes and turn to the left. You'll be able to rotate the dish!
