  • That guy sounds like that Why don't you have a seat? Take a seat, right over there. Guy

    Chris Hansen

  • do they need more exercise than other dogs??

  • I LOVE MY SAMMY'S...;) CAN'T WAIT 2 SEE THEIR OFFSPRING... ;)

  • we meet 240p again

  • We had a breeding pair when I was growing up. I remember every summer they'd just frolic around in the snow like there was no tomorrow and the female, when I was really little, would stand over me when there was a stranger in the room as though I were her puppy. TERRIFIC breed. Not always the brightest bulb in the shack but full of heart.

  • Aww, I miss Breed All About It. Dogs 101 is a good show, but I grew up watching this show.

  • I remember one of them was part of our family when I and my younger brother were kids, of course the Samoyed is playful as a toy and me and my brother were most of the time scared when she was trying to play with us.

At the end, she had to go because mom was pregnant :(

I miss that lil ol' sucka.

  • shut up la

  • FUCK YOU SAMOYED

  • @SamKoh56 Hey Idiot you dislike my friend's video and now you're posting this kind of comments?!!!

  • They deserve more "treats" for maintenance, the fur is self cleaning and more "treats" for watchdogness, because, when they are protecting someone, their bark seems VERY unfriendly, very load and deep.

  • 4 people don't like this video.

  • @mcliars i know! its impossible to say no to these cuties!

  • @mcliars DUH Y ELSE WOULD THEY DISLIKE IT?!? but i LOVE this video

  • I've got a samoyed. She is really stubborn but makes up for it with her cuteness and her intelligence. She taught herself how to fetch! I have to say, though, she does not shed most of the year except in the spring.

  • @SamoyedLucy they shouldn't be stubborn. that's very uncommon.

  • Comment removed

  • @SamoyedLucy stubborn????????????????

  • @TheSammy15z haha yes! Training Lucy took a lot of work. Stubborn but also very sweet and intelligent.

  • aww they look like a big pillow! <333

  • The person that suggests that Sammy's don't shed as much as other dogs has obviously never had a Sammy that blowing its coat (which they do semi-annually). Matting is not much of a problem unless you're an absentee owner. This is not an entry level pet - they are intelligent, creative dogs that require a loving handler who knows the breed if they're going to be trained. Many bad Sammy owners say that these dogs are untrainable or stubborn instead of admitting their own flaws

  • @MarkSamoyed I've had two.

  • Press F13 to skip ads.. (:

  • They're gorgeous!

  • The guy doing the voice-over is definately high

  • Comment removed

  • My brother has one, and she is just so nice. When I walk her she runs up to people and starts to act all cute and happy around them. Such a cute breed.

  • my doggie =)

  • WTH is up with this guys' voice?

  • "never dismiss this dog as all fluff"

I "pffft"'d so hard at that. This voice actor is a fucking joke

  • Who's the fucker that gave this voice over guy a job?

  • BOLT!

  • Samoyed are hypoallergenic! they don't shed nearly as much as other dogs :P but they do need to be groomed or their fur gets matted.

  • @juststarryeyed They don't shed as much as other dogs? Do you have one?

  • I can't help but wonder if this narrator had a head cold when he filmed this. Sounds like he can't breath through his nose. Beautiful dogs though. One of the breeds I've considered once I'm finished with college and can move somewhere I can have pets again.

  • I tried to mimic this guy, but ended up sounding like a tranny. Come to think of it, he does sound a lot like ... No, no, no, no. *attempts to erase the mental image*

  • I am so sorry about your loss, i lost my duke a german belgian shephard mix in july he had just turned 14 in june and his sight and hearing was A1 but his back end gave in.He gave me so much love and loyalty he was my best freind and my life.Take 1 day at a time i know its hard now,we will always think about them but we gave them a fantastic life and they gave it back to us thats what matters. In our hearts 4ever,take care and we had the best times with our dogs .

  • I love Summy. I just lost my 14 year and 11 months old Sammy two days ago. He was an angel and brought my family so much joy and happiness. He could see and hear well until the last day. The way my Sammy look made not only me but every single family member feel so special. We all miss our Sammy as he was a huge part of our lives. Samoyed is such a great dog.

  • i pronounce it sum-oyde lol im a failure lol

  • WTF lol everyone i know including myself say

    sam-oid

  • this narrator guy is fucking gay

  • I love dogs with a snout and face like these. My cousins have an American eskimo and i've always wanted my own but i'm allergic to dog dander. But NOW my friend showed me these adorable furballs.

Just wondering, anybody with allergies that has a sammie, are they affecting you at all? I've been around puppies but i'm fine with puppies of all types since they don't develop dander yet. I really wanna have a sammie in the future because I live somewhere cold. Please help :D

  • @KiddyBrucie15 samoyeds are great for people with allergies, in my samoyed book it says their fur is hypoallergenic. Which basically means they don't affect people with allergies. other breeds that are like this are poodles and the bichon frise.

  • @KiddyBrucie15

Well I'm not too sure on the specifics, but Sammies don't have dander( or that "dog fur smell"). They DO, however, shed in bunches XD but from what I've read/heard Sammies are good for people whom have allergies.

I love mine very much :)

  • They're so cute!

  • Yes! They can be apartment dogs, we live in a small apartment (see my videos!), I wouldn't recommend them as outdoor dogs, because although they can stand the cold- they would rather be by your side at all times. Just be sure to get in a good walk or jog every day.

  • We live in a small apartment and our puppy is fine as long as she gets a good walk per day. Indoor is best because they are so social, they won't want to be alone outside, because they want to be with you all the time.

  • i wonder if this dog is good as a family pet, or should it be used as a outdoor dog? I was wondering what kind of dog i should get, i live in norway, so there is snow most of the year(at least where i live) , so too much hot weather should not be a problem, and i love going walks on the mountains at winter also, but i was wondering if this dog can be indoor at days, dose it do good in a apartment? or dose it require lot of space?

  • Do we really have to listen to obama's bull to here this vid?

  • is this voice that narrates disney channel? :p

  • I see this breed is recommended for allergy sufferers... being a "hypo-allergenic" dog. And yet this video comments on it shedding a lot. Usually the hypo-allergenic dogs don't seem to shed a lot so this was interesting.

Anyone can comment on Samoyeds being good for allergy-sufferers in general? I know it's more a unique person-dog observation that's needed. But i'm just wondering.

  • @WinterCranium Shedding doesn't have anything to do with being good for allergies. It's that Samoyeds don't get dander like most dogs do, which is what most people are allergic to. It also means that they don't get that "dog smell."

  • My uncle in Michigan has one of these dogs.

He was such a big and lovable dog. He blended in with the snow during winter.

  • i want that howling cloud

  • What does he mean "if you don't mind being runner up in the looks department"?? Samoyeds are gorgeous.

  • @reallycool946 i think he means that the dog looks better than it's owner. lol

  • @SpotSwims hahaha he better mean that. Because Samoyeds are one of the most beautiful dogs out there. Samoyeds FTW :)

  • @reallycool946 He means that Samoyeds are so gorgeous that YOU, the owner would take second place in the looks department.

  • @MrDEADCELL1 he shounds like thish. he kinda shounsh like brad pitt if you lishten...

  • @MrDEADCELL1

He speaks like he's making a documentary for freaking 10y olds, while many adults also watch these vids.

Can't he just talk normal, it's annoying.

Why do many animal shows always have this little-kid attitude to it, animals are for ALL AGES.

  • @SinisterSkip have u ever thought that the anoucer is speaking normaly? Just watch it for getting info on the breeds of dogs and stop complaining :)

  • @TheRivalConcept

    I can complain all I want, it's a free country :)

  • my dad had one of this when he was 15 hes name was oso, my dad told me sotries about them lol i laguh so hard hearing them :)

  • aww I want one, but NZ is probably too warm.

  • Watching this makes me miss my samoyed

  • I love my sammy so much. <3 Ludvig. ;3

  • They can live in warm places, but are much happier and more energetic when it is cold. If you have A/C they will be ok, but if you live in extreme temperatures year-round maybe think of getting a different breed.

  • that fucking beast bite me, when i want to pet him. i hate samoyed .

  • @SSSR90 Aww little cutie bit U <3

  • @SSSR90 You'd be a fool to hate an entire breed because of one individual. It is extremely rare for a samoyed to be aggressive and bite as historically the dogs who acted that way were culled.

  • @SSSR90

    that samyed has problems then

cuz they love human and its not likely for a sammy to be aggressive

if it bit u then its probably playing or the human owner didnt train it well

  • @SSSR90 you mean fucking YOU,who doesn't treated it well!

  • @Spyflugan91 I treated it very well. But that dog is not mine, i try to pet it after dog show, and that animal bite me. I have a great dane...

  • @SSSR90 Maybe it bit you because your a buttmunch..

  • i have a samoyed pup, i love it :)

  • Cute, but I like Siberian huskies more!

  • watagatapitusberry

  • THEY'RE SO FLUFFY!!!! SO CUTE <3

  • Can I raise one in Florida?

  • @SimlishSammy Yes, you can. But don't let him/her out in the hottest hours of the day.

  • @jessyquedens

    thanks :)

  • i have a sammy:D

  • i want to know if they can live in a not so cold places? please let me know.

  • @mhestavas They can live in places like Georgia and Florida as long as you've got the AC on. I've grown up with Samoyeds so I know what they like and don't like, and what they need to feel comfortable.

  • where i live we call them samojed.

  • Omg Samoyeds are my dream dogs, I actually think about owning one, all the time!

  • a girl in my class has... err... five... of these. they really like pepole XD

they are a really big family, four kids, five sammis (all female) and a single mom :0

  • I think any dogs with Arctic roots make great family companions. I'd be interested in a Sammy for sure.

  • If an older Samoyed has trouble walking, it may be gout crystals in lower spine under where tails curls over. Test for pain by pushing with palm while dog is on his side. Press hard enough to move dog's rear end 2 feet. If he cries out shave a rectangular area several inches long over spot; enough fur will remain to disguise area. Apply roll-on DMSO containing some aloe vera. The DMSO will dissolve the crystals & walking will be normalized (2 vets FAILED to diagnose & NO mention of DMSO)!!!

  • Aww they are so cute!

  • we have this kind of dog!!! and she is very cute and lovable!! :D love my fibbles!!

  • :BloodandRainbow: they really dont shed and they are so smart and nice

  • Great video about an even greater dog. They are my favorite breed.

  • i have a samoyed puppy. he's my guy love.

  • I have a samoyed.

Very friendly and its hard to be afraid when you see that smiling face.

  • Sucks that they shed..

Does anyone here own one of these dogs? Could you tel me about him/her?

  • I used to she lived for 13 years. She was a wonderful dog and companion. Very fun to be around however ran away alot when not home. She also loved to "talk" in other words bark she did it for fun and yes her coat was every where white fur coated our house and clothing.

  • they r very beautiful dogs

they remind me a lot of pure white malamutes that are on the smaller side tho

  • The one thing which might put one off getting a Samoyed is that they do bark an awful lot.

  • Before buying a Samoyed pup ask if the breeders smoke. Those toxins can possibly cause or add to genetic damage. Also it's unfair to subject these most special of canines to any avoidable fire hazard. People who set themselves up as morally superior and "keepers of the flame" in a breed, if known to be smokers, should be disregarded and not accorded any respect. Please don't smoke if you have pets, it's a disservice to these innocent trusting creatures. Going outside to smoke isn't enough.

  • @skirts365

Add to genetic damage? What studies are you basing that opinion on?

Not exactly sure what you're talking about "Keepers of the flame" and "morally superior"

But your going beyond paranoid if your saying anyone who smokes should not own a pet.

Smoking outdoors is enough. Especially since you based your theory on "fire hazard" and "genetic damage"

  • I wouldn't condemn a pet to be homeless versus being with a puffer. However breeders should not subject stock to those toxins. People expect smokers to be defensive about their slow suicide habit. It's well established that environmental poisons are carcinogens and those tend to cause mutations, and nasal passage and lung damage. What does it get you to give me a thumbs down? I returned the favor. Don't forget MOST people don't smoke no wonder puffing has come under more restrictions.

  • Puffing has come under the correct restrictions. However, smokers are perhaps defensive over being judged by something that is their decision, and by no means someone else s .

Secondly, I hadn't given you a thumbs down. I've since remedied that.

Second hand smoke Is certainly not good for your pets, however as I said, smoking outdoors is enough. You went beyond any reason and suggested that even that would not suffice. Which is simply your problem with smoking, not your pets.

  • One of the most beautiful dogs I've ever seen!

  • I remember my Samoyed Kada. She was like my second mom when I saw little. Unfortunately, when my family and I went on a vacation, we left her in the care of our supposed family friends. They left her outside during one of the hottest summers I can remember with NO food OR water. She was avery smart dog though. When i went swimming she would never let me go in the deep water. Somehow she knew I was too little. Definetly one of my favorite breeds.

  • Does anyone else pronounce 'samoyed' the way i do?

    sam-oh-yed

    idk, random question (:

  • There seems to be a lot of children (God forbid adults) that seem to be looking at the the pictures and not readding the story.

A Samoyed is a working dog and has special needs.

I you want one just because it looks cute, then I would put money on that dog ending up in a foster home/pound (pound for the yanks amoung you).

  • Greatest dog ever! I owned a Samoyed/Japanese Spitz cross and the temperment was possibly the most laid-back and gentle I've ever seen in a dog.

  • Well, certain types of people are attracted to certain types of dogs, this can speak towards their more aggressive nature. Also, some dogs simply need a lot of attentive training, and many people do not give them that.

There are so many variables to how a dog turns out the way he/she does, but be sure in general it is almost always more the owner rather than the dog.

  • aah love em.beautiful

  • I have a Samoyed and Chow Chow mix =) Just a great dog. Samoyed are too friendly, and the chow chow are too family oriented, but together, they really balance out the breeds. Samoyed's are awesome dogs.

  • Samoyeds look like such cool dogs to have as a companion. I want one.

  • I let my sammy off the lead and he always comes back. It's just a matter of raising your dog right.

  • I have a Siberian Husky who sleeps 9 hours through the night, then goes for a walk or run and the is back in her crate until lunch and I then walk her in the evening, she is quite happy with this.

As a rule Samoyeds yap/shriek/bark more than Sibes.

You must never let this breed off the lead they won't come back.

  • That's not even true, it depends on the dog not the breed. That's like saying "Don't let a pitbull around children cause you can't trust them." When in fact I have a pitbull and it loves children and other dogs. I've also had a Samoyed who never had a leash on and listened to everything I say.

  • Yes I see your point its like saying all Germans in world war 2 were evil. What I did say and stand by what I said but will change slightly to "ON AVERAGE". Why are 90% of all dog attack on children some kind of Bull Terrier?

  • Oh yeah sure, because it's just that simple to blame the breed right? It has to do with the owner, not the breed. It's how it's raised.

  • I suppose what I am saying is that the type of person that wants an aggressive dog will go for a bull terrier of some type. Why do you want a dog that was bred for fighting?

I am in a job where I need to be physically fit plus I play Rugby and Football I don't go out and get a micro dog, I get a dog that likes to run.

My friend has had Bull Terriers and I believe also for the wrong reason and YES you are right 50% is the owner the rest is animal, dog, and BREED.

  • my brother adopted 2 pit bulls a while ago, who's parents were fighting pits, but those two puppies (brother and sister) are the sweetest dogs ever. my niece will pinch and pull on them and wrestle with them and those dogs come back for more ^.^ any dog can be aggressive, but i think it has to do with their environment more so than breeding. had those puppies been left in that house, im sure they would have turned out very sadly =(

  • @garras1andonly2028 No the breed is important too,its easyer to train a dog to be nice if its a chihuahua than a dobermann

  • That's not even true, it depends on the dog not the breed. That's like saying "Don't let a pitbull around children cause you can't trust them."

Well of course it seems you are a very good owner. And have trained your dog very well.

  • You get a well tempered father with a good line of pits and a well tempered mother with a good line and you might have one bad seed, but you train a dog well and it'll be just as trustworthy.

Thank you, I've only had pitbulls in my life and I trust them completely, one of them saved my life and I could leave them all alone with kids and they never hurt them. So I agree it has to do with breeding, but most of it has to do with training.

  • BEWARE RIMADYL one pill gave my Samoyed SEVERE ULCER. He had bad trouble walking 2 vets failed to pinpoint issue he had SPINAL GOUT I shaved fur over where tail curls ONE dose of roll-on DMSO was not therapeutic IT WAS TOTALLY CURATIVE. Why did they not mention DMSO (it isn't a patented monopoly) Beware Big Pharma & its PROSTITUTE VETERINARIANS. PREDNISONE killed another dog I had vet NEVER ONCE warned me of kidney damage & behavior change. They have no right to withhold information!!!

  • love Samoyeds!! My female is 6 yrs old, 75 lbs, and 24 inches tall. she loves to just lay around, but jumps and plays when i want her too. her name is Frost.

  • i used to have one of these dogs. so fluffy.

  • Thanks for the info!

  • do they do well in apartments?

  • As a rule, spitz type dogs are very vocal and are not the kind of dog that enjoys being left by itself (pack animal). These dogs are known to cry, whine, and howl in order to get their pack (you) to come back to them. This would probably annoy your neighbours.

It is possible to train a spitz breed to bark and whine less but you need to have patience to do so, and very nice neighbours who are willing to put up with the puppy stage and the training stage where the dog may be loud.

  • Oh, yeah they may not work, if they are my first dog training. Thanks for the help.

  • No problem. Again, it is possible to train them out of it and every dog is going to whine and cry a lot at first, especially as puppies since they are used to being with a litter full of playmates and now they are in an apartment by themselves. Just be consistent and give them something to play with and it should lessen it but be prepared for at least a week worth of puppy whines lol

  • Oh hell no, they grow to be massive... Hell, use some common sense!

  • Newfoundland dogs are fine for apartments and they get very big, but they have a very low energy level. It depends my friend, it depends.

  • Yeah, they do fine in apartments.

Are you a dedicated owner that will give them at least 1 hour of undivided attention a day, and spend your weekends with them?

If not, don't get a Samoyed. They require a lot of attention and love. Don't just get one and let it rot waiting for you to get home.

  • Thank you for answering my question. I thought they were independent dogs, since most sled and spitz type dogs are very independent. But it's also said that Samoyeds are very close to people and like to have human company, so I thought they may be a little better off leash. Thanks again.

  • i would really love to hug one of these dogs just once in my life. So cute and fluffy!

  • i love my samyoed his name is chinny hes 3 and hes so cute :)

  • my cousin got his girlfriend one last christmas kova she was 7wks old and so fluffy i couldn't feel her bones i was constantly wondering if i was holding her properly an aweful messer everything she did the cat got the blame for they grow very fast

  • I ♥ Samoyeds!!! This is my favorite dog breed, and I hope to one day get my very own Samoyed.

  • Are samoyeds trustable off leash, or do they like to roam ? They are known to be very close to their people, but being a sled dog, are they very independent and like to make their own preferences when to listen or not ?

  • Samoyeds do love people, but they love to chase small animals, so you should never let them off a leash unless you're in a fenced-in area. So basically, if they ever see a squirrel, you better get your running shoes ready.

  • I've always heard that they are not territorial, so we've always kept our Sammys on leashes. We were told that if they ran away, they might come back, or they might not. And they are very independent; they will listen when they feel like it.

  • i might be getting samoyed, and maybe name it Yuki or Skye mhm =)) ^_^ =D already got a lovely husky 'jade' ^.~ =D i love these dogs so much, thankyu for the video <3

  • lol i wanted to name mine Yuki when i got him a few days ago but i was the only one that liked that name so we named him Thor.

  • I had one named Sam, yea that's right, I'm original.

  • I REALY LOVE THIS BREED!

  • Love love love this breed

  • Tgey are best<3<3<3<3

  • I have had both a Samoyed and a Siberian Husky. Both are excellent sled dogs, but Samoyeds have a more cheerful, outgoing personality. Mine's name was "Tinkerbell". You sure need a Furminator!

  • Sammies thrive on human attention. I don't think this can be expressed enough. These dogs do not want to be separated from their owner ever!!! It is almost more of a commitment than marriage.

  • If you get a Samoyed...

Their double coat means they are insulated in the heat and the cold, so you don't have to shave them in summer. But they must be brushed on a regular basis! They are prone to excessive barking and digging because of boredom. I walk mine almost everyday.

    They are stubborn!

They are escape artists, always check to make sure they stay in a designated area.

They are schedule oriented. Mine barks at 6am to be fed, 10am for a walk.

    They love anybody and everybody!

  • Just to reply to not needing to shave them, even in hot weather, yes, please don't shave any Samoyed. With our old American Eskimo dog that we had, my dad shaved her because he didn't like the shedding and b/c it was winter, but with both Eskies and Samoyeds it is actually not good to shave b/c the dogs have sensitive skin. Their coats protect them from the shedding. That's why they have two main sheddings during the year for their summer and winter coats.

  • My baby Atlantis! They are a lot of work (mine thinks the world revolves around him) and they bark...a lot! But they are very, very good natured dogs.

  • i have a samoyed named kellyn!

  • The disposition rating is accurate. It's difficult not to smile when near one, maybe that has something to do with their friendliness on a genetic level.

  • just wondering, i have two american eskimos names everest and sushi. are american eskimos almost the same as a samoyed?

  • Remotely. Samoyeds are descended directly from a basal stock of wolf that was domesticated in and around Iran, about 4000-3000 years ago. People migrated, and went north. These are the samoyed and finno-ugric scandinavian people. These people had the core samoyed and spitz dogs. They interbred some. The Germans modernized the spitz about 200 years ago, and the Eskie is a american modification of the german spitz.

  • I love love love love samoyeds. They are my dream dogs. I know I'm not settled enough right now to get one, but sometime in the future I hope I do!

  • has anybody even heard of a human aggressive samoyed? seriously these things are friendlier than barney on crack

  • The Spitz is just a type of dog, the Japanese Spitz, commonly confused as the eskimos tend to have similar looks. However, the Samoyed is much bigger in size and if put together (or next to each other), tyou will notice very uncanny differences.

  • I have to ask do the samoyeds lose alot of hair?

  • They do shed alot but I learned a time saving trick-a horse shedding blade is a wonderful way to manage that thick coat in the least amount of time-the blade has small teeth that barely reaches the undercoat making sure not to harm the dog in any way-the coat still stays lustrous and furry so unless the dog were to be poor in health you will never see a bare spot on their body-just a beautiful smiling sammy that people will stop you to ask if they are real -i hope this helps-ali

  • I always have people constantly asking me if it is hard to keep them clean/white. No, the dirt just naturally comes off!
