  • hi, please share with us of how much do we need to prepare to study korean language in this univ. i mean tuition .... + living cost .... . thanking in advance.

  • it depends on what you are planning to do. If you stay at the dorms, prepare to save about $7,000 for tuition, books, dorm stay, and plane ticket. Then there is the home stay program, where your price will vary with the family you live with. Tuition by its self is about $1,500, this does NOT include books. This is from my research, but others might have differeny info.

  • thanks for sharing :)

  • WOW SO COOL! BTW,I have NEVER seen(although I had heard of)an Asian person so fluent in Spanish (prob.more common to see Asian ppl fluent in English rite)-this is sooo cool!

  • thank you for sharing . .i am anolder student learning the korean language and still find it to be alittle hard at time, but i will continue to pursue my passion for learning the language and culture. Thank you again for sharing i hope you have more vids in the future. and for tose lame a**** out there, if you can't appreciate what is being shared, than at least appreciate the efforts . .

  • Seeing how different people from around the world are going to Korea to learn the language, I wonder: Are the Korean courses taught only in Korean or how? I mean if someone speaks english, japanese, chinese, spanish, russian, etc. how can they possibly understand, if they're barely learning?

  • For level 1 ppl who don't know any krn, their books are translated in other languages; chinese, japanese, english, spanish, & some european languages.

the teachers know basic chinese characters, so they sometimes will explain by writing the characters on the board; for the chinese & japanese students.

Also in many countries, students have learned English one time in their life;either junior high or highschool. So the teachers explains sometimes in simple english as well.

  • Oh, I see. Thanks for the info, I feel sort of relieved since I would like to study in Korea in the near future.

  • You guys make it sound easy.

I'm learning Korean and having allot of difficulty !

  • that girl from uzbekistan kinda looked asian and so did that dude from brazil. But they spoke korean fairly well but i've seen better. Maybe im just jealous? Good job anyways.

  • well the girl from uzbekistan is part korean and part russian or something...and born in uzbekistan.

the guy from brazil is full korean, but born in brazil.

  • that girl from Uzbekistan is korean and so am I. But we all speak russian

  • even if the uzbek girl wasnt korean, uzbek ppl are still asian and share common asiatic features

  • 제가 보고 싶은 친구들 많이 봤어요. 감사합니다.

  • They are all good and some of them pronounce Korean(language) like Korean(people). Since Korean is a language which really hard to pronounce as Koreans do, I really surprised.

  • theres no way for highschool students to take KLI? :(

  • haha sorry...you have to graduate highschool to attend there.

  • I went to the Summer program in 1993, and it wasn't that great. Maybe things improved...

  • when i interviewed them they were in the end of level 3. and each level is 3 1/2months long. so like 10 1/2months about they learned korean.

  • how much is the tuition?? how much did u pay to be there/go to that school?

i'll be done with highschool in 3 months &im planning on going there.

    reply please (:

  • the 2ns japanese dude is kinda hot

  • Cool, I wanna go to that school, but my mom would never let me go, cus Korea is to far away. That school is in Korea right? Anyways, I live in Holland, and I'm also trying to learn Korean language. I just know a few words like Annyeong aseyo Kim SuhKi imnida, kamsehamnida, saranghamnida/saranghaeyo and stuf like that. I hope i'll know Korean fluently someday.

  • I think you have go to korea to study and to speak well. If you speak japanese the grammar will be easy bc they're similar. And if you know mandarin chinese, the vocabulary will be so much easier than starting from scratch.

  • well that''s not gonna work, cus i don't know Mandarin or Japanese. But i'll try to study hard at school, so when I graduate from college, I can go to Korea, and learn Korean at that school. I think i'll be lke 20 or 21 when I finish college here. Is that too old to learn Korean?

  • that seems fine but 20 is really old. You might need a senior discount card or special permission. Noooooooooooooooooooo, it's fine. 20 is a great age to start. I've seen an indian girl who came to korea at 18 and spoke it fluently it. She's back in india now. She lived in korea for like 10yrs.

  • haha, okay thnx. Hope i'll be fluently too someday

  • damn these cats are good i should enroll so my mom doesnt think im some hoodlum.. just fyi, if i already know korean but dont know jonedaemal (sp?) what level does that put me

i dont have any relatives in korea to stay in..

  • Awesome video Taesoon!

Hopefully I`ll be there this summer!

  • oo....best time is to go during spring or fall.

summer is extremely hot there. plus the air pollution mixing with the hot humid weather. it feels like crap just walking around.

  • i think your mom was making cacophonous sounds when she was getting fucked by her father, which would be your father/grandfather

  • What happened to the NG video? I thought it was humorous.

  • hahah. glad you enjoyed it. i was just ridding of all the junks, so my page looked cleaner.

  • OMG aare you from korea?! like is that school in korea cuz if it is that's soo coool how i'm taalking to you from like across the world:)

  • you are easily amazed.

  • hahah i know i am but i really think it's sooo cool!

  • i'm teaching at a middle school in korea, the students are very similar to those in the usa, but they study more and their parents care more about their education than american parents for the most part (always exceptions)

  • lol why are u so amazed

  • because it's like ALL the way across the world:) I dont know. hahaha i just thought it was cool

  • haha.....technically no..

i'm born & raised in chicago.

i went to live in korea for some time for school tho..to learn korean.

  • the girl from uzbekistan has a korean father, that's why she looks and speaks like one..

i wanna to learn too..i can only speak a little..

  • actually...she's only half korean.

she's part korean, part chinese, part caucasian uzbekistan. she's the asian looking one in the family. her sister has more white features.

  • are you korean? or korean-american?

  • i am very korean-american... haha...

born in chicago and raised in the suburbs all my life. i couldn't even speak a word of korean till i went to yonsei, which was back in 2005. then back in 2006. i just act like a fob now because i lived in korea for some time.

  • 태순오빠 will you teach me korean? lol...just kidding. i'll find my own ways of learning it where i am. i think there's some language classes that teach basics here.

  • ㅎㅎㅎㅎ 오빠가? 못하는데. my korean isn't that good. my advice is, find a fob bf. i promise you your korean will improve quickly then. hahah.

  • i don't live in korea. heh.

  • dun need to be in korea to find a fob..

fob means fresh off the boat meaning you gotta find a korean that just got here that only knows like some basic english ^^ lol

  • LOL, a Korean boyfriend in Korea wouldn't qualify as a "fob." haha

  • yeh i know.. why the hell i typed that i have no idea rofl;;; dont ask;; my minds faster than my fingers;; lol

  • Can someone tell me what is the full address for this Korean learning institution?

  • you can go to the website. im sure it's there. the website url is where it says "more about this vid"

  • youuu guys are in a happpy place ehhh

  • Hey Taesoon (Tae Soon?), let me guess...you're Korean-American? I'm assuming so because I am myself. Your Korean sounds quite good, but the accent is slightly "off." I would know because I speak in a similar fashion when I try to talk in Korean, haha.

Anywho, thanks for posting this video! It's cute, and it's also wonderful to see a small, yet diverse group of people connecting through language.

  • thank you. yes im korean-american.

haah...ya i noticed my accent isnt correct.

it was especially hard for me to learn korean because i learned it for the first time in 2005. so i started off at level 1.

  • That's very impressive than! Are your parents from Korea?

My parents came from S.Korea so obviously that's what they spoke at home. I understand Korean well, but I'm not very good at speaking. I grew up in a predominately white neighborhood so I had no Korean friends. But I went to Korean school on the weekends, so I know the basics.

Thanks again for posting the video, I'm looking into attending that program (or something similar) to improve my Korean!

  • ah my parents are like practically 1.5 gyopo... my dad immigrated to america when he was in junior high. my mom immigrated here when she was 18. they could speak korean, but they didnt with me because since i was a kid i wanted to only speak english. but after highschool and i grew old, i realized i should start learning before it's too late.

well anyway, good luck with the pgm. it's awesome.

  • the uzbekistan girl can speak korean pretty well ^^ kudos to her~

  • wow i wish i could go -_- i still need to get my GED. So far since 2001 ive been teaching myself korean -_- i can read it and write it just fine.. just i dont know what im reading and writing =( i know some words~ but sentence structure is lacking bad... lol someone help me?

  • best way is dating a korean fob and conversate with them only in korean little by little. haha.

  • hehe im just fine with my airman <33 /purr

back in the day i woulda jumped on that, but where the hell are all the fobs hiding? lol

  • the girl from uzbegistan(?) speaks like a korean???!!!!!

  • The first japanese has the best accent. but all is poor yet..

  • tha japanese dude with the glasses is cute

  • yonsei univ. in shinchon korea

  • haha~

im sorry i watch it now,...germany wwas to end i saw it knwo cool!!i will coming michael XD and will learn korean!!höhö

  • I never went to Korean University and I can speak better Korean then all these people. What does this school do for you anyways?

  • wow-good for you.

maybe you learned korean at an early age and spoke korean to your friends or family.

myself, i never learned korean until i was 21 and never spoke it amongst anyone. not even my family.

and the people at yonsei, they live at other countries, such as india or japan..where it's not common to speak korean. duh. it's not easy to pick up a new language at a late age.

  • I am a white Canadian. I have no Korean blood in me at all. I started at a similar age as you. I know it is not easy to pick up a new language. But, arn't their any pre requisits to actually study Korean in a Foreign university?

  • no pre req really. just gotta be a highschool graduate and they teach you from level 1-6. level 1 if you dont know a word. the people i interviewed were at level 3. and each level is 3 months. so they've been learning korean for less than a year.
