Well, you sure knew a few secrets I didn't know about on some of the other levels, but your performance on phobos anomaly was laughable, I can probably take care of that level in less than a third of the time you took - and it was obviously sped up too. Or maybe set to "fast monsters". They didn't respawn but they were about the same speed as on nightmare level so either the video was sped up or it was something like doom 95 where you can specially set it to fast monsters.

@NeytiriOwns You must've been playing the SNES port of Doom. The SNES version isn't as smoothe as the PC version, plus it doesn't have alot of the weapons as in the PC version. The PC version is more superior than the SNES version because the SNES doesn't save. Once you shut the game off it's back to Ep. 1 Level 1.

It should be noted that he's playing Ultimate DOOM (v1.9). The original DOOM didn't have the switch in E1M1 that opens to the courtyard with the mega armor.

Personaly I dont like episode 1 I mean all the other epidsodes were great but 1 has no affect or anything. Your just in small non-detailed rooms that don't really have much gameplay where as you can tell how they slowly got better at making the new levels like episode 123 mainly because there more detailed and they have the towering affect if you know what I mean. also, the 1st soulsphere in e1m6 is worth getting, and so is the machine gun secret in e1m5, and the chainsaw secret in e1m3

Oh, it's definitely higher than Hurt Me Plenty. The amount of monsters boasts at least UltraViolence. But since the monsters move so fast here, I would say it's on Nightmare. :)

Is not TAS, is a legit Speedrun. This is also listed on Speed Demos and they don't allow tool assited speedruns.

Also, he's playing in Nightmare difficulty, that's why all the enemies are harder and thouger.

The pinky demons bite fast because it's on nightmare. Also why you can hear the teleporting sounds randomly in the first episode.  It's the monsters respawning. There's I think only one teleport that the player can use in that episode.

I also just noticed something.

It took me a while to realize this, but that's not a chaingun he's using.

That's a Gatling gun, because a chaingun is actually made up of a single barrel, like a revolver.

Actually, in "Nightmare!," you get double the ammunition, to help you against the big amount of demons AND the fact that they respawn like 20 seconds later.

My last message got cut off. Is it true that on Nightmare setting the ammo packs give you twice as much ammo as on the other settings? It seems like that, as the guy has so much ammo for his chaingun cannon and never stops shooting. Whatever the case, well done.  I guess Nightmare mode just takes lots of practice to do.

Although I still love the new FPS games, the oldies are always the best. You can sit down for hours just playing the same level over and over again.

Don't get me wrong, I love a bit of Left 4 Dead, but it lacks that Doom factor.

I give this speedrunner credit though, unlike others who claim that they are so pro at pacifist speedruns, or plain speedruns, they aren't because they use the jump and mouselook to their advantage, while real Doomers use keyboard only, and no jump.
