rizladread87 - you have to top the plants. you basically cut the top then it will split into two. repeat the process and you'll have a bushier plant instead of a tall one. Look up topping marijuana plants on google or something.

Merl, The closer you have the lights, The bushyer and small they will become, If you have the lights to far away they will grow tall.. Because they will look for more light, But dont position the lights to close, Or your leaves will burn/wilt.

You can trim the top and GENTLY bend the main shoot so it can be fastend to the stem with a wire , bread tie, twine whatever . Leave it tied down for a week or so , it will encourage the secondary growth to come in alot thicker . untie and let grow , also be careful not to break the stem when bending it , this should be done during vegitation period . or so i have heard .

its called supper cropping. and you can do it above any node but do it during veg and not before 10 days or so.
