  • my fav part of the song (even though its not much of a drum part) is at 5:45 because the keyboard orchestra part sounds awesome. What do you think is most fun part on drums in this song?

  • well done, are you pro or it's just your hobby?

  • Great cover!

  • very good playing, well done!^^ but i don't really like the soundmastering... it sounds like you compressed the sound pretty much and it kind of kills the dynamic range of your kit and the music... but beside of that really good!

  • This is so epic. awesome. cant find more words.

  • Wow that snare sounds incredible. I definitely like this one a bit more then your first cover for this song. This might be a stupid question but did you base your drum set up off of the one Nightwish's drummer uses?

  • why are you using a double pedal when u have 2 bass drums there

    :D

  • sick snare sound....very heavy

  • heey man well done ;) thumps up! what pedals are you using?

  • @sjalov

    Thanks!

I have Tama Iron Cobra Powerglide pedals. 2 single pedals for practising and live-performances, and a double-pedal for recordings.

  • Now, a Screenshot of top view of your drumset is set to my Desktop-Wallpaper..

    Very epic <3

  • @DarkStyleRMikor

    Haha, awesome!

  • Please when you'll have time, watch my drum cover of this song, i'm a girl drummer and a big fan of your covers ! ;D

  • Awesome Fills!

  • Awesome cover ;p

But I'm wondering how do you mic your bass drum without mic stand and do you mute your bass drum with mufflers??

  • @Schneider1988 I'm just wondering, why haven't you switched to the speed cobras yet?

  • what would you recommend more, a double bass drum kit or a single bass kit with a double pedal?

  • @717thdrummer

To be honest. a single bass kit has more benefits:

    1. It takes less room

    2. It saves you money

    3. When you need to transport it, it saves you time (and space in the car)

    4. WIth a double-bass-set you will have to tune them equally. (That's a difficult job).

    5. If you want custom bassdrum-heads you only need one.

So, if you have enough money, time, space and patience (like i do) you could get a second bassdrum, else i would recommend a single-bass-kit with a double pedal.

    Grtz!

  • @Schneider1988 Hmmm, Thanks alot for the advice :D I got nothing but time and patience, and i will have enough for one so i think that i will get a double bassdrum :3

  • @Schneider1988 thank you for this post... i think, i'll buy a new sonor kit with two bassdrums... had the tama artstar and as a second set a tama superstar hyperdrive... but i want something new :D want to try out two bassdrums :)

  • Why are you using only one bassdrum??? Is there a special reason???

  • heel goede klank ik vind de snare echt heel mooi!!

groetjes Yanick (kerel die je tegen kwam bij walibi)

  • muy buen cover, amigo sigue asi

  • Hey Tim, what do u like about the new singer in Nightwish, i dont like her cuz the style of the band has changed negatively.. just my opinion.

  • muy buena cover!!

  • awesome cover!!! ;-)

which mixer or interface do you use?

  • how many friend do you have on facebook? (i dont have an acc so i cant see this -.- )

  • @GerTodesengel

While i write this, it's 2.108 friends on Facebook, gaining about 10 each day. :)

  • Awesome drum cover once agian!

Love your toms, they sound amazing!

However i dont like the way your cymbals touch each other :/ and i hope you find a solution for your double bass! :)

  • @Michael307

Thanks! But don't worry about the cymbals, they can stand many hard hits from the drumsticks so some touching by other cymbals wouldn't hurt them. :)

  • @Schneider1988 Yeah alright then :) But doesnt it affect the sound? i could imagine that you get the sound from both cymbals, tho you only hit one of them?

  • Fuckin' Epic!

    Love it! from Napa, California

  • I'd like to see your improvisation!

    Is it possible?

  • Dude.. Are you aware of that theres a danish band thats called "Battery" aswell?

Its just so that you dont get in some law troubles at some point or something :)

  • Very nice, thank you from Portugal!

  • If you wouldn't mind, I would LOVE to see a new redo of the END OF ALL HOPE song. I absolutely love it.

  • Do you use 3 Full sized Video Cameras or are they HD-Webcams?

  • one word: perfect!

wanna see u live performing with Nightwish! :)

  • YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!! one of the best nightwish song!!!!

  • You don't need 2 mics for the rack toms, just mount one on the 10" tom and have it point in between the two rack toms. Then you'll have another mic for the bass.

  • Oh my gosh, how can anyone NOT like this!??!

  • Love!!!! Aww tim I've mjssed your videos

  • Some serious "thwack" to that snare of yours!

  • ´what snare drum is that?

  • @poisonedflood

The snaredrum is a 14x5,5 Tama Starclassic Performer B/B (Just like the rest of the drums)

It has a Evans G1 coated head.

  • @Schneider1988 it sounds AWESOME !!!

  • Awesome video as always.

I'd like the ending to be like at the End of an Era live. I think that's better even than the studio-recorded one.

  • can u make a video on how to do the roll syncing the toms with the base drum it would be very helpful or just reply to me thanks!

  • ik will een vraag doen, bellen ze de politie niet?hier waar ik woon kan ik niks doen man hahaha altijd komt de politie bij mijn deur om muziek zachter te doen. goed drums man ga zo doer..subscribed :)

  • EPIC !!!!!

  • Nicely done!

  • 8:00 <3

  • The sound of your drum set is so fucking awesome. But I have to ask, why dont you try to use 1 mic for 2 toms and then you will have an extra mic for the bass

  • good

  • Oh, and great cover, what recording interface are you using? ^^

  • this music is so EPIC!!!

  • sounds pretty well ;)

  • awesome cover schneider, could you do an alestorm cover for us please?

  • hey why two bass drum if you play with a twin pedal ????

    i dont get it

  • @angelkf87 ok now i get it hahaha

  • Why do your drum covers have a such great qualitiy?? ITS JUST AWESOME!!

  • god came to earth, get in your body, and played this *_*

  • i love the drums in this song! and you do an awesome cover!!

  • What pedals you use? NIce cover and HUGE DRUMKIT! I could wach your videos for days for your playing and that drumkit. Awsome.

  • A really awesome cover, like always ;)

But, why are you using a double-pedal and a double bass???

  • @NoRePlayIng

With a double-pedal he just needs to use a mic on one kickdrum, otherwise it would be two mics and his mixing desk has only 8 inputs, so he would have to use another mixing desk and connect it to the first one...I've got the same problem :D

  • @NoRePlayIng

Why i use a double pedal: It's because the recorder i use has only 8 inputs. 1 for snare, 2 overheads, 4 toms that leaves only 1 input for the bassdrums. Before i solved that by sending both kickdrum-mics to an other mixer and mix it into 1 single track and send that to the last input of the recorder. The problem with that was that it caused a lot of background noise.

So i chose to use only 1 kick-mic and a doublebass pedal.

  • @NoRePlayIng You will find that a lot of professional players (including Joey Jordison) actually does the same thing, and just leaves other bassdrum there for show. Not only because it's next to impossible to get the exact same sound out of 2 drums, but also because makes the mixing process a lot easier. Think of it this way, when setting up the set live, it's basically only half the work, just one bassdrum and one mic (or trigger). :)

  • do you trigger your bass drum or is it that awesome sound just from messing with high mid and low?

  • @CalTamaDrummer

No, i do not use triggers. Just a microphone (Shure Beta52A). Boosted the high frequencies (+6000 hrz) for more attack and turned down the mid frequencies (> 170hrz - < 1000 hrz) to get rid of the cardbord sound.

  • @Schneider1988 what do I need for recording my drums ?

    sorry bad english

  • Dude u can definitly play drums! EPIC drummer EPIC song!

  • Jeah I'm The first who comment this one :D

    Amazing Drumming as always
