i got this 4 christmas from my girlfriend n when i opened it i was like wtf is vanquish. i was so dissapointed in her game choice and didnt play it till about 4 hours ago. but i can honestly say this game is sick. i luv the mechanics of this game. i luv my gears of war but this defo blows gow single campaign away as for multiplayer it wouldnt be able 2 FK wiv gears, i just couldnt see it working 4 this game.

i cant get enough of this game at the moment. i think your downsides to the game are advantages, the lack of a story line in an action packed shooter keeps the player in the game rather than zone out into movie mode. i think cinematics in games should all be short and sweet. just my opinion tho.

Yep. The best game no-one bought! If they'd only put some marketing out for this game outside of Japan, it'd have sold by the truck-load. A year on and I can't bring myself to sell it. I had to pause this game every half hour so I could blink. I thought the boss fights deserved more of a mention here though. They were a riot. Didn't get tired of fighting that Argus robot.

I just brought Vanquish today and it pawn the living shit out Gears Of War series. Vanquish deserve a 9.5 and need a sequel. Vanquish does not have a learning curve what so ever but, the game A.I. will put up a pretty damn good fight especially the bosses in Vanquish The boss fights in Vanquish are intense and bad ass. Vanquish boss fight make Gears of War boss fight look like childs play. Buy Vanquish and you won't regret it at all!!!

I don't care about showing off how much blood I can cram in a game, multiplayer, or how popular it is. Gears isn't a bad game, but to ME it's fucking boring. at about 1:30 he mentions that the graphics are inspired by gears of war. This is absolute nonsence as i have seen nothing that even remotely resembles gears of war graphically. most easily spottable diffrence is that vanquish uses colours other than just grey and brown.

@3DSismash Yes, and I'm saying he's wrong. The game features a story-integrated tutorial mode to prevent the game-mechanics from causing unnecessary deaths. All one-hit kill attacks are broadcasted by sound or posture. The Normal mode features more bullet-time, slower enemy reactions and more rocket launchers. It should be challenging but fun. And of course the hard modes are hard. That's why they are called HARD. You can't take off points for the hard modes being difficult. That's just stupid.

The controls are completely intuitive (at least for PS3 version which I have). As long as you play the tutorial mission which is integrated with the story, you shouldn't have any trouble.
