Haha if it means anything, I say a faded Scottish accent is better than none. I'm Scottish but was born in America, therefore, my accent is shit. I can't really do one... at all. So I like yours :)
I recently moved from teaching at Caledonian Primary in Perth (Near Stirling) to living in California. I am originally from St Andrews but lived and worked in Perth, where teaching curb my Scot's accent. Now You've got me worried about Sounding American! I already find myself adjusting terminology on a daily basis!
(Saying Side-walk instead of pavement!)
so I call home just to have a bleather and remember what its like to "Hae a Guid Crack wi folk wha ken whit the feck am talkin aboot!"
I haven't laughed that hard in a while. You sound a wee bit like Andy Murray. So your accent is like that of Dunblane. So Stirlingshire. Which is where I live at the moment and hate every second of it.
You should do a Glasgow accent. That, in my opinion, is the strongest Scottish accent you can get. Nobody can understand a word you're saying. I should know. I'm from there and I was in the US once. It was as if I was speaking Chinese to them for all the difference it would have made.
I forget... did I mention in the video where I'm from? Because I'm from Stirling which means you are probably the first person to nail it on the head!
I think if I tried Glasweigan I might sound like the two "Glesgae" guys from Chewing The Fat
Yeah I know, my guess has always been that people that assumed that I was from Inverness are people who noticed I have a Scottish accent but didn't think it sounded like anything familiar so assumed I must be from somewhere far away from where I was living (Stirling).
Have you ever met one of these strange people who moved to the U.S when they were 6, lived here 45 years and still have an incredibly strong accent? It baffles me, though I think they must try pretty hard to keep it...
Am I copying him because I'm Scottish and speak? I look nothing like him... sound nothing like him and don't seem to talk about the same things... please explain and shoot me down with your sharp racially secluding viewpoints on my extraordinary similarities to someone who's nothing like me.
Your accent (which is my favorite) is lovely. I'm planning a trip to Scotland... I'm also planning on kidnapping a Scottish guy and bringing him home with me. Who can resist a Scotsman, I say?!
I know how you feel. I've been here almost 9 years now. I don't think as fast as I used to in Scotland because I've had to slow down when I speak. I watch Craig too, but I've noticed when he says "American" it comes out "Amurican" must be cos we stop rolling our Rs because of the attention and comments it gets. I married an a AmErican too.
I love your personality and intelligence! Interesting that you bring up the issue of living in the U.S and having people question where you are from; I was born in California but I speak three languages, Fluent English, Fluent French, and Italian but I learned these languages since I was in grade school and all thruout my life so it has somehwat affected my English at times so far that random people think I'm from Europe!
Well I'm glad the Scot in me kept coming back at least!
I've been trying to watch Craig Ferguson on late night T.V. as mucvh as possible to strengthen my accent, but it ain't working... I mean isnae workin'.
I dunno... it's easier than getting out my car to record? I try to record in locations but sometimes there's people around and weird things like that...
my dad works for hampton lumbermill its forbs 250th wealthiest private company he makes a fair wage but todays gass prices its proabley just as easy to work at the nearest grocerie store....
hmm this summer ive been working on a berries farm and me and my best friend are only teangers and then the rest are migrate workers so far ive earned 68 doalers im thinking about quiting i can proabley earn more mowing lawns...
iv been to Canada and 5 states....Well killing the indigenous people hmm well technically the British killed the first in indigenous people in witch is present day America! By the way are you using PC or Mac those graphics look a little like windows movie maker but im not completely sure....
Yes it;s Movie Maker... if all I was doing with my computer was makign videos I'd probably have a Mac but since I require it to work on every day normal things I stick with a PC
The way I see it, by the time all the indigenous people were being killed they were Americans. They were the people that Europe (Not just Britain, thank you) rejected or who rejected Europe. Note I mention how Britain has a history of killing indigenous people too though
"Oh frig that's Canadian." Hahah ;P

ffft that "strong Scottish accent" sounds more like a weird mix between Scottish, Geordie, and Canadian. I like your accent the way it is now. :3

The difference between Mick Jagger and a Scotsman? Mick says "hey you get off of my cloud" while the Scot says" hey McCloud get off of my ewe".

I was trying to juggle between Scottish and Irish accents - but Irish still kept poking be in the back of the head. :3
But then Scottish kept coming back towards the end of the video - especially when you started singing. Awesomeness.
