I do care bout graphics, charachters animation, backgrounds and what i see so far in SWTOR Video trailers is a joke, just go Tera Online and see what i mean.
@coliber7 than this game is probably not for you. I'd suggest GW2 or Tera. Lots of action, not much dialogue, plot, or even story. Just lotsa smashing and crashing. Have fun!

@MrChocobosFTW lol this was a year ago, so im guessing this was the alpha version or maybe even before that. This game is going to play on mid range computers for the most part, and trust me you cant have a really good quality MMO without some kind of payment running it..and wtf is $15 every 30 days if you wish really that much money?

the ONLY graphical complaint i have is still the size of the lightsaber hilts. i can accept the art style, if barely, but those hilts just look so unwieldy its kind of a turn off. still gonna get this game tho. love bioware and love star wars.
@aznsteve128 There might be a greater variability in size when you consider the different types of lightsabers you would be able to get. dual wielding, double-bladed, specialized/advanced types...dunno just saying it might not be one size fits all.
the single player and questing looks absolutely brilliant. i am a little worried on the multiplayer part though. it doesnt seem it will have much content in that area. for example, WoW was a game that really did well on the multiplayer aspect but honestly fell short on the questing and soloing. this game looks like it will excel on soloing and questing but lack in muliplayer. both are not good situations because an MMORPG requires both the solo aspects and multiplayer aspects to truely succeed.
@ShadowClaw2324 It is a very RPG driven game... i would jest that its a KoTor 3 Online but there is allot multiplayer content. As with any MMO you have massive worlds(running threw most world would start to end take around 45-70minutes) w/o fighting and/or stopping to look around. Add to that, I know its more then 5 planets so far in addition to space-stations. All these things and places you can do and go with other people, as with any MMO.
I'm slighty worried... This game looks amazing, but all they're going on about at this time is the fact it has a story line! I'm beginning to think it's single player. Does anyone know if it has a free roam aspect where you go around doing quests like wow?that would be a game I would buy

I full expect this MMO to be either the most populated or second most populated (behind WoW). It seems like Bioware and LucasArts have a very strong control over this project and things seem to be going as planned.

The armor in the new "hope" trailer is almost a direct copy of the clone troopers armor, the ships look allike, and in this trailer, the uniforms are the same, the logo of the Empire is used, hell, even the ranks are the same.

First off no matter what your going to have to pay, this has way too good of graphics for them to spend ample amount of money then just make it free. @chadricka I doubt they are through releasing planets for this game. Just in the last month they've unveiled a new planet (Voss), bringing the planet total to 12.
I have to admit, the fully-voiced MMO tag is intriguing to me. I can't wait to see how the game experience will differ for me when every NPC in the entire game will actually have spoken dialogue.
I hope I am still sane when this game is released. I am going crazy waiting, but I am hoping it will be well worth my patience.

I imagine the point of it being in alpha is to refine their design. Plus it's not like they are trying to push beautiful graphics, they are stressing the story-telling aspect.
They said that they're aiming for Spring of 2011. I think that when it's released, the creators of all the MMORPGs will sit down, and say "We gotta make somethin' like the Old Republic.."
God damn I hate Cryptic Studios. I only wished that Bioware would have done Star Trek Online then it would really have kick ass and it would be up there with this amazing and kick ass game! Yeah I want to play Star Wars The Old Republic now! I can't wait! At least Mass Effect 2 will be the substitute for it until it releases!

Im worried about this game.
The voice acting and action andd ect is all good,
But look at those characters! the visual graphic quality is (at themoment) crap.
Also, think of the file size, and how good your computer will need to be to play this!
and on top of all that, itll prolly be Pay to Play.
Idk. I have a feeling its either going to be epic (if the make it so most computers can play it, and if its Free to play)
or its gonna make alot of fans unhappy.

I full expect this MMO to be either the most populated or second most populated (behind WoW). It seems like Bioware and LucasArts have a very strong control over this project and things seem to be going as planned.
I also fully expect this to eat up a large portion of my hard drive haha.

Some luck that technology hasn't changed in the past 3500 years...
The armor in the new "hope" trailer is almost a direct copy of the clone troopers armor, the ships look allike, and in this trailer, the uniforms are the same, the logo of the Empire is used, hell, even the ranks are the same.

ALl WoW have is endlesss gear grinding that noone likes and its pointless now since you can easily finish ICC in a pug. Now you'll probabbly say HARD MODE but guess what? I dont feel like wiping on the same 12 bosses again for the next 5 months till expansion comes out.

@Idunhavanamez as a veteran WoW player on break i can honestly say this COULD kill it. i've seen others pass and go with no lasting impact. aion was just shiny, star trek online wasn't appealing enough to people and felt clunky at times, eve online is like having a damn job but this...this could beat WoW. all those areas where world of warcraft comes up short this one seem to excel at. all i want now is a damn release date from these people.

First off no matter what your going to have to pay, this has way too good of graphics for them to spend ample amount of money then just make it free. That's why most of the good multiplayer online games cost money. Also to put this on a console would be moronic, for a roleplaying game with this kind of setup you need a mouse.

@chadricka I doubt they are through releasing planets for this game. Just in the last month they've unveiled a new planet (Voss), bringing the planet total to 12.
I have to admit, the fully-voiced MMO tag is intriguing to me. I can't wait to see how the game experience will differ for me when every NPC in the entire game will actually have spoken dialogue.
I hope I am still sane when this game is released. I am going crazy waiting, but I am hoping it will be well worth my patience.

Dialogues are enourmously important. When I look at "risen" for nexample. The game is so boring even if its technically great.
But I agree that I cannot see any facial expressions in SWtor. The emos in WOW are MUCH better.
Even NPCs have some gestures and facial expressions there all the time.
So SWtor is really antique in that area...

the WOW killer title is thrown around alot to any MMO that looks remotely interesting- warhammer, Aion, LOTRO, D&D, Conan, and countless Korean MMOs which dont even deserve to be named. but on the other hand Bioware is amazing and theyve been working on this forever. the real challenge is convincing 50% of the MMO subscription market (WoW players) to switch to TOR or pay monthly for 2 games.

@gooders1002 bioware is truley the best of all RPG making companies, they made great, critical hits on the ps3 and nentindo wii, such as the mass effect series which they will come out with mass effect 3 in 2011 (not sure when exactly) they made the KOTOR series and many other RPG's that where epic, they are killing off ps3 and wii games, one by one, and note i did not say the PC, the PC and xbox 360 are the best consoles now in my opinion
