  • Wow man this is one real nice stang you got there. Very original that you choose the 2.3 t for a swap engine! Is it all svo stock engine, with still the IHI turbo or did you mod it a little? Very clean.

I also have a built 2.3 engine, but in my 97 ranger.

  • @beluga420 The stock head has the biggest valves I could get in it and it is massively ported with a Boport 1.0 cam. It has a G3/G4 turbo with a ATR header, which I hate. I will be putting a Boport header on it some day soon I hope with a different turbo, one with ball bearing.

  • @GT140T Yeah I heard ATR headers are total crap. Maybe you mean 1.9 cam? This is the one I have and like it. Bo-port headers are the way to go if you want something good. Little expensive but it won't crack like those atr and chinese crap. How much did you pull on the dyno?

  • @beluga420 No, the cam is a 1.0, it is one of his older ones. On the dyno at 25 lbs of boost with a bad converter we got 300 rwhp. With 15lbs of boost before the converter went, we had 260 rwhp with a so so turn in the FAST.

  • @beluga420 Could you email me with all of the details of what kind of setup you have there? EEC tuner, Intercooler kit? Any help would be greatly appreciated my friend? Cobrasvt390@yahoo.com

  • @Sandsfamily01 If you're talking about that stang it isn't my car, it's gt140t's one. I have a turbo ranger tho.

  • Cool. Nice to see something different! And I bet the balance / handling is good with the lighter engine!

I have a '64.5 with 289 4V. It's in good shape, so I couldn't tear it apart to do like you did, though.

  • @MrMadamS69 Thanks, 8 years ago or so ago I had real nice one owner 66 fastback I was going to do this to, but my work slowed down so much I had to sell something and that is what I picked to sell. Two weeks later worked pick up so much that I wish I would have just waited. I would have done this to that car instead.

  • I did away with the distributor and MSD box completely and we are running an EDIS4 now. Still have to run a plug with a gear on it in the distributor hole, but I plumbed a oil line that sprays oil on the gear. I also installed a billet auxiliary shaft and a bronze gear on the distributor plug that runs the oil pump.

  • are you out of washington state? im not sure but i think this was the car that was at the shelton washington carshow this past summer???

  • @bad65stang Yes, that was me! It will be coming out in Modified Mustang Magazine anytime now. They told me, in one of the fall issue.

  • @GT140T nice!! I only live a block from where the carshow was lol....this wouldnt be my first choice but its still pretty mean...and REALLY clean lol....definitly something unique that no one else would have...nice car

  • @bad65stang The car has been down for several months now. The distributor gear failed. It was my fault for not running oil with zinc in it. As of the mid 90's they took zinc out of most all motor oil and if you have a car with regular lifters, distributor gears that run off of your cam or a nother gear, or your cam is gear driven then you will probably end up with gear failure or a flat cam soon. I also messed up and fried the FAST brain, my fault also. I have a nother FAST brain now.

  • @GT140T yup lol I made sure to put that additive in my 289 when i put the other cam in my fairlane lol....my neighbor said he went through 3 cams in two weeks in the early 2000s because of this

  • I always love the sound of a Ford 2.3L

  • nice car man, I would love to see i some time I live in portland. i have a 1964 mustang my self. you should put some turbo or flowmaster muffler on there it would sound sweet. where did you find the engine at?

  • @fly2344 It was in the Portland Roadster Show last week end. It will be at the Mild to WIld car show April 1-3 at the Puyallup Fair and Events Center in Puyallup Washington.

It has a pair of magniflow race mufflers on it. It sounds good. I built the engine myself. Started with a 86 SVO engine.

  • You are welcome!

  • That car is quite sexy, im using it as my inspiration. I got an 88 turbo coupe T-bird that i really like. One day maybe ill try to build a stang like this, till then im working on the bird though. Thanks for the videos.

  • what header is that

  • @tonyteb It is a ATR header, I will be replacing it with a Boprt ot Stinger header one of these days. The ATR header cracks over time where the four tubes come together and you have to cut it apart to fix it.

  • It has 300 rwhp and gets close to 30 mpg.

  • that is cool, how much power are you getting from it?

  • Very well done,,the 05+v6 wheels go good with this. the old 2.3 turbo when done right can blow peoples minds

  • wow what agreat lookin car with great motor choice

  • she is beautiful awsome you used a 2.3
