First off # mins on each side is way to long more like 30 seconds and hey even easier is to put them in the microwave for a few seconds (Cooking time on the bag)

then place them on low heat in the skillet once the pan is hot place chicken cheese let it start to melt then place top on give it a few seconds to adhere to the cheese press down slightly then flip over and wait for 30 seconds to a min then remove sheeeeeshh I thought you learned in collage guess not...

I make homemade quesadillas for the kids, and I think this is a simple method, but I would not brown the tortilla on both sides..it is definitely over done. also, I use smalled pieces of cooked chicken and sometimes add peppers and onions. Then after it's cut,, add a side of sour cream and salsa for more of a meal. yum!
