My high school marching band is doing this show this year it's called Tchaikovsky Resurrected it's bits and peaces of this symphony...it's def. gonna make us win all-states
In the TV show Car 54 Where Are You, Guther Toody and Francis Muldoone take a rookie cop along with them. Tp ass the time, Gunther wants to sing "five foot two and eyes of blue". The rookie cop says, "lets sing something we ALL know". Then he and Muldoone both start with this piece.
1st movement, allegro ma non troppo, the bassoon opens this extraordinary symphony with an obscure theme, followed by the violins and flutes, getting to a first animated tutti with an elaborated counterpoint, and then a diminuendo gives entrance to one of the most beautiful melodies, melancholic and sentimental, which will be amplified by the woods, before going to the first version, and then a dry chord opens the orchestra in fortissimo to the dramatic and agitated development section
Yeah, what kind of selfish idiot brings a cough to concert? Probably someone who thinks the world does or should revolve around them. (Banker or a lawyer probably)
The ultimate symphony by the master.

The coughs are added percussions to the song.
New modern interpretation.

@vei85 If we can have cannon blasts in 1812, why not coughs in Pathetique?

There always seems to be a person coughing during a play or show or whatever. If you're sick, don't come!

Thank for putting htis clip up. It's an example of someone who knows how to conduct PIT's more emotion-ridden pieces.- the 'eat nails' style.

You put this in front of Beethoven's 3rd, 5th, 6th, 7th, and 9th? Brahms 4th Mahler's 9th Mendelsshon's 4th Haydens 94, 101, 102, 103, and 104th?
Motzart's 40th and 41st? Schuberts9th? I know it is hard to compare to some of them, but you think it is superior to all, even Ludwig's 9th

@goethethegreat And don't forget Dvorák's 9th and Tchaikovsky's 5th...
