Thank you. I've said it before, and I'll say it again...It's so cool to hear and watch the commentary and stories of these jazz legends! For me it makes the music even more meaningful.
I LOVE IT.....Sonny Rollins is a Met fan! Now I know I can truly achieve the depths of the blues that the great Sonny Rollins does....because there's nothing that brings out the blues every year quite like a NY Mets season! --- Jimmy Heath is right there among the greats! Highly underrated during his career. There are many times I'm listening to the radio and I hear some great horn and I say hmmm, who's that? It turns out to be Jimmy Heath!
yes, you're right Bret. i've discussed it with Maxine and Darlene. i'd need help and funding though! almost all the widows are on the East Coast except Mrs. Moody, Land, Manne, Brown & Callender. i'm sure there are others here who i can't think of at the moment.
that is an under-statement, Bret!! the years are whooshing by. which makes the work you're doing all the more important. i regret not doing the project of interviews with all the jazz wives, most of whom have now passed away. i'm sure they had very interesting stories too!
@ValB222 Maybe you could do the Jazz wives that are still around. Dollie McLean, Diana Flanagan (?), Laurie Pepper, i'm sure there are more. Would be a fascinating project for you, Valerie.
Incredible!!!Jimmy Heath is amazing!!! Thank you, Bret!!!
