when you get them off, your teeth are so nasty at first because of all the plaque and tartar that you weren't able to get to with your toothbrush (it happens to everyone, lol) but its still an amazing feeling none the less. It feels like you have no teeth because you're so used to having those braces on! lol.

help i am getting my braces off in 3 weeks (hopefully) and i desperatley want to know how it feels during getting them off, does it hurt when they tug at the brackets to get them off your teeth? How does it feel once they are off? Do your teeth feel as slimey as everyone says, Do you feel like your teeth look abit big? And also what do the retainers feel like, do they feel abit painfull? particularly the Essix retainer? would appreciate it if someone replyed to me in good detail

@zoebrown15x hello so I had braces about 10 years ago.. haha its been a while.Anyways, when I got them off, it didn't hurt. they will pull the big metal sleeve things that go on the back of your molars off, and will take a little metal tool and pop off each of the brackets that are on your teeth, its not painful, just weird feeling.Usually your teeth are pretty gross when you get your braces off, since its harder to keep them clean with the brackets and other wires. Retainers don't hurt ;).

I reccommend that you make an appt right after you get your braces off to clean your teeth, there will be a lot of tartar build up left over (but don't worry, everyone has this when they have braces). and wear your retainer every night! otherwise your teeth will move back to their crooked position. I had to wear my retainer for at least 5-6 years before I could stop. also, when the braces are off, it will feel like you have no teeth because you are so used to them haha! ;).

@zoebrown15x last pointer lol, if you don't wear your retainer for a while, then try to use it again, it will hurt because your teeth will be forced to move back in place. But thats the only thing I can think of that actually hurts. enjoy having no braces! :)

No, it doesn't hurt, like ipodfreak1o1 said. All you will feel is pressure on some of your smaller teeth and it just comes off in one piece. Then they have to scape the glue off your teeth. But trust me, i had my braces since the 4th grade, and you have nothing to worry about. After you leave the orthadontist, your teeth will feel all slimey and weird!

I never had headgear. Just the braces, but I did used to have a metal bar inside my mouth on the roof of it that kept the back teeth separated.

I do race my Taurus, but it's just a standard model that I put a SHO bodykit on.
