Besides; it says right on the sheet music to TRY variations.

this is a great version...the first guy I've seen take the piece out to it's LOGICAl conclusion. Jealous, I suppose.

In the original Eschig-published sheet music (copyrighted 1972), there is no indication to "try variations." It does say "Cette étude peut admettre de nouvelles formules" (This etude can have newer [different] fingerings). That's what he meant by variations. The word you're most likely thinking of is "interpretation." At any rate, I stand by my statement.

This INTERPRETATION is just awful. It's probably because that's not what Brouwer wrote.

I met the composer, a long time ago. He was fine with taking the piece to new places. Where's your video, super asshole? I bet you play it like a stiff cadaver, too scared to play anything than what's written for you to follow like a scared Boy Scout.
