Probably because they respect each other. I mean, Metallica looked at Iron Maiden as idols? I mean Metallica said Iron Maiden was a huge influence to them thus Iron Maiden respected that. Or maybe Iron Maiden looked at Montrose as an influence, Metallicas influence was Iron Maiden. Iron Maidens influence could've been Montrose. That's my best guess.

Montrose has always been a band I have wanted to get into. For those who do not know this was sammy hager's first band. These guys were the blueprint for van halen.

Hager was the first singer of Montrose. Montrose put out their first album in 73, the same year van halen formed. Hager is 62 years old which is hard to beleave, Montrose was actually an early influnce of van halen. Hager then later joined the very band he influnced in 1985. That is probally the reason why Hager lasted in VH as long as he did.

That's a hilarious- and well-deserved- dig at Metallica right at the end. Great, ass-kicking cover by the greatest, most ass-kicking band of all time.

As an aside, it's amazing that Nicko could actually speed up like that and still stay on time, AND maintain his signature drumming style. He truly is one of the great drummers of modern rock/metal.

Well... technically speaking, it's only Bruce that seems to have a real beef with Rectallica. Everyone else gets on quite well with each other, except Bruce. I know that 'Arry and Lars have played tennis together in the past and clearly have a lot of respect for each other, but Bruce has often gone on record bad-mouthing Metallica (as an ex-Metallica fan, I think he's justified, but that's just me).
