Hi Nice!!! i have the same cards but in crysis benchmark i havthe same frames with 2??? please help me..have you a mod for trifire? crysis youse only my 2 cards?
Help me plz. When use this benchmark instead of going in circles the program alone, the benchmark makes me play the first stage. Why is that? Am i doing something wrong? Only if I Run the .bat file in Bin64 I get the benchmark u did.
Considering that you need 3 x 5870s to play Crysis with the real lifesis mod @ 24xmsaa, 16xaf, dx10, 1920x1080 and with vsync enabled, I can't see how it can be overkill...
@luv2increase Do you still run those settings in the CCC? if so that is so retarded. Mipmap detail level = performance? are you kidding me? ....at least Adaptive AA? AI to advance ? you know that option is mostly for benchmarks and not supported games since it sacrifices some IQ for speed.
@MartinKARRR i agree, i have a 4670 and i can run everything maxed with reasonable AA, on a 17" 1280x1024, if you have 1080p and you need 16 mother f***ing AA your monitor (hence pixles) is too big, you can get 20"hd and you wouldnt even notice any difference with ANY AA. once your eye's adjust the screen size makes no diff, 'less your playing a strategy game in which case you dont need the power to run bigger screens at higher rez's anyway.
Hey dude I was thinking about adding two more 5870's to get tri fire. But I play at 2560x1600 and saw this benchmark that said there is only a 5fps gain going from 2x to 3x 5870 with 2560x1600 in crysis. Is this true? I would hope to get more than a 5 fps gain spending 400 dollars on a third card. Benchmark extreme reviewed it and compared it to 3x gtx 285
Well, the new GF100 (512SP) cards will be significantly better than the 5870s. You will also get the added benefit of CUDA and PhysX with the Nvidia offering.
The main thing to look for is "price". It all depends on the price. I think the comparison will be 3 x 5870s will equal the performance of 2 x GF100 (512SP). The 5870s should drop in price soon.
I would wait to see the price/performance ratio of the GF100 cards before you made a decision. Good luck!
As of right now, the 9.12 is definitely the best driver "period".
Yes, the new 9.12 runs this benchmark fast, about 5FPS, so I'm at 70FPS @ 8xAA. I used 16xQAA for this video, but it was only running @ 8xAA because that is the highest ATI cards can go "in-game".
When I actually play Crysis, I force 24xMSAA via CCC and 16xAF. The 5870s in Tri-Fire handle is nicely :)
Right now, the 9.12 Hotfix drivers are currently the best. The leaked beta and RC drivers (8.69 & 8.70) are not as good as the 8.682.2 9.12 hotfix drivers.
Hopefully, when 10.1 WHQL releases, it will be better than the 9.12 hotfix drivers.
lol ooops I meant dirt 2. with the dirt 2 hotfix, i would get about 80fps with those settings (tri-fire broken) and with CF (2 GPUs), I got 97FPS --> SEE my vid.
These drivers are the best that ATI has probably ever put out! That is the truth!
I've been playing Crysis lately with the Real Lifesis mod with the TOD2 with the following settings:
24xSSAA (edge-detect)
16xAF
Vsinc
Highest Mipmap detail
You can force higher AA settings via the CCC in this game, and it works.
ATI now has the best AA and AF quality in the world with the 5700, 5800 & 5900 series cards. They've completely redone their AA and AF algorithms, and the quality finally surpasses that of the GT200(b) Nvidia cards!!!
Nice Score :) You can test times 2560x1600 noAA your LCDTV can Downsampling 2560x1600 to 1920x1080 that should function. Select times in the GPU Benchmark 2560x1600 and look whether it functioned. Thanks.
Cool build dude omfg :D I got the 5770 and i can barely manage decent fps with 8xAA at 1440X900 and maybe at 1680X1050 and AA on interior levels :D :))
I think when ATI gets better drivers out, that will change.
With the 8.663.1 drivers, I average around 69fps on this same test with the same settings. I didn't keep them because Crysis is virtually the only game I can run more than 1 GPU on with severe screen flickering!

Well it is nice and all, but i think you can play without that and still enjoy it, dont get me wrong i really love gaming, i really do.

Also, could I do the same by just adding a single 5970? That was I could save 200 bucks and keep my 850w power supply. Thanks so much!

Is the new 9.12 Catalyst faster in the Benchmark? :-)

@Beclubter
With the new 9.12 (8.681) drivers, I get 165FPS @ 1920x1080 with the Ultra preset and 8xMSAA!!!!!!!!
Yes, I even hit a GPU Score on 3dMarkVantage of 36992 today with the new drivers!!! That is 6000 higher than with the 9.11!!!!!

16xQ work not with Ati Cards, this is 2xAA...1920x1080 2xAA
2xAA and 4xAA work with Ati in this Benchtool the Other AA Modes not
Beclubter 2 years ago
Actually, it just defaults to 8xAA for ATI cards if set at 16xQAA. 8xAA is the highest that ATI cards can do this benchmark at.
luv2increase 2 years ago
Yes. What do you have with 8xAA Average? :)

hi dude, i like your reviews. they are great.
hey, what monitor do you use?
is that a samsung series 6 tv?

Thanks!
It is the Samsung 46" LN46A630.
It has the 120hz automotion, and it's 1080P. It has awesome picture easily comparible to the xbr sony bravia series.
Samsung and Sony are the two top-end LCD companies IMHO.
