The Exsultet is sung by a Deacon ! However, it can be sung by a person who is not a deacon. I usually end up singing this ever year in my church as we don't have a deacon. As I am Organist & Choirmaster it's still pretty horrendous to get note perfect in a Church in darkness and very little light at the Lectern/ambo. This clip is pretty good although pitched lower. There's also a tendency to clip the rhythm of the length of the notes !
I tell you my fellow Christians, that all the sins in this world is accountable to the churches, for if they only unite and upheld free giving instead of buying and selling, there could be no robber and thieves among them, nor is there a chance for athiestic view to rise. The Way of God had suffered abusive speech from the enemies of God because the churches are harlot.
@Lisanab Women can sing this! My mom and I have both sung the exultet at our Catholic Church. It just depends on where you are and if your priest doesn't mind. Our Deacon has never tried to sing it. So the cantor or whoever is in the choir can sing it. So like I said, the exultet is not just sung by the Deacon or by a male but can be sung by a woman too.
This is the longest thing in church. It makes me nervous since we have lights during the proclamation, and I'm afraid of getting wax on me and it would burn.
Our parish uses these little plastic "hand guards" that slip onto the bottom of the candles for the faithful. They look much like an upside down pop-bottle top.
If you are speaking of the Paschal candle, then I've got no suggestion.
It greatly entertains me that the 2 people who responded to my comment were italiansexgoddess2 and lustful2.

Normally, the Exsultet is sung but a priest or deacon, but someone else may sing it if the priest or deacon is unable to carry a tune.

Can be sung by a priest or cantor as well. I've just seen it.

Pretty good, even in the lower key...but those melismatic notes are not triplets. They should be sung as the same length as the other neumes.
