Hi, Andy. You'll be fine. I've been to Munich 6 times (I'm British) and I've never found my lack of German to be a problem. Most Germans speak excellent English, especially those in a large international city such as Munich. They're very friendly people, too. Oktoberfest itself is an international event, attracting Brits, Irish, Italians, and so on. You'll have a great time! I'm going again this year!
