Kind of ironic since she deals with those who's lives get cut short.

You can tell the Professor Payne has a crush on Melinda because if you saw the episode right after Melinda almosts dies. He said: "Even though I wasn't there, all the feelings in my body just dropped. I wouldn't be able to live without you."
