Fire engines often travel in pairs and they are taught that the second one must allow for this occurrence as the civilian is concentrating on the first vehicle and cant hear the second. It is the same for pedestrians waiting to cros the road.As somebody has pointed out American sirens were a backward step as they are louder but make it more difficult to work out the direction they are coming from.
birkenhead is in smack city or smack city is birkenhead.birkenhead is merseyside.dont make me laugh.birkenhead is in the wirral.rubber scousers .they live in the shadows of liverpool sucess. they like to call it there hometown. dickheads
If you're immediately behind a responding unit, you ought to be using a different tone on your siren, many drivers won't realise there's two of you otherwise :) Obviously no-one is perfect and the driver behind must have already recently changed his tone.
and how many people here making comments are actually reponse drivers? or just think they know what its like to response drive? its harder than it looks.
@hotfuzz9909 amen to that. im a police explorer and every so often we get to drive squads for our training and even just speeding through public works with no traffic can be pretty tricky lol
he should have looked a second time to ensure that there was no more vehicles behind the first response car. However the 2nd responding car should not have moved until the black corsa had given a clue that he has seen the 2nd response car. They should have used the 2nd or third tone of the sirens by hitting their horns.
now see the current phaser siren, very useful the wail and yelp are crap bring back the wail and the yelp from like 2000 and that is a good siren also essex anpr 's siren is awesome
DOESNT APPEAR to be much wrong witht this to me.... if it were that close then the black car would have slammed on its brakes and stopped. it carried on going. the police car didn't even swerve.

You don't have to look hard, both with or without blue lights, to see the decidely avererage (ie poor ) driving of many response drivers. I have shut my eyes on ocassion convinced I am about to see an horrendous crash. Aws others have said, both running with Yelp is, it's possibly the reason the driver of the black car started moving isnt it?
Poor driving by the second car.

if they had an 'american style' Q, they would have been heard long before they were seen. Get a Q & Powercall and your good to go.

@HelluvaBadShot A Q on a police car? Fire trucks all the way, not on a police cruiser dude

"The second one is nearly struck by a car turning right"
"Because that car wasn't using his mirrors to see blue and white flashing lights in his left mirror."
it was his right mirror, going to tell someone off, do it right!

Loads of room there. The camera angle is deceiving.
hifromrich 2 years ago 26
@hifromrich not really, you can see there was only about 2 and a bit metres room when the second car went past the black corsa

@SonicOverlordUK. He DID have it on!
eagled96 2 years ago
He meant the wail or pier tone. The tone that the second car was using was the yelp, same as the front car.
policeblue999 2 years ago
Nearly had a smack. If the guy at the back had his wail or peirer on then the black car may have noticed.
