  • Okay WHY is there a fifteen minute ad on this video. Thank god for the skip button.

  • 12:50-14:59 awesome moment ! Thanks i just learned lots of new things , thanks so much !

  • @rabidsnake123 Well, it supports a whole list of different settings, 4 DAW Inputs, 3 speaker outputs, subwoofer output, etc. Also, you can adjust every monitor pair wirb different settings and store that in the host, like if you have nearfield speakera with a subwoofer and midfields without subwoofer, then this device can be set to switch off the subwoofer automatically, if you change the speakers. Read the specs on this thing, it's impressive!

  • Does anyone know what that wireless thing is he uses to control the volume is at 12:42 ??

  • @rabidsnake123 Hi there, that thing is called Dangerous Monitor ST. It's not wireless and consists of two parts, the controller, which you can see in the video (that's the device you meant) and a host, which you can also see behind Thomas' head (flat white device on top in the console). It's about 2.000 $ ;-)

  • @robertmintmusic What exactly is it? Why's it so expensive?

  • @IModIfyI your best bet is to subscribe to Future Music, you will get loads of advice on gear, technique and production from industry professionals : )

  • @FutureMusicMagazine agree but i think this is more more people who already knows a litlle bit about productions. Not sure its for complete beginners!

  • @FutureMusicMagazine ARTY please!!!!!!!

  • @FutureMusicMagazine Well its a bit more in depth than that FMM....lol, when i first got into producing i didnt realize how much stuff one actually needs to know to produce quality music, i would suggest sonicacademy, and then pretty much any article you happen to come across that looks like it might have something worth learning....so really the only way to learn everything you need to know....time, and practice

  • @FutureMusicMagazine and too computer music mag. another future publication.... and, dare i say it here, music tech mag is good too. they have some very experienced people writing tuts and articles...

  • @FutureMusicMagazine Written by FutureMusic

  • Your best advice is to read message boards/producer forums. If you don't understand something, GOOGLE it! You don't have to pay a dime to learn to produce in 2011.

  • @IModIfyI find a coarse that teaches it and then do that coarse.

  • @IModIfyI another suggestion is a guy named boyinaband

  • @IModIfyI LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

  • @IModIfyI yeah fro like 30 to 40 bucks you can subscribe to future music. for me what i've been doing is reading books on it there's a whole lot of stuff on like amazon if you just search like drum programming or music production they'll give you a shit ton of results.

  • @IModIfyI 1: Go to Library. 2: Go to Informative books. 3: Buy/lend some audio-engineering/music-software books 4: Read them. 5: Watch video's on the internet. 6: Instal a simple program, like FL studio/Garage band, mess around with it and learn. 7: When you know the basics, buy/instal some good programs like Protools/Logic/reason. 8: Buy yourself some decent speakers, a keyboard and some Plug-ins. 9: Buy/lend more books and watch more tutorial's to go in the details. 10: Make your own music!
  • @hardstyleaddictedNL

11: Keep making new tracks and you will become better and better.

12: Read more books, and listen to songs and try to find out how it's made.

13: If you're really into this, get an audio-engineering technician education or course.

14: Get more hard/software and maybe samples, or create your own.

15: The only thing you need now is inspiration.

This is how i did it ;)

The only thing I need is nr. 13, gotta finish this education before I can do Audio-engineering :(

  • @IModIfyI ICON Collective in LA. learn2produce(dot)com. I go there and it's great!

  • @IModIfyI

spend money and read the manuals

  • @IModIfyI ur answers lies within time "<.<"

  • @IModIfyI and subscribe to computer music, which is future musics sister publication, as well as getting a future music subscription.

also, the fact that you searchong on youtube is a start too. every synth , softsynth, effect, and DAW, i have, there are tuts for on youtube. there are also tuts for different styles.

and then the rest is practise, which to me is fun. it is what i love doing, so i do it. these days i force myself to have days off.or else i go silly.

  • @IModIfyI The software is called logic pro thats all i know!

  • @IModIfyI read and watch lots of tutorials and practice....

  • @IModIfyI dude seriously? you ever tried google or youtube?

  • Anyone know which desk that is?

  • They Need: Afrojack, David Guetta, Deadmau5 (The one they have only shows how he prepares his life performance), Van Buuren, and Daft Punk!

  • he's so excited about the clap

  • does anyone know the name of the curve shaped device to his right that he uses to control the volume ?

  • what is that awesome cool peace of gear at 2:01 ? i want the drum machine!!!!! :D

  • @Fissenkaj it's called Elektron Machinedrum SPS-1 MKII..:)

  • Anyone interested in getting a clone of this project for free?

Subscribe in my channel when i get 1000subs, it will be available for download!

  • @Reaper1984

Ops, wrong track, i mean Silence Delerium!

  • I think thomas gold is great, he really share his way of making music. he's not like one of those producers that hides everything and dont want anyone to know how they do. Thank you Thomas!

  • I want "in the studio" with Popof, please ! and any german producers from Cocoon records.

  • How would music sound over like 100 years?

  • wonderful !

  • YOU DONT COMPRESS THE BASSDRUM??!!!!

  • @daddelpaj he said 'not often' sometimes bassdrum samples are alredy far too compressed.. compressing them anymore you would just loose bottom end

  • @daddelpaj

It has already been compressed, he uses samples like everybody else.

Compressing it even more (already been compressed if its "sampled") just makes it loose lowend.

  • what program he use??

  • @Deimathe Logic 9

  • NEW REMIX CONTEST Miles Diego - Disaster Original mix (My PAGE)

  • Dutch dj"s are world leading!!1

  • thumb up if you want: in the studio with AFROJACK!!

  • @Diegomolinams98 thumbs down on talking sh*t on a great tutorial by Thomas gold....

  • @Diegomolinams98 there's afew of afrojack in the studio from his own youtube mate.

  • Awesome. So cool of him to show us the whole track, even down to his plug-in in parameters.

  • would sound better if he didnt sample so much. record your own claps and snaps kids

  • @DenemChikn I think by 'sound better,' you mean would 'suit your ideology of what a professional producer should be doing.' There's no orthodox way to being a great producer, so if he makes good music he makes good music. The reason producers use samples are because they sound good.

  • @binge08 bahahaha. the reason you dont use samples is because someon has already recorded it, layered it and put their own effects on it to suit that track. then someone else samples it, layers it and puts their own effects and shit overtop of that. so the result is a shitting sounding crunchy fucking sample but by all means sample away. just makes no sense when its something as easy to record as a fucking clap...

  • Comment removed

  • @DenemChikn You make some good points, but I guess my main reasoning is that making music isn't an exact science and Thomas Gold makes awesome music, so I think 'improving on his sound' is more-or-less a moot point.

  • Fuck dude... are you using the internal sume of Machinedrum.. you are a monkey!

  • Just a bunch of semi-pro gear and tons of no talent!

  • @gsagula2 unfortunately you haven't got any of those
