the manual says : kill the engine with the key only, the kill button is for emergency only, so the procedure here is of course mistaken. in the long run your battery will have to be replaced before it would have been necessary.
@Justinpie91 the kill switch is for fuel to flow into the engine, shut it off and you cut off the fuel flow, which basically cuts off the engine from the gas.

You might need to rejet your carbs since you have an aftermarket exhaust. It'll start a lot better, for one.
