  • i have audio sync problems ?? why

  • @PandaGamingUK

I can't diagnose problems using a crystal ball from 10,000 miles away.

Some information about your project would be useful.

However, when I look into the glass I do see a possibility.

Does the frame rate of your source video match the Project Property settings AND "Render As" custom template settings precisely ?

For example: if you shot/recorded at 29.97fps, but then rendered to 25fps, this can cause sync issues.

  • Hey did you use the same settings for this video?

  • @HecticSlime

    Yes.

  • thanks!!!!!

  • you forgot to to the last bit where you change the render thing to best

  • @GamingMan96

    I didn't forget anything.

Because I had set my Project Properties to "Best" at the very beginning, this setting Automatically follows through into the Render As - Customize Window.

So Vegas has already set it to Best.

  • Every time i try to render a vid, using ur settings its fine, until it starts to render then i get these black bars at the sides. Any thoughts ? :/

  • @Kierenmck52

You have one of the settings in the Render As - Customize Window set incorrectly by the sounds of it.

Have a close look at the Frame Size and Pixel Aspect Ratio settings.

It must be 1280x720 and Pixel Aspect Ratio=1.0

  • @TemporalParadox1 Thanks, tht helped alot :), sorry but another question !!

do u know how to fix a video when it renders out of sync, ive finished a video and ive tried to render it about 6 times and it goes out of sync. i edited it correctly though :S

  • @Kierenmck52

Did you make a video with an .mp4 extension ?

If the answer is yes, then you may be experiencing a rare problem that exists because of a Apple Quicktime setting.

Type "quicktime" into the search box on my channel and watch video - I show how to fix the setting, which should put your videos back in sync.

**If this is NOT your problem, then did you MATCH your "frame rate" settings between your "original video", "project properties" and "render as" settings ?

  • @Kierenmck52

    PART 2:

Changing the frame rate can also cause Audio Sync problems.

  • ty for the vid, great program just edited somthing disgusting and i want to see every snot ball and throwing up scene in high def :D

  • @dobby240

    :)

  • Would you recommend using these settings when uploading game play that I've recorded on this computer?

  • @zyx4490

I recommend these settings for ANY type of video you wish to make for YT.

The only difference comes down to what bit rate you choose to render your video in - as I spoke about in the video.

Remember that YT compresses everything that gets uploaded - so if the video looks good on your computer, but then degrades after upload to YT, you may have to re-render at a higher bit rate and then re-upload to YT.

  • it says error 400, oh ya and i have sony vegas pro 11

  • @supatreeck

Are you using the "Upload to YouTube" function in Vegas ?

If so, don't upload this way.

You render your video like I show in this video, then go straight to YT and press Upload there - then you navigate to the rendered video in Vegas Projects folder (inside your Documents folder).

  • @TemporalParadox1 i think i alread ydid that, thing is i have sony vegas pro 11, not 10. it looks a ton different when i render as.

  • @TemporalParadox1 OH! i figured it out! its a TON different for pro 11. thnx though!

  • @supatreeck hey it says that for mine too. did u ever fix that

  • @ExposedHaVoc yes i did when you render it and the thingy comes up select the mp4 format. this problaby didnt help i'll give you a more detailed explanation next time i use sony vegas

  • Hi!!! I upload a video but it haven't any sound? What went wrong? I tried several times but everytime has the same problem...please help!!!!!!

  • I tried everything u have done but when i open back the video is shows nothing? help?

  • @BluePhoenixs

I will have a wild stab in the dark here.

Maybe you have "render loop region" turned on by accident, which would not render the selected project properly.

Type "loop" into the Search Box on my channel and watch the video first.

  • thanks i'll have a crack at it and let you know ;)

  • thanks my hade the loop sitting on and it was rendering a bit of my video

  • I Did What You Did But When I Uploaded It Had A Error. Can You Make A Vid Or Comment Back? How?

  • @shraveya

Did you upload the video by pressing "Upload" in Youtube and then finding your video?

Some people make the mistake of rendering the video and then pressing "Upload to Youtube" from the toolbar in Vegas - don't do this.

Check the properties of your rendered video by booting up Vegas - press Import Media and find your NEW rendered video. Once it is in Vegas, look at the Properties for it which display at the bottom of the Project Media Tab - send them to me.

  • @TemporalParadox1 Oh Ok Thanks!

  • @TemporalParadox1 wait i have the same problem, and what you just said is too complicated for me.....PLEASE DO A VIDEO ON PLEASE (and PLEASE reply)

  • thanks alot i forgot all my settings lol and could not find a video to show me :) so thanks again (subbed + Liked)

  • @MrIzzyxClan

    Cheers :)

  • hey when i render it with the same settings it does'nt upload to YouTube? Help?!

  • @DeepTheatre

Does the video playback after you have rendered it in Vegas?

I hope you are not using the Make Movie button to upload to YT.

After your video is rendered, go to YT and press Upload button - then navigate to the rendered video on your computer - it will be in your Documents Folder.

  • @TemporalParadox1 This comment helped me alot lol thank u :)

i kept uploading and it gave me this error Failed (unable to convert video file)

so im going to try upload this new video i found in my documents with over 1gb

    hopefully this works

  • @tazmantv

    Good luck.

  • @Its20oz

I have already made videos discussing this topic.

Type "improve" into the search box on my channel and you will find video.

Then do a 2nd search on "smoothly".

These three videos give all the reasons and answers.

  • when i render my video with all the same setting i save it to desk top and push play its only like a tenth of a second long wth

  • @RangeTankPk

You have accidently rendered a "Loop Region Only".

Type "loop" into the search box on my channel and you will find a video that will show you what to do.

  • wow thanks i was having so much trouble rendering projects this tutorial really helped

  • @mrtomf11

    Glad I could help :)

  • I have a problem everytime i render it, the video ends up being laggy and glitchy. please help!

  • @Nub901

What type of video did you render? wmv ? mp4 ?

What are you playing the new video with?

  • I LOVE YOU. so much :D i checked all this other vids about the same problem and nothing worked. you rock <3

  • @littlemissmaija

    Thanks for that lovely comment.

    Peace :)

  • @mrblackversion

    Cheers :)

  • So if i choose the windows media setting it wount make each vid 2GB? cuase thats annoying!

  • @Carnanty

    What are you talking about?

WMV doesn't turn video into 2GB files.

I can only guess that you selected "Video for Windows" - which is not what I said.

  • @TemporalParadox1 no im using .avi to render. which is the default. and no im talking about u said to select 'Windows Media Video'

  • @Carnanty

AVI is not the default, there is no default - avi's produce massive files - do not use it for a finished product.

WMV is for a final product - it produces very small file sizes compared to all other codecs.

  • @TemporalParadox1 oh ok ty.

  • whats the difference between Sony Movie Studio HD 10 Platinum and the sony vega version ?

  • @TheXcinerator

There is no version called "Sony Vega".

There is Vegas Pro 10 if that's what you mean.

If you watch my new video on version 11 of Movie Studio called "Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11 Included Tools & Video Fx Review" you can learn about some differences.

To get the full comparison, go to Sony Creative Software and click on one version of Vegas - from there you can view the comparison chart between ALL versions.

  • hi im using sony vegas pro 10. I rendered my video in mp4 mode but when i uploaded it to youtube it really stuffed up in terms of quality colour etc. So i rendered it in wmv format and was ok but i realised it was too small. So i then rendered it in wmv format again but now there is no sound with the video,,, its baffled me. Plz help. thanks

  • @alopine098765

I have a video on my Render Settings for Vegas Pro 10.

Type "Pro 10 720p" into the search box on my channel and watch the tutorial VERY closely.

YouTube compresses the size and colour range of all videos - if your videos are changing too much after upload, try adding Brightness & Contrast or Colour Correction filter from Video FX Tab.

  • I dont have all the type you have-.- I can just save the files in 4 type... And that is not wmv :( PLEASE HELP ME!

  • @zzcrasyfferzz

What version of Vegas are you using - exactly please.

I need more information about exactly what you are trying to do and what your project looks like.

You can send me a private message.

  • AUSSIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

  • @MrProfessorWyatt

"My Screen Recorder" basic edition by Deskshare.

I have made a tutorial on this with my settings.

Type "screen" into the search box on my channel and you will find it easily.

  • How long does it take to pocess after upload?

  • @xXRaginXx

Processing time on YouTube is all about YT.

I have noticed huge differences in processing time once a video has been uploaded.

Using the different YT Uploaders can change times as well.

I normally make sure to keep the Upload window OPEN until the processing is completed - I might be imagining things, but if you click of window before 100% processed, it takes longer. IDK.

  • How long does it take to render?

  • @xXRaginXx

All depends on the speed of your computer and length of the project.

10 minutes of wmv video can take anywhere from 25-30minutes plus to render - the more effects and transitions you have, the longer it will take.

Windows Media Video normally is slower to render than say Sony AVC codec.

  • thanks man

  • OMG! this helped sooo much! thank you!

  • THXS MAN GOOD HLEP

  • TYVM I now can make youtube videos. Was about to buy Sony Vegas Pro and spend 500$ extra.

  • Hi, I really want to get into editing video gameplay from my 360 using a Hauppage HDPVR. I can't afford the $600 asking price for Sony Vegas so I was wondering how suitable this would be for editing and rendering HD videos for YouTube? Any insight would be great! Thanks :)

  • @Gojets567

Vegas Movie Studio is just a stripped down version of Vegas Pro.

It can do all the same things and more.

Two differences are that MS can only edit in 2D, whereas Pro version can edit in 3D & do masking.

Movie Studio is an excellent program for anyone wanting to make HD YouTube videos.

Make sure you buy the Production Suite version which will give you Sound Forge Audio Studio and very cool NewBlue Transitions & Fx.

  • What size do you record your videos at? ( screen resolution?)

  • @FofRogue

    1600 x 900 px

This seems to be the best size to cover a wide range of computer screen sizes.

If you record at 1920x1080, then people will need to use a microscope to see anything, if they are viewing on a small laptop screen - which is probably at least half of YT.

If you record lower than 1280x720, it gets too chunky and pixelated on large monitors.

I use "My Screen Recorder" and record to WMV at maxed out settings, which produces a nice small file unlike AVI.

  • @TemporalParadox1 Okay, i record at 1680 x 1050 and whenever i render my videos the resolution is not full, there are two bars on each side of my video =/

    Any suggestions?

  • @FofRogue

I just deleted your next question by mistake as I was trying to reply, so I pasted it back in.

1680x1050 is not 16:9 Aspect Ratio - that's why you have the black bars.

Easy way to fix is to use the Event Pan/Crop button in Vegas on the video in timeline.

Go to the top on EPC and select 16:9 Widescreen from drop down menu - this will zoom in slightly and remove black bars.

  • @TemporalParadox1 Thank you for the help! I was also wondering if i used a higher resolution monitor and recorded if i wouldn't have to zoom in it all.

  • @FofRogue

All monitors have different Aspect Ratio sizes.

A lot of monitors are actually 16:10 ratio - so if you screen record on this, you will always have to zoom in to make it 16:9 Widescreen Video format.

Only recently have more monitors started being sold in 16:9 ratio.

I hope that answers your question.

  • Thanks so much for the tips ! :)

  • @jamesprankerd

    Glad I could help.

I think rendering video is where people seem to have the most problems, because there are so many options and settings.

Lately I have started to render some of my larger projects, using the Sony AVC settings.

WMV makes a smoother type of video picture, whereas Sony AVC (H.264) is higher contrast and sharper look. Depending on what the video is about, I now flip between the two.

  • when you have render it can you delete it the video what you have rendered

  • *-* I love your accent. My Northern one is boring D:

Anyway, thanks for this. I've been looking for a vid like this all night xD

  • @ZaneTruesdale417

    Glad I could help.

    Peace :)

  • i keep uploading the damn video in both 5 and 6 mbps and it worked before now its just being an ass lol

  • How did you do the revolving cube at the end of the video? Is that a plug in or do you have tot on it?

  • @mediayear1

The revolving cube is a New Blue Transition called New Blue 3D Box Explode.

It comes free as part of a sample collection of New Blue Video & Audio Fx, and Transitions WHEN you buy the Production Suite version of Vegas Movie Studio.

Read what I have to say on my Channel Home Page.

Very good sample of Transitions in my opinion - much, much cheaper than having to buy individually from New Blue - who over charge for everything.

  • how do you upload the video to youtube?? cuz i look for it in the document or whatever that i saved it in and its not there??

plz respond im soo confused :((

  • @MysteryToTheEarth

OK, don't worry. It can be easy to lose your files.

#1 It's important to note the file path you created when you started with the "new project" window.

#2 When you click "RENDER AS", open up "SAVE IN" at the very top, to make sure the rendered video is going to be saved in the right folder. Normally Vegas will auto-generate a folder called "RENDERS" to save the video in. Sometimes you can accidently put it in the wrong folder and lose track of it.

  • @MysteryToTheEarth

#3 To find missing files on your computer, you can use the search function in WIndows.

Click the Windows START button and you will see Search Bar.

If you rendered a 720p HD video as I taught in the video, the file will end with .wmv

So to find your missing files, type the EXACT name of the file followed by .wmv (name of file.wmv)

  • @MysteryToTheEarth

#4 To Upload to YouTube, click UPLOAD in the YouTube window.

Then go searching on your Hard Drive for the rendered file.

  • as british people would say "good god this takes for ever!"

  • @XboXfest

as Aussies would say "Now that the work is done, it's time to crack open a beer!"

  • Thanks, this worked perfect for me:)

  • The rendering takes a long time!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @NOVOLOCOS

This is normal for HD rendering!!!!!!!!!!!!

Every computer on Earth is doing the same thing!!!!!!!!!!

  • my video uploads to youtube but when i search for it i copy the name of the video and yet when i search for it it says its not found or its not there but if i go to "MY VIDEOS" i can watch it from there and its public and everything

  • @sutial1423

Go and search the YouTube Help Forum.

You will find hundreds of pages reporting the same problem from time to time.

    This is a YT problem.

Sometimes it can take days or weeks before your video shows up in the YT search engine.

It has nothing to do with Vegas.

  • @TemporalParadox1 Okay thanks i just wanted to know.

  • hi i took your advice and downloaded the any video converter free software you mentioned in the tutorial video. i want to convert a div x plus player type video for uploading and playing on youtube. what settings do you recommend ? thanks for the tutorial and response .could you do a video dealing with div x player type file conversions and then rendering on movie studio for youtube play back?

  • i have a problem...i tried to render the video as wmv, mp4, amv and others but when i open it after it's finished it's always only 1 second long :( i tried everything but it's not working..can u help me?

  • @vaMpir3miSs

You have RENDER LOOP REGION ONLY turned on.

Watch this video I have made and all will be well.

    "Rendering a Loop Region Only..........."

  • Thank you very much for your help. This the first video I;ve seen that told me to deselect loop region. Thank you very much.

  • @YGT224

    Glad I could help.

When I first started using Vegas 3 years ago, this was my first BIG headache.

I have made a video on this topic that explains how to use this function correctly.

    "Rendering a Loop Region Only............."

  • hi nice vid it really helped. so i managed to upload a video thanks to your tutorial but the audio is out of sync with the video .i used a div x video i had saved to my computer i edited it i rendered it but when i play it the sound doesnt line up with the video.its out of step. what must i do to fix this problem thanks

  • @sonofdracula

You can't import DivX or Xvid video files into Vegas.

You will have to convert these files into a different codec first, before placing them into Vegas.

I have just uploaded a new tutorial to show you how I convert Video.

  • This was very very helpful. I have tried other methods in the past that just have not worked. Yours did! Thank you so much

  • @levlin02

    Glad I could help.

    Peace :)

  • @WizardofSoIazz

    Never heard of this.

Need to know info about video.

    Frame size?

Video type - mp4 or wmv or something else?

While you are uploading, there is a small arrow box pointing down. If you open this up, it tells you what YT thinks your video type is - container, codec, frame size.........write this down.

Have you tried searching YouTube Help Forum?

  • thanks

  • Thanks that's exactly what i needed :)

  • This isn't related to the video but do you have a guide or if it's simple enough to post on here how do you edit the speed of a clip per say?

  • Hi @CresentMoonGuy

I have already made a tutorial on this topic.

Look for "Speeding Up or Slowing Down Video......."

    Dex :)

  • Where's the love button? Thanks mate! Aussies are awesome lol.

  • @CresentMoonGuy

    Glad I could help.

    Peace

    Dex :)

  • I'm looking to buy my first camcorder, but most HD ones seem to be 1920x1080 now, - like MrSkateforyou's. My computer spec is just about OK for the basic Sony Studio 9 basic edition, and I can't afford to upgrade it.

Is there some reson you can't you just click 1280x720 within Studio 9 and get your 1920x1080 footage converted to something faster to edit & upload to YouTube?

Is the only answer to buy a 720p camera, if I can find one?

  • Hi @frailit

    Really great question.

Just changing your Project Properties will have no effect.

Most HD cameras have 3-5 recording quality settings that will produce dramatically different file sizes. Using a mid range setting of 12 MBps should work with your computer. It is when people film in the 24 Mbps max setting that file sizes become too big for may peoples average computers.

I am making a tutorial on this topic very soon.

    Dex :)

  • @TemporalParadox1

Thanks for that, I thought I'd run out of options, since I couldn't find a 720p HD camera.

I'll look out for the forthcoming tutorial. Incidentally, you do them really well - yours run at a reasonable pace (wouldn't want it any faster!) and the narrative is unhurried yet to the point. Spot on.

    Many thanks.

  • This is Awesome! The rendering took a really long time but it worked perfectly for my HD 16:9 needs! Thank you!!

  • @VenusVoicez

    Great stuff.

What I am about to say applies to everyone.

Rendering HD files in Vegas will take considerably longer than Standard Definition files - this is completely normal due to the huge amount of info that has to go through the Computers Processor, one frame at a time.

  • Thank you for your response. I will try your suggestion. Robert F.

  • This video is exactly what chill software tutorials should be, I like how relaxed your voice is. I think the intro was a little bit long, the goal is to hook your viewers in immediately and not waste time at the start. Besides that, this was awesome, I JUST installed this program and wanted it for HD youtube videos, let's hope your suggestions work out for me!

  • I have a question for you. I am a drummer that records music to play along songs and video tape my performance. I import mp3 and video to Sony Hd Platinum 10. I mute the volume on my "Vegas" from the video camera and use the MP3. My problem is, I am not able to nudge my video to match my MP3 perfectly. I tried to move either my video, or my Mp3 to be in sync but always I am ahead or behind. Do you know how I can nudge on the timeline to miliseconds so my drumming video is matched up to my music?

  • Hi @rhythm61067

    Yeah I understand your problem.

Watch my tutorial on "How to Repair Audio Synchronization Problems...."

When experimenting with changing the time, remember that the last 2 digits are no. of frames 00:00;00 (0-25 or 0-30)

I am guessing that the problem is being generated by one of your recording devices not being calibrated properly (probably quite a common problem that normally goes unnoticed). This is were very expensive pro recording equipment has an edge.

    Dex :)

  • can you tell me why, when i look at the preview of my video in Most Studio HD, the playback is all choppy and skips around? im using a toshiba satellite laptop. Is it my computer? or the camcorder im recording with, im using a Panasonic HDC-TM15 full HD 1920x1080 AVCHD camcorder, for some reason it just skips around when im trying to edit and it really bugs me, if you can help that would be great! thank you :)

  • @MrSkateforyou

The problem is because of the file size of your FULL HD 1920x1080 video. To run this kind of file smoothly you need a super fast hard drive, processor and heaps of RAM. Basically you are suffering from file size overload.

Try shrinking down the size of your Preview Video Window and also reducing it to "Preview" or "Draft" quality. Don't try and use "Good or Best".

To edit Full HD you need a super fast computer, preferably a 64 bit System.

    Dex :)

  • will this work for videos captured on my Sony DCR-HC90E camcorder? Will video quality be better using the Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 10, instead of Windows Movie Maker 2.6?

  • Hi @ussprinceton2004

Yes it will work with your Sony Camcorder.

Windows Movie Maker is extremely basic - after using Vegas Movie Studio, you will never want to use Windows Movie Maker ever again.

If you go to Sony Creative Software website, you can download a 30 day free trial and try the program before buying.

    Dex :)

  • Thank you very much, 10/10 ! :)

  • Hi @Jibbersson

    Your welcome.

    Peace :)

  • omg thanks SOOO much to you. i would be soooo lost in 10 without your help.

  • Hi @wirelessjunkhead

    Glad I could help.

    Peace :)

  • thanks

  • Hi @MRSWAGZ1

    No worries.

    Peace :)

  • Thank you so much! You have no idea how worried I was when I couldn't render, thank you! xx

  • Hi @IFuhGet

Let me tell you a secret.

When I bought my first version of Vegas Movie Studio a couple of years ago, the same thing happened to me.

Every time I turned the program on, I was freaking out!

    Peace :)

  • thnks!

  • Thx this helped a lot!
