Shit that is real? Please. If you weren't too busy bitching about it on YouTube, you would know that the latest four albums with Brett Gurewitz are easily among the best that Bad Religion has ever put out in both their melody and message. It's not the band's fault that you want to live in 1988 and never catch up. Bad Religion doesn't play non-stop speed fests like Suffer anymore. Thank goodness they found their melody somewhere in there instead of playing three chords forever.
It doesn't 'suck'. People mature, and it seems they may have left you behind. Painting themselves into a corner is what saw bands like the Ramones becoming extremely mediocre by the end of their career.
I'm so tired of seeing people who think that music played fast is what makes it punk, a.k.a 'good' in their eyes. The meaning and message is what makes something punk.
They would sing a lot better if they weren't lifting their heads to sing. I'm no vocal coach, but even I know that lifting your head up strains your voice. That being said: I love Bad Religion.
I think Jay and Brett just practiced together for the first time in years on this song. Hence why Jay actually is in tune, cause he's going back to what he did on Stranger than Fiction. Thoughts?
actually brett is a good singer the backing vocals are usaully bad coz jay is singing but brett is singing in this so i assume this was the live version
Thing is, while brett is a good singer, I've seen videos on youtube of BR live with brett singing and they hadn't been this good. Maybe they just turned down Jay and Brians mics while mixing the audio for the DVD.
@torbar It sounds too perfect. The backup vocals are definitely autotuned. It always sounds better with Brett but Jay and Brian sound good too and I can tell their voices apart. Jay is WAY too in tune, there's no way this is just a case of messing with the volume.
@torbar i was at both these shows, and it's kind of hard to say. they play so loud! i would guess that they re recorded a lot of the backing vocals (especially the "heaaaaart" in struck a nerve, the backing vocals in let them eat war, and the backing vocals in all there is )
they also played the defense and beyond electric dreams but they didnt make it onto the dvd..
@WahDunnoWutHappened Must have been such a great show! And lucky, you got to see Beyond Electric Dreams live! Were there any other songs besides that and The Defense that they cut out?
Yeah, pretty sure they re-recorded them for the DVD though, or at least edited them a bit. Live backing vocals aren't exactly this band's greatest strength.
While they certainly were doctored some, part of the way they sound has to do with Brett being there. The backing vocals just sound better with him. Since there are so few live recordings with him there it sounds quite different.
I watched the Rock AM Ring 02 one, and they seemed to skip that line too. I don't remember if they did that when I saw them in concert. I guess they just change things up a bit live.
any live version of infected they shorten it, they do the chorus twice at the end instead of 3 times, as per the album, and that's just the line cut out
Hey I'm turtlezila i just changed my name but i found out that they have to change that for live and radio versions cuz people were offended cuz of Jesus's crusifiction.
The Thing I like about Bad Religion is that they dress like normal guys, and look like normal guys and still go rock out hard

I think Jay is a very good singer, he just doesn't practice often...hence why he sounds great in this, and not so great in most other shows.

Bad Religion does not re-record live shows. What you hear is what you get.

Because Brian replaced Brett and then Brett came back but they had no reason to dump Brian. And Brett joins the band live occasionally.

Sinister Rouge, All There Is, Infected.... why couldnt they play this at the concert i went to!?!?!?! haha

One problem with a BR concert is that if they had to play all the kickass songs, it would be 10hrs long.

I miss Brett touring! He just makes the show, not better, but adds to? yeah Ill go with that. I wish he played live more! grr i love watching him!
