ok, thank god for you!!! i couldn't find any tuts on here that actually helped besides yours. the only thing is, how did you delete the extra lines? i can't get rid of em.
Select the lines and press the delete key. If that doesn't work then click the button with the scissors on it

this is pretty cool but im having one problem...
applying the color... i cant get it on the actual item, but it shows up as colored in the materials area...
any tip?

can you not read? he goes to the lathe tool then
sets axis to y, start to closed, and end to closed. he also has texture coordinates on.
cool tutorial, i left anim8or a while ago, its good to start with, im with blender now, you should check out some of my stuff.

Well what i do is use the line tool to make the lines and then lathe the "shape"
