Just so you understand, "registered partnership" is NOT "as meaningful" as actual marriage in the legal sense. You do not have the same rights if your spouse is hospitalized (ie you don't have any say in whether or not the tube is pulled, etc), nor do you have the same rights when it comes to your partner's life insurance in the even of their death.
