This is a studio mix, as in, not "live" on the night. I should know, cos the mixing on this broadcast is good for Oakey. On the night (Perfecto party at Ku), his mixing was agricultural to put it politely.
Plus his set was so poor he dropped the shit that is Itty Bitty Boozy Woozy "Tempo FIesta". Admittedly, this raised the atmos, just what the handbags needed.
SHAME ON YOU MR OAKENFOLD
Pity the beeb didnt record the Sasha set, BTribes Nanita with the roof open had the dancefloor in bits! :)
@farnesbarnes Maybe he had one too many disco biscuits that night??? I thought the mix was OK! True not the same standards as the unbelievable sets he used to play in the annexe or the courtyard @ Cream week in week out, but still OK. I think it would be fair to say all DJ's suffer from a bad day at the office from time to time. Am just really glad I got to witness this guy fuckin takin the roof off at Cream between 94 - 99!!
Thank you Mr Oakenfold for all the good times I had!
I have a link that you can use if you want to download all 1995 Essential Mixes including this one..........by far one of his best mixes, I remember staying up just to hear it! 'By your Side' with vocals by Jimmy Sommerville..........who'd have thought........
spend 50-100 quid and get a tape to cd convertor for ya pc .... believe me its worth it, i now have cox, healy, oakenfold et al on cd in the car from early 90s ibiza
i taped most of oaky, sasha, digweed mixes from this era off radio 1, sadly those tapes are in cassette heaven, this was a truly awesome era of electronica and universal love......
Yeah me too, have hundreds tapes with stuff on that have yet to go thru. Taped loads off radio 1, galaxy 102 from 94 - 98, so looking forward to listenin to whats on them:)
